1988
Magic
MJ
Barkley
Bird
Hakeem
Best All NBA 1st Team of all time
Hard to argue
nice to see vs 2010
I just noticed that Hakeem's first 1st Team All-NBA came the season after Kareem's last time as 1st Team All-NBA. The passing of the torch from one generation to the next in the chain of great big men.
Respect to Karl Malone. He was 1st team for a decade. That's unreal consistency
Fool.... LBJ for 3 decades stupid
He also played 80+ games in 17 of his 19 seasons. Imagine that. And the two other seasons? One was shortened by lockout. The other was his final year when he was 40.
He was real big with the young fans back then 👀
The centers in the late 80s and 90s were unreal.
Top heavy
@@IWannaUnaliveMyself no it wasn’t. The second tier of that era was better than any era. It may be top heavy relatively just cuz they’re all elite, but there was great depth at the position. Guys like mourning, Mutumbo, smits, Parrish, Brad Daugherty etc.. hall of famers that never get mentioned.
@@dapper892 Nope. Top heavy. 1989 centers Hakeem Moses Ewing Sikma Parrish, the rest were trash. Laimbeer Eaton Benjamin Gminski Rony LaSalle Duckworth Cooper Herb West Cartwright Schayes Lister Smits Koncak Cureton Klein were trash. LMAOOOOO TOP heavy the nba was trash btw
@@IWannaUnaliveMyselfDanny Schayes was better than all of them!😂
@@IWannaUnaliveMyself U forget Sam Bowie 😂
Damn, Bird is in the top 2 of every category. Dude had to be badass.
Bird was the original goat
The guy made 1st team his rookie season. 😂
Larry Legend
@@cinziaventuroli3167 Lmao no he was not. There was never a “greatest player ever” in the 50 years of competitive basketball before him???? How’s that work???? Oscar Robertson and Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain were the 3 in the goat debate until Bird & Magic hit the scene.
No shit he was a badass. He is the 2nd greatest player to ever step on the hardwood solely behind MJ. Without debate.
Impressive things I see:
MJ and Karl Malone, and Magic were consistent when healthy and were perennial 1st team. Charles Barkely, Bird, Duncan, and Dream were damn impressive as well
Only reason jordan was named all nba was he retired those years
Lebron never missing a year other than his rookie year until 2019. 15 years straight was pretty impressive.
If you count 2 points (a bit more it should be actually) for each of Magic's (and Stockton's) assists, you see that he affected games as much as Jordan.
Bird when healthy (up to 1988) the same as MJ, KM, MAGIC.
Because this video starts in 1985 (why?) it cuts out Bird's 5 previous 1st all NBA teams: He made 1st All NBA his first 9 years (1980-1988) before his double heel surgery and hurt back (1989; 1991-92).
Only Malone and Duncan were 1st all nba in entire decade? Damn
89-99, 11 straight 1st team All NBA for Karl Malone.
Man Mj won scoring champions 9 times in 11 years not surprise why people call him the goat.
ngl Karl Malone was quite a beast
Wow Tim Duncan ❤
Wow Tim didn’t have to average 27 ppg to consistently be a 1st teamer. Shows that the voters appreciated his all around game.
스탯보니까 조던,매직은 지금보다 트렌지션 느리고 득점이 적던 저 시대에도 미친 스탯 찍었구나
I’d love to see the 1987 All-NBA team vs the 2003 All-NBA team. Wow. I’m talking skills, physicality, height, length on both teams.
Kobe was on that MF almost every year after 2001 now that's dominance until his Achilles happened
Jordan, Hakeem, Duncan, bird & Johnson.
Never realized that Jason Kidd made 4 straight 1st teams and made 4 out 5 years. that’s pretty crazy. But I guess after Stockton and Payton he really was the best point guard until Chris Paul came on the scene. A few years of Steve Nash but that’s really it from 2000-2009
Westbrooks MVP season was something else man
He stat padded. There are multiple clips of him having his teammates zone out the opposing team so that he can catch all the defensive rebounds.
There's also instance of him stealing ball away from Steven Adams on rebound.
That's true, there were moments when he disappeared from camera on several plays, wasn't really into it unless he was going to take the shot, and that's why he doesn't have great numbers overall when paired with another superstar.
Dam The Mailman 11 straight years first team PF!!
こういう動画、待ってました!
2003 is the best.
And best team ever is Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan and Shaq all in their primes. Best team ever assembled
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Kareem.
Curry, Jordan, Durant, Duncan, Shaq
Kareem? He got swept out of the finals 2 times. Once by Bill Walton. Once by Moses Malone.
