No, the city cops were found by the county to have murdered dogs and trespassed on county property inside the city. The city investigation showed the city police sputtering in indignation.
I think he even mentioned at the stop that it was a “swatting” call. Meaning that is why they were already in a gaggle on not actively trying to get to a suspect or victim. I would assume that they had already gotten to that point and relayed up to the arriving officer that it was a stand down due to a false call. Then they had enough time on their hands to act like children, instead of dispersing like they had other things to do.

So either they already had their guy in custody or it was never as dangerous as they originally thought (swatting). Not one of them was acting like they had just been through something or were still expecting something. I don’t know the details but I thought I heard him say something about a barricaded officer and swatting in the same sentence, so I thought by all their actions that any danger had been nonexistent. Did they seem focused on a suspect in custody or like they were doing an AAR? Would they stand in a gaggle with an armed, barricaded officer possibly aiming at them? The scene didn’t seem “active” to me.

What pisses my off is, that the cop didn't ticket the Sherriff for speeding. As a retired firefighter, you can not break any traffic laws if you don't have both lights and sirens running while responding to a call. The cop should have written a ticket.
The Sheriff fails to run code, fails to notify the local PD, and then the Deputy LT commits assault. I hate to side with local cops, but let's be honest. A Sheriff is just as susceptible to corruption as any other LEO.
They do mention an initial call and that police refused to help, but I don't know any details beyond this video. IS a Sheriff obligated to call police? From what I gathered, they were in an area under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff.
We are all forgetting... The Sheriff is ABOVE the local PD, for a REASON. The Sheriff is elected. It is VERY LIKELY that the PD is the corrupt group, and the Sheriff had enough.
I saw it a little different. The sheriff takes what cases the sheriff wants and the local cop was the one who chased down the incident commander because "words hurt" The situation was in hand and deescalated, but local LT didn't like the fact that a deputy does in fact get to tell the local Chief to stand down. That said, they acted like children and they make six figure salaries off our backs for that.
The one sheriff says according to the CAD call notes, Lexington PD was notified, and they refused to respond. The chief vehemently denied that. So, who’s lying? This wouldn’t be too hard to get to the bottom of.. either a call was made to Lexington, or it wasn’t.
It's like watching children fight on a playground, and really shows lack of good judgement, immaturity and abusive behavior. Police have to be the grown-up in the room in order to do their job, and when they're not, it leads to a lot of real problems for the public.

The Sheriff fails to run code, fails to notify the local PD, and then the Deputy LT commits assault. I hate to side with local cops, but let's be honest. A Sheriff is just as susceptible to corruption as any other LEO.

They do mention an initial call and that police refused to help, but I don't know any details beyond this video. IS a Sheriff obligated to call police? From what I gathered, they were in an area under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff.

The Sheriff is ABOVE the local PD, for a REASON.

It is VERY LIKELY that the PD is the corrupt group, and the Sheriff had enough.
I saw it a little different. The sheriff takes what cases the sheriff wants and the local cop was the one who chased down the incident commander because "words hurt" The situation was in hand and deescalated, but local LT didn't like the fact that a deputy does in fact get to tell the local Chief to stand down. That said, they acted like children and they make six figure salaries off our backs for that.
Especially in small town counties where the sheriff goes unopposed in like 4 decades of elections.
The one sheriff says according to the CAD call notes, Lexington PD was notified, and they refused to respond. The chief vehemently denied that. So, who’s lying? This wouldn’t be too hard to get to the bottom of.. either a call was made to Lexington, or it wasn’t.

Seems like the overall best part of this is how the cops/sheriffs resent being treated the way they treat everyone else.

It's like watching children fight on a playground, and really shows lack of good judgement, immaturity and abusive behavior. Police have to be the grown-up in the room in order to do their job, and when they're not, it leads to a lot of real problems for the public.

It shows you EXACTLY what the police and sheriff’s are all about - none of it good. Both departments should be disbanded and everyone working for them permanently stripped of their law enforcement credentials.
