Always a pleasure to see you reviewing fragrances in this format (love the streams too!). In the opening, Rimbaud has one of the most realistic lavender notes I have smelt in fragrances. The dry down is quite enjoyable with the vanilla / orris / musk. Celine is building one of my favorite line ups. High-grade ingredients, delicate and elegant scents within a very cohesive offering with a distinctive style. Rimbaud fits in perfectly in their range.

I'm a bit thick and slow. I thought it was Celine Dion's line or something, and you being a Canadian I thought wow Eugen is a super fan. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Magnificent serious perfume house. Smelled all of them in the flagship store in Paris. I have Reptile and Dans Paris

Never smelled a Celine... it would be pretty funny if you went from being bored by Demachys work at Dior to loving his work at Celine 😂😂😂
BTW you seem like you are in a really good place.. hopefully the time with family and your parents has been fulfilling and I just know your fragrance releases this year will be a smash hit... its what you were made for! 🙏🙏🙏

Lavender Vanilla seems to be a very safe interpretation of Rimbaud. So hopefully “il a deux trous rouges au coté droit“!!!

    Hello
The way you pronounce French words is really cute and so are your hooded eyes :-)
Smelled Rimbaud yesterday and it s a lovely lavender but nothing really new.
To me the best modern lavender is “music for a while” de F.Malle
It s a modern version of pour un homme de Caron which honestly reminds to every French person the smell of ours grandpas.:)
    Even though it s good.
Eau de Californie is really good
Palo Santo notes and freshness are excellent in it.
    Especially for Summer!
    Kiss from Paris
    Satya

Still go for Pour un Homme once in a while. Used to be a gold standard layering piece. Haven't tried anything from Celine, but it's great to know that we finally have them here in Canada.

Nice video Eugen and well timed. I’m a massive fan of this line and for me Nightclubbing is the stand out. Black Tie and Eau de Californie also excellent Really looking forward to trying Rimbaud soon.

Thank you for the review Eugen !
I'm really intrigued by this collection.
I have La peau nue but I have never tried the other ones.
I would have expected Rimbaud to be more unique and non-confirmist considering Arthur Rimbaud being the inspiration behind the fragrance.

Eau De California does remind me of California. I was born in Northern CA but moved to SoCal when I was 11. It definitely reminds me of the dry grassiness and the natural food culture there. Eau De California makes me feel melancholy. I hope you enjoy it.

Rimbaud’s growing on me, I think itll be a future buy as I dont have any lavender/vanilla’s and prefer it to Caron PUH.
Fave Celine’s are Black Tie, Parade and Rimbaud. Dans Paris smells similar to Cuir Beluga to me, has that Guerlain vanilla vibe as you mentioned

    • @remivpei
      @remivpei 2 роки тому +1

I own Black Tie and Parade and considered Dans Paris for a bit but after sampling it, a specific note was turning me off, which turned out to be the playdough accord it has. Funny enough, I was testing Cuir Beluga at the same time and have a clear preference for that scent over Dans Paris. Cuir Beluga has a similar vibe but feels more mature and elegant (and no play dough accord there aha).

😆you still haven’t opened the other one? It says the palo santo is an accord. So I’m guessing they used vetiver to make the palo santo accord. Eau de California has a great flaky wood, and I couldn’t explain it, but you said hamster cage and you were spot on. The wood chips they place Inside them to be exact, the smell before they put the hamster in, lol.

Yess i was waiting for talk on this release. I have Le Peau Nue and it is achingly beautiful to me. Someone else said Rimbaud is similar so I hesitate to blind buy but then again Celine sends you a sample to try before you open FB.
I love the line but none other than LPN seem compelling enough to buy. However I sprayed Saint Germain during this review and like it more than I remember.
Nightclubbing is probably the most interesting of the line but dry down not for me.

The perfumer at Celine misheard Slimane's request to produce a perfume named Rambo (same pronunciation in French). It was meant to smell of toxic masculinity and ham acting, but Rimbaud's nice too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rimbaude: I love the juice color, name, and packaging. I’ve smelt some from this house in the shops but haven’t felt compelled to own one. It’s possible, if I were to know who the perfumer is, I’d be more compelled to buy the product.

I agree, perfumers should be credited, Le Labo has also gone the way of not disclosing its perfumer and it’s quite frustrating.

Smell with your nose, not with your eyes. It could be made by God, but if it doesn't resonate, it doesn't resonate. The fragrance community puts perfumers on too high of a pedestal when in reality the perfumer is answering to the creative director who gave them the brief. If you don't like the line, I wouldn't blame the perfumers. Instead, I would blame the creative director, Hedi Slimane. The same is true if you like the line. I would credit it to the creative director's taste and how they directed the perfumers in creating the final product.
