- Isn't it nice to talk about something besides politics? Let's talk about the best blend of quality and value in the ukulele world. If you are looking for a quality ukulele that is priced much, much lower than you'd believe possible, well look to Caramel!
Here are my four favorite Caramel quality-bargain ukuleles at the moment. Amazon affiliate links used. Small commission paid at no extra cost to the buyer.

Caramel Wins the Ukulele Debate. Game Over!
These are my Caramels: Solid spruce top concert with quilted ash back and sides + EQ (awesome), All solid mahogany baritone with EQ (awesome), all solid acacia soprano with EQ (pretty good, quiet), all solid acacia concert with EQ (never liked it), zebrawood laminate tenor with EQ (I progressed alot on this uke), exotic mahogany laminate concert with EQ (bought for my brother, he never used it, ended up giving it to a friend, actually pretty good). Some of these are no longer sold.
That's a bunch of Caramels! Like me, you seem to prefer acoustic electric. This is one feature that really really boosts Caramels.
Still hope to get one someday …😃
😊😊😊
My first uke, in 2016, was a Caramel, bought from their website. Over the past couple of years, you have turned me on to Hricane and Aiersi also. In fact, Aliexpress had the Aiersi mango pineapple on sale in June, so I finally pulled the trigger on it... it's darker than either of yours and has a lot of woodgrain all over it... it's gorgeous and plays well.
Aiersi mango soprano is a winner. I'm cleaning out my ukulele collection, but my yellow pineapple will remain! Hricane spalted maple and several others are also super ukes. Thanks for your very kind comment. I have not turned my back on ukuleles that aren't Caramel, but it is best for me play fewer ukes rather than many. I like tenor acoustic-electric!!
@@richdavis4007 - I agree. I have bought many different ukes (some from your good reviews and some by my own discovery), but I have my favorites. I, too, have begun to sell off my tried-and-did-not-bond-with ukes. However, I still keep an eye out for something interesting that I "must" have... I may just try it and then find a new home for it to get some of the money back (I write-off some as having the privilege of playing it for a while to satisfy my curiosity).
Easy come and easy go. If you pay a lot for your uke, that's the only way I see you can lose. Inexpensive ukes are painless to rehome!
Caramel is certainly winning in debates, reviews and in the all-important electoral vote.
But, they don't look on the surface to be winning yet in the popular vote, judging from available Amazon stats. Amazon does give Caramel a special recommendation though.
I guess the
popular voters are not well informed enough.
Ho ho. You should be on TV talking about politics. Caramel doesn't market so well as Enya, possibly, but their lineup out preforms. Caramel #1, Enya #2.