Shaq? He got swept out of the playoffs an amazing 6 times.
@@natureboy1313What’s your point??
Finally, someone mentions Bernard King!!! I loved watching that man play! Too bad he wasn't healthy longer
Damn TD NBA 1st team on rookie season
So was bird, jordan, kareem and robinson.
@@deancafe4739Jordan and Robinson were not on the 1st team in their rookie years
@@user-we2ik6qs9carguably should've been. They had better rookie season than T.D T.B honest
@@deancafe4739aside you being wrong, I'm also bothered that people actually liked your comment. Now this is what you call legit casuals lmao
When I say that Price was the bomb, no one believes me. Now, I have proof.
Anyone notice how when they get to the modern bigs, theyre third stat posted "blocks" became "assists".
Lol 2023: Everyone is averaging 30 points
Magic, Airness, Sir, Mail, Dream
Didn’t know Jokhim Noah made a 1st team. Good for him
So what you’re saying is I need Michael Jordan and Karl Malone on my team. Got it😅
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Lebron, Hakeem
I'll replace lebron with charles barkley, the better player as pf.
Duncan
@@stevec9095 instead of Lebron? thats good., but I like Bird at the pf. he grabbed 10 boards a game, can post up, and stretch the floor and facilitate.
PG Magic
SG Jordan
SF Bird
PF Malone
C Olajuwon
Patrick Ewing avg 4 blocks a game in 90 and Robinson avg 4.5 blocks per game in 91. Last year in 2022-23 the highest block per game was 3.0
In the 80s in the 90s you were able to camp out in the pain. Starting in 2000 they gave you three seconds violation.
There were teams that couldn't hit a 3 even if their lives depended on it, so they were easy targets for the long, athletic centers.
Bird was First Team 1980-1988, why did you skip those 5 years lmao...
Jodan didn’t play
@@JParkerAdair Jordan 1️⃣st year was 84'
it is a bit odd. The decade starts in 1980 season. Bird and Magic show up that year... but the list starts in mid decade?
He's obviously a Michael Jordan fan that's why
@@dark8prince201ppl killed MJ for averaging 22 points in Washington but Bird first 3 seasons he averaged less but he's first team ? Stop it 🛑 media hyped
Freakin thousand thumbs up!!!!
Great job, but respectful heads up: Barkley was in Phoenix in 93, and LeBron was in Miami in 11.
When Duncan was a Small Forward. Deym!
That 88 team.. Sheesh
Arguably the best team there. 13 MVPs between them. 16 titles.
Not better than 2003
@@stevec9095lmao 😂 Tracy McGrady who couldn’t play a lick of defense? Gimme a break
Magic, Jordan and Lebron all 3 were still 1st team when others fell off. Magic's assists numbers, Mike's scoring numbers and Lebron's consistency are remarkable
@@IWannaUnaliveMyself 🎯🎯🎯
@@IWannaUnaliveMyself that’s (no offense) a lazy analysis pushed by media. He doesn’t pass/distribute anywhere near as well as magic in half court and on the break. And he doesn’t score anything like MJ. Lebron has never had a mid range or back to the basket game like MJ. Durants offensive ability resembles MJ more.
Lebron is really his own thing. Little pieces from different players but not simply a cross between magic and MJ.
@@dapper892 Lebron is light years ahead of magic and scoring and way better than MGay in passing. No more needs to be said.
And MGay can’t shoot 3s. 27% from 3 when the line is at 25 feet. Lebron is 34% with WAY more threes
@@IWannaUnaliveMyself I think you missed the point entirely dude.
And MGay? There’s really no room to be “above board” intellectually while also referring to one of the greatest athletes ever that way. The biggest star the league has ever known.
Like you just come off as an inbred, like your parents are brother and sister or something.
Kobe too
Can't believe Stockton not one first team, probably 10-12, second teams.
He made 94
@@Jaypeeps0595 too
@Jaypeeps05 should have atleast 4
@@Jaypeeps0595 too
He’s literally on there more than once what are you even talking about.
Sprewell was def a surprise sheesh
He's a warriors legend
Spree got the spot when Air Jordan was out playing baseball
Why, he was a savage in his prime. Warriors & Knicks Sprewell was a beast scorer.
1987-1998 Mj should won all the MVP.
Agreed, 1993-1994 MJ was unreal!
The entire 2017 team is today playing in LA, either a Clipper or a Laker
That 2004 squad might have been the best defensive/offensive balance of all. Sick on both sides of the floor. Sick.
