since all music has rules. The idea music has no rules is only followed by those who write terrible music. I'm sorry to break it to you but music is based on patterns which need to be respected (as I explain in the video) for the music to make sense to any listener...
Tnx for the detailed explanation. from my limited knowledge the "division rules" comes from music theory, that is the 1 beat is the strong beat and is used to accentuate,2 beat for suspense and so on - 1 beat strong,2 beat weak,3 strong,4 weak..... the "anomaly" in the structure in your example of 16 bars and adding another bar for a fill is meant to supersize the listener,he will anticipate to more common arrangement move from his past experience. - and i suspect it will create more tension because the arranger is delaying gratification.
@@Projektor_music i am guessing here: this trick may need a the right timing to apply it - i think i should come after a few standard arrangement patterns, like 15bars+1 bar fill - because the standard ones will create a sense of something familiar and after that comes the surprise,to shake things up.
its a great way to work in Ableton.. Using a midi track as a layout.. Its one of those things Ableton leaves out, they do keep it simple. But some of the track features you find in Nuendo or Cubase, such as ruler tracks would be great to see in app.. Dont think it will happen though;)
knowing ableton's development speed we can expect to play with those features somewhere around the same time the heatdeath of the universe is planned...
@@Projektor_music Christ, I was explaining that to my daughters last night… The universe bit;) loving the course by the way.. good work… what I’m trying to get my head around is those, fast glitchy end of 16, 32 or 64 bar sounds you hear a lot of, or at least trying to make them sound good.. if that makes sense?

it'd be Good to see this kind of content more often. Don't need so many videos about it, but that something that was just missing, thank you!
Glad it can be helpful!
You are a real inspiration to me, good sir! I hope to sound as good as you someday.
Thanks man! I hope you will be too but I'm also still growing :)
With Timestamps, it's even more useful. Nice topic.
Yeah I hope this is he kind of video people will come back to every once in a while to refresh their memory. Hope the timestamps help with that!
thanks for your work , helped me a lot 💚
I’ve always compared trance and Psytrance to the sonata form in classical music.
I know nothing about clasical music so I could not tell you if I think about it in the same way lol
i have the same tapestry you have behind you
Unfortunately I don't get to use it in the new apartment but it looks great!
Informative video
Thanks!
thanks bro :)
Thank you!
Since when psytrance have rules?🤷♂️ you mean the generic modern "rolling bass line" "progressive"

that kinda makes sense, I've never found that this arrangement trick works for me though...

@@MM4F maybe dBlue glitch can help there!
Does this apply to fullon?
yeah, I'd say it does!
Excellent video, I use SoundCloud for reference, where you can see the arrangement of the track with the small "timeline bars"
Personally I think you will get more accurate results loading the track into your DAW
I’ve been rewatching this video and it’s helping my arrangements. Thanks 🙏
I'm glad this video can help!
this guy has serious content as much as dadda, maybe more structured
Thanks man! glad you enjoy my style! I have a bunch of youtubers you might enjoy in my public subscriptions...
Really useful ! thank you
