What if I’m pouring for a quadrangle shaped pad that’s 18’ w by 24’ L by 4’ w by 16’ L by 6” D? How would I go about calculating concrete amount, for that?
Im no expert to be honest but i think u should turn the shape into a square or easily calculated shape then then subtract it by the volume of the spots it suppose to be missing , or just break it up into smaller shapes and find the volume of each shape and add it up
@Buckwheat2080 I'm with you bruh I don't understand where these numbers come from they pull them out thin air 81? What is 81 where does it come from. 27 is how many cubic feet are in one cubic yard simple easy to get makes sense in a formula 81 represents what?
1 yard = 27 cubic feet 1 cubic foot = 1 square foot that is 12” thick. 12” thick / 4” thick slab = 3. So one cubic foot will cover 3 square feet @ 4” thick. 3 square feet x 27 (the number of cubic feet in a yard) = 81 square feet per yard.
Jesus Christ!! Finally someone with common sense! Thnks!!
Awesome and quick explanation. No need to watch another video. Thanks.
Thank for the info this was very helpful
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video! I wanna pour 18 wide 80 length driveway. How many yards would I need ? At 3” thick ? Thanks
🤦🏾♂️ Dude literally just explained it
It’s 13.2 yards
There are numbers you can use. But I don't use 81, I use 79 in case it's deep. And then add a half yard. Do u finish?
Cool. 👍🏻👍🏻 That’s a good idea.
We don’t pour a lot of concrete anymore. Just a few jobs a year.
@@TimDCVA I'm got a vid I'm posting on this topic on firday, that's how I found your channel, just doing some keyword research
Nice. I just subscribed. Looking forward to it. 👍🏻
THANKS SO MUCH. REALLY HELPS.
You’re welcome. 😀
Multiply .25 by however many inches thick you want it. ((L×W)/81)×(inches thick×.25) = yardage.
U didn’t explain what u did. U need to divide inches by 12 to put it in to feet

@@miguelrivers9626 thanks, but I eventually passed on the job
Simplified perfection.
Thanks!
We would like to fix our sidewalk
The measurements are 24x7
How many concrete yards we would need 4” thick ?
Thanks !
24x7=168 square feet.
168/81 = 2.07 yards @ 4” thick.
@@TimDCVA. Wtf kind of nonsense is this. 24x 7 x .33 dived by 27 is how it’s been done for decades and centuries. It’s .5 if it’s 6 inches thick.

is there a video about metric
Ok questions my backyard is 17,000 square feet in yards that's 10yard correct if iam wrong
No that’s not right. If you are pouring 4” of concrete over 17k feet, then you would need 210 yards.
what do the 1.5 and the 2.5 represent ?????
and what does the 81 represent ??
Thanks a lot. Quick and easy!
Great help, keep short video
LENGTH X WIDTH ÷ 324 (MULTIPLE THAT NUMBER FOR EACH INCH OF CONCRETE)
What about footers
fail to enplane how is he come to formula
Rocket in the behind 😂😂😂😂😂
Why 81?
1 cubic yard of concrete covers 81ft @ 4” thick.
@@TimDCVA thank you sir!
Does that mean for 8 inch thick slab you times it by 2.0????
Yes
U can’t explain , square foot includes the height not just length and width , also how much square foot does a yard cover
A yard will cover 81 sq ft four inches thick but he did not explain how he got 81 sq ft. I use to know it, that is why I came to this video.
1 yard = 27 cubic feet
1 cubic foot = 1 square foot that is 12” thick.
12” thick / 4” thick slab = 3.
So one cubic foot will cover 3 square feet @ 4” thick.
3 square feet x 27 (the number of cubic feet in a yard) = 81 square feet per yard.
U just gave me a headache...
Haha.
Stop that background music… 😤
