  • This is an English translation of Alessia G Tramontana's "heart solid granny square" video. This is completely not my pattern. Here is the link to her video: • piastrella granny con ...
By the way I feel really dumb because I don't know why my brain decided that this was French. I am pretty sure it's Italian and I apologize. This is extremely embarrassing but I am not going to re film, edit, and export haha. I also misspelled my instagram username right at the end.
I will be posting the cardigan I make out of these on my instagram @JamieCHaskell.Yarn / jamiechaskell.yarn
And here is the finished cardi 💗:
    pCKw5OtlL5...
    WRITTEN PATTERN:
    1:48 - 8:12 Heart:
    Magic ring ch 2
    12 "dc" (11dc+1ch2)
    Pull magic ring end tight

skip next st, 7 triple crochet into same stitch
    dc in next st
    2 dc in next st

    7 triple crochet
slst into next st and tuck in ends
    13:10 - 35:58 White:
    Round 1
Pull white yarn through top middle of heart
Ch with white end, push end down, chain again
    dc

sc and hdc in same st, ch 2

triple crochet, ch 2, triple crochet in same st
    dc
    sc
fit 2 sl st in funky crochet-into-side-of-dc area
    sc

    20:03 round 2
    ch 2
dc into next st then dc 3 more across top side
    dc in pre-corner st, 2dc, ch 2, 2dc dc in post-corner st
dc across left side (13 total dc on this side)
    dc in pre-corner st, 2dc, ch 2, 2dc dc in post-corner st

    dc in pre-corner st, 2dc, ch 2, 2dc dc in post-corner st
dc across left side (18 total dc on this side)
    dc in pre-corner st, 2dc, ch 2, 2dc dc in post-corner st

continue dc then join round with sl st, ch 1, tie in ends
There should now be 18dc on each side.
Congrats! Now you made a crochet heart square!
    Extra Notes:
•The heart takes 8min for me to make and the whole square takes me about 25min
•I used Red Heart Soft Essentials yarn and a 6.5mm hook
•The pink part uses 8yds of this yarn and the white part takes 25yds
    •The squares are 6inx6in

I had no problem with the crochet heart but, when i made solid squares to make a tote bag they were 2 completely different sizes
So, the intervals from my solid granny square is 3, 7, 11, 15
But with the one with the heart trom this tutorial is 13/14 then 18....they don't line up and idk how to fix my normal solid granny square for it to work :(

Thanks for the tutorial! It was super helpful! Can you stop after the first white border if it’s for a smaller project?

    • @jamiehaskellyarn
      @jamiehaskellyarn  3 роки тому +1

Yes! Totally! You can just do the first white round or keep going for however big you want it. It might end up being a little wonky because the other borders help even it out but I'm sure you could make it work!

HI! if I want a larger size should I just do more rounds of the round 2 in the video? BTW thanks for this tutorial I loved it!

Yes! Just remember that the heart will remain the same size.

I made a lot of granny squares thanks to your video. However, there's a fault in the written tutorial. For round 1 of the white yarn, its written triple crochet, ch2, triple crochet in the next stitch while in the video you've done it as triple crochet, ch2, triple crochet in the same stitch. I got a huge hole when I did according to the written ver n was wondering what was wrong hehe

if I want to make a smaller heart, by converting the trcs into dcs and the dcs into scs, will I have to change anything in the square?

    • @jamiehaskellyarn
      @jamiehaskellyarn  3 роки тому +2

Hm. Your stitch count wouldn't be off but it could make your square a little funky. I'd say try it out and see if you like it
