It always felt to me that Connor inherited some tenderness( and kinda, normality?) from his mother’s side ; but he was so isolated and neglected emotionally while growing up in extreme, disorienting privilege. He extends some paternal-like affection to his younger siblings, but he doesn’t really fit in anywhere with the Roys. In my opinion while is true that Connor has been the most neglected child of the four,I think in the end he will probably be the happiest because by now he kinda knows how to live on his own and with Willa he has gained much more confidence (the episode 7 of the last season shows exactly this) meanwhile Kendall Shiv and Roman are still haunted by their father and his approval, the constant need of finally becoming like him or him.Besides in episode 7 Connor said thar he go to his father grave sometimes, so thus is probably other sign of his reconciliation with him
I found the scene of Logan’s wake at his house where Kendall, Shiv and Roman saw the video of Logan at dinner interesting. Everyone seemed relaxed, happy, and laughing, and Connor was there beside him. The scene wasn’t about Connor, but I think it was telling in that we saw that he could see a side of Logan that the other siblings couldn’t. Logan competed with his other children, but Connor’s lack of competitiveness meant he could be closer to Logan in some ways.

I imagine him as being the best uncle to Shiv's child. And he'll probably found through them the happiness he was looking for from his siblings and father. Now that I think of it, he probably doesn't even know Shiv is pregnant 😢 Since it was shown that Shiv told the other two, but he was not present.

He went into politics and hes going to achieve important things. Yes, hes an ambassador to a small country but thats still important work. And he has a solid, affectionate, trusting partnership with Willa. Thats more than a lot of people get. He won
It's interesting how Connor is the oldest child but bears none of the hallmarks of the eldest child (fidelity / near subservience to the parents and their wishes ). Kendall , on the other hand, bears ALL of those hallmarks?
Conor is the only one that took a real interest in Logan’s burial, no one else cared at all! Notice he also purchased Logan’s home, albeit a nice home, to me I saw sentiment in both actions where the others lacked in the humanity of Logan’s death. 👀
His presidential campaign is silly (while still being good writing) but it may have been the moment he started becoming more secure as a person because it began his walk away from Logan.
I just realised, but it may be him that succeed. He may be the actual winner of the succession. He's the older child, and if as vain as the others at least he has some understanding of that fact.
I take the words of Brian Cox, logan always loved all his children... He just wasn't capable of kicking something he loved and see if it comes back to him (Caroline words)... Connor besides not having the drive his father wanted, he also was the one thing he loved that was always there for him. So he never felt the need to keep kicking him, Logan was happy enough just to have Connor around (not buzzing in his hear all the time)

