    Out of EVERYTHING in this game, the moment I found the most disturbing was discovering the fearless swordsman trembling for his life in the back of his dojo

      I loved this game as a kid, it really set my imagination on fire... the fearless swordsman cowering while a simple carpenter stands and laughs and taunts the moon in his final moments... everyone's true nature came out in the end. Such a phenomenal game

      @@TheSilly6403 I had a cracked version of the game on an very early emulator on my PC. I never had a Nintendo. So the game was in English and I did not understand a single word. I could never get rid of the Deku form, nor did I know how to even leave clocktown because the guards would not let me. I thought this is the game. Only clocktown, you are cursed to stay deku link forever and somehow manage the moon to not fall. And I still loved the game, even if I was restricted to the small clock town area. I tried pressing random button, speak to random people and get lucky to open some quest which would help with the moon problem. My jaw dropped the moment a friend talked about dozens of masks you can obtain, a outside world, becoming young link, calling giants... I thought he must be full of **** first. That all sounded so far-fetched. 2-3 years later I searched for that game again on my new PC and finally play it all through. So the game actually was bigger and more amazing than I ever thought as a little kid

      Yes as a kid games really felt like magic. I was so scared by the moon, especially the last few minutes when it was about to crash. I didnt knew about playing the ocarina and stuff, so I was always doomed to die at the last day. That huge scary face in the sky. I could never forget this game because of the chills it gave me back then. And the bells made it extra scary. Tried shooting bubbles at the moon, at people, nothing worked. It was sad to see the people die everytime I started a new cycle. Lol

    Nothing is more surreal and immersive than exploring majoras mask overworld during the final hours. Just absolute brilliance with atmosphere. Its unreal how perfectly this game portrays reality of impending doom.
    Something about the fireworks always being set off a midnight on night 3 is so unerving. Its the start to the chain of misfortune when the reality is it was supposed to spark the events of a thrilling event. The carnival of time... The towns people didnt need to set them off but they did anyway regardless of the perpetual death looming directly above them.

    what makes this so creepy, in my opinion, is that it merely seems like a quiet night. not a thing is different from the normal: crickets still chirp, nature goes about it’s normalities, even the sky resembles something of a late summer night. you’d already assume its quiet since its so late in the night, so even the stillness isn’t something that would leave a person feeling so uneasy.
    then you look up, and you learn the world will soon become loud with death.

      @TheGrammarPolice7 4 місяці тому +1

      *its normalities. If you were referring to a man/woman, you would make no mistake to use the possessive pronoun: his normalities / her normalities. The same logic applies to the neuter pronoun: it is a simple word, "its." What is it that people find SO confusing about the existence of the neuter pronoun "its?" I'll never know. It's just another word which, like all words, does not have an apostrophe inside of itself. It's honestly baffling.

    This game is... horror? Not sure what I'd call it... done right. It's crafted far more deeply and emotionally than anyone would see from the surface. Every NPC feels alive, and you experience their fears, worries, and sadness in very raw ways. Which makes it such a brilliant game. It's so dark so that you gain the satisfaction of being able to illuminate some pieces of code's lives. And it works. People ask why I like dark stories. I only like them if there is still a smidget of light and hope left in contrast. That contrast is why endears me to these games because it feels so consistent with real life feelings. We all have our ups and downs, but the ups do not exist without the downs.

Waiting for the moon to start falling every one is helped in every way possible. Then boom clock strikes 12 in game and you hurry back to the clock tower getting inside to fight majora hearing this beautifully haunting melody in the back. Truly a breath taking experience. The last peice you hear before the game ends is truly wonderful people around you have lost all hope an Erie melancholic song that really makes you question if it's worth it the bell chimes getting more frantic then the moon finally collides and you see the end of the world

"There's no point in collecting these things, you don't even have the time to use them all..." I swear, I even cried a little.

    @epicboomshine6595 Рік тому +14

    And this is why l consider Majora’s Mask my favorite entry in the Zelda franchise. It has so much charm, personality, and character that it really puts the other games to shame because you really feel for the plight of these characters, because over the many cycles, you get to see their hopes, dreams, and help them solve their problems. You know exactly what their fate will be if you fail to stop Majora, because, unlike every other entry this game has the balls to show you what happens and what it will do. Think of it like this, look at OoT’s adult time skip or ALttP’s Dark World. Sure, things are horrible with Ganon in power, but things seem more or less status quo, just with a big bad guy in charge. Stopping him will help the people of Hyrule live happier, more prosperous lives, but it doesn’t feel like a life or death matter to the Hylians, as even an evil king still needs subjects. Majora is a different beast- it doesn’t care about ruling over it’s subjects. It only cares about inflicting as much misery and suffering on the people of Termina before it decides at their lowest point, where things seem hopeless to just consume the whole land. If you don’t stop it, not only will you not survive, everyone else will die. And these characters come to realize that in their final hours, no matter how far away they are from Clock Town, they aren’t safe. They know they will die. Some of them deny this fact, some of them are fearful for their lives, some stay steadfast in their resolve to do what they always do. And then there’s the brave ones that despite knowing their time is up, stay strong for the ones that depend on them.

    This game somehow really stresses how urgent it is for the player to save the world, with a real life countdown and only three days to save the world before it’s simply gone. The player is really frightened, knowing that he can’t just do whatever he wants like he should. He must save the world before it’s too late. Every time you look at the sky, the moon gets a little bit closer. It’s terrifying in the best way possible, mainly because the game perfectly portrays how the end of world as you know it would look like, especially in the final hours.

    This is my favorite iteration of all the Zelda games I've played so far! Hearing the doomed music begin, the contrast of the festival fireworks, the clock tower bell tolls and seeing the fear of digital people & their diminishing hopes was what set this one aside from the other games. Then you get to repeat the 3-day cycle like 'Groundhog Day' until you're able to stop Majora & Skull Kid from causing the moon to impact Termina. No one word can adequately describe the numerous relatable aspects it dives into with every NPCs story, especially since it is an EXTREMELY difficult feat to attempt saving every single one of them before the game's climax. Despite the gloominess of it all, those flickers and sparks of faith are what make people bring out their best from within in my humble opinion. To me, it was more than just a game & helped me to see all of that in real life. 🙏

    If you rearrange a deck of cards enough times, then statistically it will eventually be in its original formation. Due to the fact that time is infinite, the same goes for the particles in your brain. There is a higher chance of your brain briefly forming in a void complete with memories of living than there is of you actually existing on earth. The only thing you can be sure of is the existence of your own mind. If you are reading this, you are likely the only real consciousness to have ever existed in the entire universe. You are alone. Nothing is real. This theory is called the Boltzmann Brain.
