    Does this take into account friction?
    If you fall through the center of the Earth, assuming you could cut a hole and be safe, you wouldn't touch the sides.
    But if you cut a hole at another point, then the center of the Earth would pull you into the wall the entire time. The angle would constantly be changing, but would it be more like a curved slide?
    How much would the friction change it since you wouldn't be free falling?

      Correct, in this case the assumption would be that you would be able to keep away from the walls of the tunnel

    if you do it on the equator i think you would take longer to fall than in the poles. bcuz of the shape of the earth. an oblate spheroid

      it will still be 90 minutes. because the gravity at the poles is equivically lesser than it would be at the equator due to the difference in mass. thats the whole point.