Tha 88 team tho…🤩
The amount of times a player hit 25-7-7 and made first team is wild. Russ in his MVP year (when he hit 30 points!), Luka twice, and LeBron a bunch. Wow!
lukas done it 4 times, it's gonna be 5 this year
Should have started that in 1980....Bird was 1st Team every year except 1 injured year...Magic nearly every year too
Yep. Bird made 1st All NBA 9 straight years (then had double heel surgery and back problems). Magic rose a bit later - he didn't make 1st or 2nd in 1980 and 1981, made 2nd in 1982. Eventually he made 1st in 1983 ...and 9 in a row as well.
As a rookie, too.
Bird, Magic and Jordan all came along at the right time and literally saved the NBA.
Bird wasn't only a good player himself, he made everyone around him better, turned a mediocre team into a contender.
@@Ometecuhtli Turned an average center with bricks for hands into a HOF'er. He gave out his energy, to those around him. LBJ sucks it in, like a vampire.
Never knew Mark Price or Tim Hardaway made a 1st Team. I knew Timmy made 2nd Teams.
88,89 & 2003 is unstoppable
If Chuck would’ve joined the Rockets in his prime along with Hakeem they would’ve gave the Western Conference hell. The stats both were putting up in their primes was insane.
Bird has the best Numbers for 5 consequtive years.
In my opinion Larry Bird is on the Top 3 of the Best Ever.
Get your eyes checked he's only on the list from 85-88 😑
@@Storm-uo3wr how old are you...??!! Yeap, that's what i thought.
It's crazy how many times Kobe made 1st team and averaged more than Shaq the years he got carried.
Kobe was 1st team only once during their 3 peat and averaged less than Shaq. In 03 he averaged more than Shaq and they lost. Spurs won in 03.
@tabernathy0428 he was 2nd team all NBA the other years lol. He was also all defensive 1st or 2nd team all championship years, lead each of those teams in assist and 4th qt pts, and was widely considered a top 5 player. My point in being was he no where was carried.
@@gifi11 Any of the top guards of that time would have won with a Prime Shaq hence why a young D. Wade won with a Shaq in decline in 06.
@tabernathy0428 That's why Shaq didn't win in Orlando got you lol. You are not making sense even with your logic. The Heat were down 3-2, and D Wade had to average darn near 40ppg in the finals for them to win. It wasn't because of Shaq lol. What he average 15/16 lol. You can do what "IFs" all day if it helps you sleep better. The facts are, Kobe has 5 rings. Shaq didn't win anything until Kobe started starting, Kobe won 2 without him, and they both needed each other. Kobe was a top 5 NBA at 21 years old, and him constantly making 1st/2nd all NBA on both sides of the ball proves it no matter of your what "IFs".
@@gifi11 Kobe averaged 15 pts on 18 shots attempts and shot 36% from the field. 20% from 3 in their first finals. How was he not carried?
2nd finals he averaged 24 points on 21 shot attempts. Shot 41% from the field.
He did play well in the 3rd finals 26 ppg on 17 shot attempts and 51% from the field.
He was trash in his first two finals and definitely carried. He was a solid robin in the 3rd.
Your original statement was just false. He was a distant 2 to Shaq and was definitely carried.
If Bernard King didn't get injured he would be on here throughout the 80s
Are we all just going to ignore the fact that Tim Duncan was 1st team his ROOKIE season and again in 2013 which was either his 2nd or 3rd last season??? Dude was the real deal from day 1 and his longevity and consistency was unreal. Definitely underappreciated.
This video omits the 1st 5 All-NBAs of Larry Bird, so very probably not a Celtics/Larry Legend fan.
2023 stats are crazy, everyone can do everything.
With no D, sure they can.
2023, every player averaged at least 30 ppg, crazy.....
as you said tho 2023 nothing crazy about that at all weak era inflated stats you can’t play d now
@@thomaslee2558 you still have to be able to shoot and run up and down the court at a fast pace, things a lot of players back then probably couldn’t do, unless you’re MJ lol
@@thomaslee2558 You can't feast on offensive fouls like Malone or Shaq either.
I'm extremely shocked that Shaq didn't make the 1st team until 1998....I know he had stiff competition from Robinson and Olajuwon, but still....
I was shocked to learn that Shaq's teams have been swept 6 times in the playoffs.
@@natureboy1313 that's also shocking
Olajuwon and robinson were both the better centers of the 90s. Shaq still a great center during that time but he really developed into a beast when he got huge and full of muscles during his lakers years so yeah
@@memediff3475he developed into a great center after Robinson and olajuwan got old and saddled with injuries and there was no one left to stop him.
