@Bowhunter 24/7 Thanks for breaking this all down. I've been looking for info about the Pierce Platinums and set up suggestions. This video answered all my questions. I appreciate your help.
I know you posted total arrow weight and spine but would you mind posting your draw length and lbs.. foc % also ? Im about buy some of these and stuck between 250 and 300 spine
@@bowhunter247 100g head. only 30 to 40 with the 300 spine and I’m showing a little weak with total weight around 340. Or 50 to 60 up front on the 250s and staying slightly stiff. Trying to stay around 480 total weight. Hard to land on an optimal spine without going over 500 grains. I’m shooting a 515g Arrow now shooting for 480 ish on the next batch.
I’m 64 been bow hunting since I was 15 , I was almost thirty before I learned that deer only run half as far when shot with a four blade broad head as they do when shot with a three blade ,, I have seen at least one hundred deer expired in less than 13 seconds after being shot with four blades through the ten ring,,,now to some this don’t matter but if you hunt small acreage and want them to stay near you when they fall and not on adjoining peoples land ,,it matters.
@@bowhunter247 I had a dozen made and picked them up 3 days ago. Yesterday and today are the first time I've got to try them out. I'm shooting a Mathews VXR 31 5 with spott hogg fast eddie XL sights. I just got my sight tape figured out and put on this morning but ive been shooting quite a bit today and I am really pissed off about these arrows.... I'm pissed off that I didn't switch to them sooner because I am impressed. I've used the hunter PRO for a long time. I'm already shooting tighter more consistent groups at 60 70 yards. Thanks for the video and the reply!
@@jacobwallace7450 definitely recommend these arrows for anything. I no longer use the extra weights and am running about a 420 grain arrow. 29” draw 300 spine.

Glad I could help
Great vid sir. Check out your staircase at 3:40, you weren't alone.
I had to go back and check it out. Took a while to see it. Guess that happens when you're working in the basement. Good catch.
What shaft are those? I just got the 250s and wondering what field point size mine take. Do they take the 5/16 diameter?
Mine are 300 spine. Yes the outsert collar allows them to accept a 5/16 field tip perfectly
Hi, so before you add extra 20g what's the in/out-sert weigh please?
Feral Grandad 40ish grains
Time for another 100 yard target shoot!
I am building the same arrows for target. Wondering what nock you used. Is it the GT GTO style?
Yes. I just recently switched to the Easton 4 mm nock for my pierce platinums. Seems to be a more rigid material.
How far does the ballistic collar add to the end of the carbon?
Half inch
Will you provide a link
What kind of foc are you getting with the added 20 grains ?
No clue I don’t measure it 😂

62 pounds 29” draw. I never calculated foc. I always go a little stiff on spine. Hope this helps!
@@bowhunter247 thanks I’m 72 and 29” prolly need to go safe with the 250.
@@hankjones7389 how much weight are you planning to run up front?

Same goes for 2 vs 3 blade
How do you like the platinums for longer range shots?
They are phenomenal

He said he lost a deer on a shoulder shot with them ! No penetration
Is that a mouse on the stairs?
Yes 😂😂
Do the arrows come with the inserts
Yes just not the extra weights
