For sure very underrated, but the longer I peruse the internet, I think Earl Campbell was the most underrated. Earl had a short career from being overused, but at his best, he was a top 3 all time back. For different reasons, Ricky fits the same narrative. I'd put Ricky in my top 5 all time backs.
@Moonie Bell no man it is kind of true. He wasn’t THE reason, but he was for a lot of backs. A visor and dreads bro. Ricky was very very very popular with a lot of kids growing up when he was at Texas and then peaking in 2002 with maimi. All over the cover of magazines and they talked about his dreads and the visor all the time
@Moonie Bell yo moonie, I hear ya. Appreciate your position on it. What I just sent you is a post from Ryan Smith of PFF pro football focus basically saying exactly what I said. Ricky Williams made visors cool. He made them popular. Not only do I know that they were around before Ricky, but I literally remember paying attention every year to see if Barry was wearing one or not when I woudl go back and see his film, same with Dickerson. Same with others. But Ricky made it COOL he made it POPULAR! I know there is no way for me to prove this unless I dive into the numenrs and somehow find a way to actually get the data on how many players/backs wore visors before Ricky and how many wore them after him. But from my memory? As a kid who was like weirdly obsessed with the way players and their uniforms LOOKED( I started drawing at age 2/3 and went to college for it so I think I’ve just always been super focused on the visuals) I distinctly remember seeing Ricky come in with his dark visor and the story behind it( anxiety) and then a few years after his 2002 super popular year, not only did we see dreads grow in popularity amongst all players but visors were EVERYWHERE. Because I don’t want to be right, I just want to know the truth, I’m going to go do a search on RBs prior to Ricky and see how many wore RBs, and then check how many wore them after...gimme a little time
@Moonie Bell ok just literally my first search again and I found an article from the Seahawks? Lol. It’s from 2016 and it’s about how so many of their players were wearing the dark visor that year. The article starts by mentioning how “Ricky Williams made the dark visor famous with his play on the field and in interviews” Come on!! I have a feeling I’m going to find like 10,000 people saying this exact same thing sir. But yeah. Gotta do the research
Damn, Prime Ricky might have been the best blend of size/speed/strength we've ever seen in the NFL only other guy I can think to match him would be Bo Jackson.
All Ricky Williams needed was a mentor or someone that he knew was really there for him and he woulda been great longer then he was. He felt alone his whole career. Watch the pivot podcast with Ricky it’s really good
To all future running backs watching this mutant of a running back play notice the superb patience once the ball is handed to him to wait until the O-line opens a hole for him to ram through.
Let’s See Roddy White, Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, Mike Wallace, Antwan Randle El, Chad Johnson, And TJ I’m not even gonna try to spell his last name but you know who #84 for the Bengals Is 😂
Ezekiel Israel I disagree. They played different positions. Alstott was mostly a blocking back. He had more than 1000 fewer carries than Williams and scored only 8 fewer touchdowns. Alstott didn’t have Williams speed but as far as power I have to say he was better. Not to mention the 6probowls,3 All-Pros and a Superbowl Ring he won.
Ricky Williams was the best running backs in a Miami Dolphins uniform. He was absolutely a monster.
The most underrated running back he was better than most

Yes, they had the same running style very physical earl Campbell ended up in bad shape but both don't get the recognition they deserve
Beast Mode Before there was Beast mode!
U so right but faster!!!
If Ricky Williams wasn’t so different he could’ve been the GOAT! He was the man
He is a legend! He's the reason so many RBs rock locs 🔥
@Moonie Bell 😂
So true! I swear he is also the reason that visors became so popular for some players!

one of my favorite backs Miami ever Had! Phins up!!!
Dude was a beast
Damn, Prime Ricky might have been the best blend of size/speed/strength we've ever seen in the NFL only other guy I can think to match him would be Bo Jackson.
And AP
He would have the all time rushing record if he would have continued playing
Don't forget Marcus Dupree out of Oklahoma. He was a beast also..
When he got to miami a whole new animal was unleashed . he took tge league by storm that first year
All Ricky Williams needed was a mentor or someone that he knew was really there for him and he woulda been great longer then he was. He felt alone his whole career. Watch the pivot podcast with Ricky it’s really good
42 carries is crazy. Ricky Williams was a beast
Was a beast in Madden 04
Future Hall of Famer
early 2000's...He was the face of NFL RB"s
Greatest NFL running back ever idc!
These clips always start with someone torching Detroit
The fastest. 230 lbs I've ever seen. !!!!!
Bo Jackson
This dude makes some of the best highlights hands down. Other highlight producers take notes. It’s great to watch with boomer not some song.
🙌 Legend
Much love to Csonka, but Ricky Williams was straight up the best running back we (PHINS) ever had.
He became an absolute beast after cutting weight.
To all future running backs watching this mutant of a running back play notice the superb patience once the ball is handed to him to wait until the O-line opens a hole for him to ram through.
Thx very much for this bro.. peace
42 carries is insane
Say what you want he was a damn good back
Reminds me of bo jackson
In Madden if you had the Dolphins You Was giving Ricky his touches cause thats all they had lol.
Troy28 Exactly lol. He was a monster in Madden 2003 & 2004.
Beautiful open field tackle by Ray at 3:17
morrieswigs lol
If that o-line was blocking for Tua with the run game we have now I can say we would've sent deep in the playoffs and to the super bowl. Straight up
Ricky was the only that could smoke a blunt on the side line
It took 6 Lions to get Ricky Williams down
Do CJ2K next please. Love these vids man.
And Clinton Portis also if u can 🙌🏽
Hell yea CP and Edge were my favs
The oline was solid our qb was garbage that fiedler or Lucas fella. Had Marino gotten him a few years earlier or a back similar he could have eon a SB
I think Ricky Williams was better then Terrell Davis and he is in the HOF
Can u do Chris Chambers!
Always wondered how the Dolphins would have faired if Ricky played in '04
Could have had a HOF career
Chris Johnson next
1 day I might..........
Let’s See Roddy White, Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, Mike Wallace, Antwan Randle El, Chad Johnson, And TJ I’m not even gonna try to spell his last name but you know who #84 for the Bengals Is 😂
Houshmonzota*
Here is a man who wasted his life because he wanted to smoke pot instead of be a Superstar...
@@Cryptech1010 Go smoke another bowl dude...
@@Cryptech1010 that dude must be doing meth
Bro he's rich asf
Almost as good as alstott or sanders
He was MUCH BETTER that alstott. Barry is the GOAT

Mike Doss
When you get near the goal line you give the ball to the fullback everybody knows that
