If you look behind the performers, the guy in the orchestra between them, who was supporting his head with the scroll of the violin, at 4.04 you can see him smirk. Like he could do any better!!
@@lukasmarecek1637 I can understand that, but maybe they should have done an arrangement of something else. The temp here was so so fast that for me the pulse (and therefore the heart) of the piece was lost.
As much as I am impressed by the virtuosity of these two, I really did not care for this performance otherwise for mostly tempo related issues except for the last section. This is the absolute best I've heard of the Allegro con Fuoco in every way. Crisp and clean.Yummy.I love how quickly the cello speaks.
I agree. Too fast (the music didn't "breathe") and too many tempo fluctuations (lack of steadiness). Halvorsen is not mere display of virtuosity and that is what this performance was. Didn't like it (at all).
The last double stop he plays is on two open strings. You can achieve a vibrato on both by vibrating on the body, since there are no fingers on the fingerboard. :)
Where did you reference Handel's original tempo? And can you please tell me what the original instrumentation was? I know it was for harpsichord and ~eep I can't remember~ I think that this tempo would work on a harpsichord. But I agree with you. about the more t than e. In my International part, the metronome markings don't go above 92bpm. I have the vln/vla arrangement, and I've played the vla/c arrangement w/ Peters Ed. parts. I'm older now and my memory may just be getting tired.
As he ended on open G and D strings, it's also possible to add a little warmth to the sound by doing that (instead of vibbing on a G on the C string e.g.). Awesome performance and the Brahms that preceded it was beautifully played too.
I am sweat disappointed normally gets piece is played much slower while the it plays it sweat quickly Music plays its listens appreciates itself is not a speed contest
Incredible, they perverted the soul of this piece, cut an entire wonderful part (even it's less virtuose), and worth, they played without emotion accept making money. Music and showbiz are definitly not going well together.
well it was an encore piece and i assume they were short on time so thats why they skipped the repeats and cut out a section they are incredible musicians though don’t want to take anything away from them if you watch any of their other performances they are amazing
They're playing too fast and they ignore all the repeats. Btw, they weren't playing 3 important (and hard) variations. Dislike! And the violinist moves too much, I couldn't focus on the listening.
AMAZING!! they are so in sync at the end, unbelievable!
They had a plane to catch ;) seriously now, I enjoyed this performance!!!!
Hahaaaaaaaaa

Beautiful!!! and very inspiring
The Allegro con Fuoco was absolutely amazing!
Tears from my eyes about the perfection and sensitivity!
Phenomenal performance. Perfect playing.
Absolutely breathtaking, had goosebumps throughout!!!! :D :D
I was there, played this duet as a result. Not a scratch on these two though, it was a bloody good show
Renaud and Gautier would make great carpenters, their sawing skills are amazing.
YAY, thank you for posting this!
MERCI les frères Capuçon ...
Bravo !!!
Just PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo~!!

They must have been short on time because they took that incredibly fast, didn't take any repeats, and skipped an entire section of the piece...
BigBeefPackage It was just an encore and on a festival, so it needed to be short.
@@lukasmarecek1637 I can understand that, but maybe they should have done an arrangement of something else. The temp here was so so fast that for me the pulse (and therefore the heart) of the piece was lost.
Virtuosismo pleno sin sentimiento!
Interesting analysis
bravo!! Capuçon !
bravissimi !!!

Atención a estos dos hermanos Capuçon. Extraordinarios y virtuosos intérpretes. Maravilloso.
It looks like they kept true to Handel's original tempo of q=120. At these speeds, this is more technical than expressive.
Cellist

They went too fast then they went to slow
Interesting Interpretation of the piece
The best in the World.
what the hell!!!! theyre the best!! :D
Umm... why is the cellist using vibrato on the body of the instrument at 4:02???
Ari Evan you cant use vibrato in solo chords so you use the vibrato in the cello so you can make the same effect
yep Coragem explained correctly. Also you can do vibrato on adjacent string with lets say 3rd finger, so you will get vibrato spreaded to the sound.
MARAVILHOSOS!!!

Vibrato na madeira 4:02.
Boa interpretação.
Why have only 214 people seen this?! SAD!

:O
*JAW DROPS*
1:58, 2nd violin front row
@4:01...did he just vibrato on the plate of the cello???
It appears that he did…. I wonder why

Compare the tempo here to that of Perlman/Zukerman (also on YT). The latter's slower tempo allows for a much more expressive interpretation, IMO.
Did they missed a (big) part ?
Search this title with "Impossible Duet"
Why are they running so fast in the beginning? :D
Very nice but perhaps a lighter touch would have yielded a better result, not withstanding the cuts and speed.

3:40
Brutal
The begining was too fast
Are they brothers
I can't play the wrong notes that fast..
I am sweat disappointed normally gets piece is played much slower while the it plays it sweat quickly

I'm really glad I don't have to be you. How sad
i just feel like it's rushed :/
too fast opening....
What’s with the violinist chap behind?! He looks so 😐 bored. Prob thinking… oh not this again.🙄. Amazing performance though 👏
Really not good.....too loose on pace..... recommend the version played by Julia Fischer.

Julia It was an encore, so they didn’t play it hole, it would be too long, but they recorded the hole peace...
To fast destroyed the showpiece...
c'est juste pas bon...
They skipped over ALL the repetitions except one, played way too fast, and jumped over four (!) variations. Strong dislike from me.
Worst recording I've ever heard...