He and his bought and paid for wife will be happy? lololololololol Silly kid
Connor is such a sweetheart I think he’s a bit confused sometimes politically etc but he’s generally a good guy and I love all of his scenes
Connor is a hateful, money grubbing, lying billionaire. He bought his wife. He has no connection to reality on purpose. Silly, kids....
an AJ succession video about the goat Connor himself !!!!
the conheads are gonna love this one
I found the scene of Logan’s wake at his house where Kendall, Shiv and Roman saw the video of Logan at dinner interesting. Everyone seemed relaxed, happy, and laughing, and Connor was there beside him. The scene wasn’t about Connor, but I think it was telling in that we saw that he could see a side of Logan that the other siblings couldn’t. Logan competed with his other children, but Connor’s lack of competitiveness meant he could be closer to Logan in some ways.
Don’t y’all forget. Connor Roy was indeed interested in politics at a very young age.
I think logan did love him but knew not to expect much from him, so he kept him at a distance and focused on the others.
No, Logan was a hateful psychopath. Grow up, kid.
Thank you for this amazing video about Con.
You’re very welcome!
real shit I had the thought I think last night or this morning "hey ya know, Aleczandxr should make a Succesion video, that would be cool" and then I see this in the subs tab, actually wild lmao
a little freaked out tbh but I'm glad I am getting what I want lol
EDIT: Great analysis, really like the point brought up about not only the family forgetting about him, but the show (and therefore, the audience) as well, which definitely feels on purpose from the showrunners. Hope to see more Succession stuff!
I like his chances of ending up as head of Waystar at the behest of other shareholders if only because they know he cares the least
yeah, I get the feeling the show is building towards that, I thought he might end up as president but his numbers are too low and it would be unrealistic if he was to get it now lol.
YOOO a video on my favorite roy child? Niiiccee
I imagine him as being the best uncle to Shiv's child. And he'll probably found through them the happiness he was looking for from his siblings and father. Now that I think of it, he probably doesn't even know Shiv is pregnant 😢 Since it was shown that Shiv told the other two, but he was not present.
outanding look at everything surrounding conner. i love him. alan ruck is a treasure in this role. you go, connor?
In the end Connor has Willa
The other 3 disconnected, entitled, spoiled, horrible elitists have NO ONE
my boy connor is FINALLY getting the love he deserves with this video, thank you for sharing
Of course!
Conner Roy was interested in parental neglect from a very young age
Holy Shit Succesion video. You love to see it
This video really helped me enjoy Connor more man, thank you.
Not usually into these kinds of show, but Succession is another thing entirely.
I love discussing this show and talking about it's characters. Characters such as Connor are exactly why this show is great. There are a lot of layers to this show, and I am looking forward to your analysis of it!
I've been a fan of your channel for a long time, and now you're covering succession. What a great time to be alive!
THANK YOU. I have been looking for a Conor video analysis, im so glad you mentioned how there are NONE
I was not expecting a video of Succession, let alone Conor!!
It makes sense. Kendall was always treated as the eldest of the family. Connor has been treated as an outsider for the most part.
Love that you're diving into Succession videos!
So he never felt the need to keep kicking him, Logan was happy enough just to have Connor around (not buzzing in his hear all the time)
I hope Alan Ruck gets paid the same amount per episode as the other siblings….obviously Connors mother wasn’t as monstrous as his siblings mom…and half siblings do sometimes get forgotten……it’s sad that him and Willa have the best relationship
I'm sure he gets paid the same because Alan Ruck was a more familiar name at the start and probably has a good agent
@@annabarr1304 yea I would say Brian Cox was on the huge name and then Alan Ruck and Kieran Culkin are in the same level fame wise I know Ruck has been around longer
The use of the Great Ace Attorney soundtrack was perfect for a Succession video. If you do another one, please do it again.
Dang it, now I’m gonna have to try Succession again! Thanks for the awesome vid AJ ❤😊
A Great Ace Attorney OST used for two Succession videos in a row? Well played.
Conheads we got this. When Lord Con is president we'll nationalize Waystar Royco, let's see how the failsibs like that.
glad you are doing this. i love this show and not many people are doing character analysis like you
I'm joining you, buddy. Making an essay on Connor myself!
Just so you know, Connor Roy was interested in politics at a very young age
I watched the first 2 seasons after seeing this video. Will report back and watch this when I am up to date.
Connor living his best life
Connor Roy was interested in politics from a very young age.
Love the Great Ace Attorney music choice :)))
Next week is going to be fuckin huge for the conheads, mark my words.
This is quite a surprise, but welcomed one. :D
I wonder if your thoughts have changed any, after the finale scene with Connor and the Old Guard's dinner with Logan
Yeah my overall point didn’t change after the finale but I think that shows an intimacy with Connor that is unique to him in spite of this all.
Wow! Whag a brilliant video! Love it! Thank you for sharing your ideas
My pleasure!
Let’s not forget that Connor Roy once hanged out with Ferris Bueller 😁
Loved Alan Ruck since Spin City. Love his role in this show.
The show has a knack for showing us how money ruins everything, especially human beings.
Keep Succession vidoes Coming great vid
The message of this video is perfectly encapsulated by the fact that a lot of the comments are only quoting Connor's lines people have made jokes out of.
Connor Roy introduced me to fine Burgundy.
Even aleczander on the succession train
Conner is the child who is capable of being happy, the others will never feel complete.
Appreciate the analysis, here. Cheers.
