I love how instead of a floating balance wheel like other mantle clocks have this one has an escapement where it has a ticking mechanism like on an old pocket watch or wrist watch that you wind up. I love that it takes like those old-fashioned stop watches or pocket or wrist watches that you wind up in a TikTok like that that is so cool.
The BBC TWO English ident from 1991, the Mantel Clock playing the Quarter Hour of the Westminster Chime and the time signifies at the church, cathedrals, chapels and abbeys to the first hymn plays like for example, Guide Me Oh, Our Great Redeemer.
When you turn the hand to strike the hour and it does strike, take only the minute hand off and flip it so it’s pointing to the half hour. Re-screw and see if it chimes properly
We have a telechron 1936 clock with the chime rods still at the bottom but a speaker and battery were installed after a family member took it to get it fixed. I guess they installed it. We are also trying to make it chime with hammers but all the clock people o have called say you have to find the exact same chime movement. It plays the Westminster chime
@@FreqFarmyou take a pair of needle nose plyers and bend the front of the chime hammer, approximately 3/4 inch away from where the hammer head is, Bend it until the hammer doesn’t bounce more than once because if it does double bounce, I can cancel out the resonance.
Thank you. I got this one off of eBay along with my other bracket clock. My alarm clock is from Amazon. And three of my cuckoo clocks are from family members. The fourth cuckoo we bought at a shop.

My wall clock from the 20's started chiming the hour on the half and the half on the hour. Not sure what happened. Any advice would be helpful.

I notice that its hard to find wind up clocks is a shame that they are replacing the chime rods to a speaker ugg!
I also notice the Chime rods are quieter then the Chime speakers which are in now modern day clocks
Mechanical clocks are so much better. Better made and more reliable

It’s also a rare model
I noticed the 3rd and 5th hammer bouncing a bit. (gives it a chatter sound) have you tried raising them a bit higher from the strike zone?
When you say to raise it up how is that done? Are you adjusting the allen screw on the backside of the hammer, or somewhere else?