1989 MJ, 32.5, 8,8 wow
34/7/6 in 1990. 35/5/5 in 1988. 30/6.5/6 in 1992. And almost 33/7/5 in 1993. He had multiple years like that. His entire prime was like that. 88-93. That is why he’s the goat. He led the game on BOTH sides of the ball-in scoring and in steals-THREE separate times in 1988/1990/1993. He was unreal. He had 200+ steals and 100+ blocks in 1987/1988/1991 and was the only player to ever do that. And again did it 3 times.
That 88 team is by far the scariest
Nobody's talking about Magic. With a 2 meters height he consistently made 19 points and 12 assists per game on average. An assist is as important statistic as making points. Because assist means a point is made after a shot. And this assisted shot can be a 3 pointer. So, this is equal to 44 points per game (more if we count 3 s) if we compare with Jordans 37 points (47 if assists converted to points) year (which is a record) , Magic was breaking this record nearly every year he played in the NBA. Maybe people will understand the value of assist some day.
Christ those 88 and 89 teams.
2023 was insane all players in first team avg over 30 ppg
In an era without defense, i think it's a bit embarrassing.. they should have more..
Era without defense? Man the 80s Nuggets must've been such an awesome team to score even better than today's teams, so tell us how many championships did they get before "no defense" Nuggets of 2023?
“Old magic” 1st team 1991
2003年のKobe&T-macコンボはやばい!
Kobe 🤙🏻🐐❤️❤️
I always thought Giannis was a center
They straight robbed Kobe in 2000, 2001 and 2005 for J Kid and Nash 🤦♂️🤦♂️
That 2004 Team would be unstoppable 💯
Duncan , Magic, Bird, Jordan , ( Jokic ?) … Curry , Durant , Doncic , Giannis … ( Kobe, Malone , S O’Neill , D . Robinson, Ola… , Barkley ,
03 team looking nice.
2014 Win for “The All Time most obnoxious team ever” 😂
For those wondering the yellow stats mea they lead the league in that stat that year
87, 91 and 93.
I agree if you think harden is a choker. But damn, this guy deserved more MVPs
2005-2006 Kobe was still No.8 bro
Karl Malone was 1st team almost every year of his career
Underrated. MJ cost him 10 spots maybe on the all time list. If MJ never unretired Malone has 2 titles. Probably 1-2 more MVPs. And all those all nbas. He’s arguably top 10 all time over a guy like Hakeem
Yeah he has case for GOAT PF with Duncan and Barkley
@@dapper892stop. Malone couldn’t get out the west for his entire career and that has nothing to do with Jordan. Magic and dream are the real reason he has no rings.
@@prince21781 you may want to look into Hakeem’s playoff resume. Aside from 94 and 95, and the 1986 team with Ralph Samson, he did absolutely nothing dude. 87-93 he didn’t get out of the first round. And the jazz ended the rockets in 1997. And Malone had to face MJ, Hakeem didn’t. So relax on Hakeem being the roadblock for Malone.
@@dapper892when mj retired in 93 Malone and the jazz had a chance to win a championship and didn't. Especially in 94 because Hakeem didn't have Drexler and the jazz had a much better team and they still didn't

No defense league, just 3s
Not crazy, there is no defense...
bullsht stats after 2013
2023 Jokic got robbed
Harden should’ve been MVP in 2019 (Giannis, Kawhi & LeBron are my favorite players btw)
KG getting 1st team in 2008 with those bum ass stats is criminal
😂 that’s exactly why it’s position less
Give me MJ, Curry, Hakeem, Magic & Bird and we'll be big trouble for anybody.

Can someone explain for me if the team is selected by position? The reason that I ask is that some years, for example, have two power forwards, etc
1987-89 the best!
Watching basketball in the 80s until now. I'm looking at those stats in amazement, but what i realized was Lebron passed all of them in Points and Assists... and these the players we considered GREAT🤔
Weakest pick goes to Marc Gasol? Any other thoughts?
So u didn't see Jordan from clippers or Joakim Noah
But they got that defensive thoo@@craiggrayson9036

2017 Westbrook is insane.
What an underachieving team the Jazz were with Stockton and Malone. Two perennial 1st team All Pro players with a decent supporting cast and they achieved one final.
I can see why it became position less
David Robinson has almost the same amount than Hakeem Olajuwon in the same era he deserve mad respect
He's got the last quadruple double. 30 years and no one has done that.
Devin Booker, jimmy butler and draymond green will make the HOF I'm sure but how tim an grant hill not in and they where first team all NBA
