Acustica Audio | MIDNIGHT

- On the heels of their latest Hyper 3 tech Midnight is a collection of Vari-Mu based compressors that are in the style of the infamous Fairchild 660/670. Fluffy, but can get “Smacky”, it is a wonder on drums both single channel and especially buses across the board. We'll also try it on other sources including vocals.
Let's Goooo…

8:08 with it bypassed, it seems like sounds like a pristine studio demo, then when Midnight is applied, it sounds more analog warmy detail to it. The song is fly. Stop b.s.'in', bro-bro, and release these albums :D
Cool!!!
9:59 Just slapping ASH ULTRA on here with 32 floating point bit limiting algo on it using mesa or coffe c25 "AFTER Midnight" (no pun intended LoL), you get it so good. But if you want it to sound perfect, run Midnight into Pumpkin PRO into JAM into ASH ULTRA and you sound like the late D&D Mastering studio in Manhattan that folded.
Don't forget about Crimson...it's a beast too.
@@coldskoolbeatz I will tap Aquarius on the shoulder and he'll "lend" it to me for 30 days no frills and if I like, I will give him that money for that cr@ck rock. LoLoLoL
. lets gooooo!
Just tried this and Grey but nothing beats the Tulip or Nickel compression...
Love your videos! Between this, Salt and Opal, Acustica have really got us covered!
@Yish
Idea: do an Acustica Audio shootout of its compressors: Tiger vs Midnight vs Cream vs Coffee vs Opal vs Cardinal vs El Rey 1/2 vs Ocean.
Don't be smart arse and say, "Yo you got Acustica Audio money to cop those?" LoLoLoL
I'm sure this is nice. I got good Vari-Mu compressors already. I think the AA saturation is bar-none. Get Pumpkin PRO, ASH ULTRA, & JAM and you're good from AA IMHO.
Man, I love your tunes! And your videos are the best tutorials on AA plugins out there. Keep them coming!
I liked the tone of this compressor but dont care for the action - its not Fairchild like at all
Fair enough. No pun intended😄
When you say that, what is your reference? Actual Fairchild? Plug in emulations? The action feels really good to me... Better than what I'm used to from acustica... And this one isn't overly smearing the transients either. it's very smooth... pretty transparent action.... Plus he dialed in how he wanted the action to handle for some in the video. What are you expecting the action to do? What don't you like about the action?
@@ramspencer5492 I own it, it sounds more like a transient designer to me than a compressor
Amazing song and presentation
Amazing track yish... got a kind of Omar vibe.. The voc harmony is reminding me of 'looking through the windows' by the Jackson 5. The compressor is a bit lacking in mojo for a fairchild. Love acustica for eq though.
Wow that track is amazing! Did you make it? Forget the comp! I will check out your music on spotify! :) EDIT..... couldnt find this specific song on your spotify channel. Where can I find the full track?
Thanks. Song not up yet. Working at it though.
pretty sure song is done man - it sounds finished! haha@@Yishinyourear
Beautiful music/production and video!! Bravo!!! "MIDNIGHT" does what a few great compressors do, but in an exceedingly musical fashion. It makes sound easier to comprehend/make sense of (easier to hear and listen to all the components within the audio). 🙂👍🧡
It may not be for everything... but I can use it on most anything (because "MIX" knob). 😉
That song is so beautiful!!!
This track is craaaaazy!
Track Mix is amazing
Not another Fairchild emulation.. I thought UltraMarine was an emu of the 670?🤔
When is the LP droppin' fam, or you just gonna hold all this🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥hostage on the SSD?🤔
Yep. These are the modern clones that were sampled and, of course, have far more controls that even the clones don't possess. I did hear that Ultramarine may get an upgrade, but when and if is anybody guess
If I can stay on the energy I'm on atm, I'll get the records done. Just need to plan it out, this of course, is the part I'm struggling with.🙁
CPU usage?
It's low to moderate, of course it depends on Computer Specs, OS, and DAW used. On my system in FLStudio its about 8% of the CPU
