  • Followill and Dameris break down a home split between the Dallas Mavericks and OKC Thunder full of twists and turns. PJ Washington Jr. continued his excellent run of form, but quiet scoring nights from Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and a poor free throw shooting performance by the entire team cost them in Game 4, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a true superstar moment down the stretch.

No body talking LucFloppa? If he stop falling over the team wouldn’t get so many easy baskets when he turns around to complain for 30 seconds. 😂

The fact pro basketball players at all positions can't hit 75% or higher on free throws is unbelievable. Any player who does not should hire a personal coach and commit to practicing it on their own until they are. No excuses.

Or go underarm, 2 handed... Like back in the day... You could teach a child to hit at least 75% with that technique

Free throws are mostly mental. Okc has obviously gotten in the heads of Luka. Dort has already beaten him up mentally.

I feel like basketball players do it already. Most missed free throws are a mental issue. It's just really hard for players to get reps in a high-pressure environment like a game.

This is such a great podcast, I’m shocked you don’t have more of an audience on this thing. Brian and Mark don’t get the time to deep dive and show their basketball bonafides like this on their respective broadcasts.

Still disappointed about what happened in game 4. Lots of things stand out, like shooting 52 percent from the line, costly turnovers or how good Shai is. The main thing is everywhere today and unlike past postseasons it isn’t about how our MVP candidate puts his team on his back and wills us to a win. The focus is on Luka’s complaining every time down the floor & how awful he’s been offensively. Something’s amiss with Luka and we wanna see him put his head down and TAKE the game. Play like you want to be on the team. Be a real leader. Everyone knows he’s hurt but his incessant whining is unbearable. Regular season, year after year it seems to have gotten worse and he’s gotta grow up. Focus on whats important because your team needs you to. Brain said this a couple times: details matter. This is one of those details that is going to determine who and what you are going forward dude.

Sux to see Luka already defeated mentally. That shit rubs off to the team. Wish he would just tune out the refs. Who the hell is his mentor or who will he listen to? They don't tell him that everyone in the media & a lot of his fans notice it? Shits crazy & fuccin aggravating. Coming from a Luka fan....

The mavs have played probably some of the best defense the last few games, than I’ve seen since the 2011. But I feel like Kyrie and Luka have relied so much on the role players this series, that it’s taken them off their game. Luka looks like he’s out there playing “trying to fouled” instead of basketball. Our stars have to be stars, and the role players need to role players. I know luka is hurt, but it seems like this year he’s been less aggressive to basket and relies more on midrange and step backs, than previous years. Could it be the extra weight?

Luka is clearly severely injured on that knee. It’s very hard on the body to drive into the paint over and over again

Ignorant clown ,could it be extra pain ? You go out on the field with a injured knee and try to run and jump 100% then comeback and tell us how it went...please

Luka needs a Holger type guru coach. Even when he’s healthy and making shots, it doesn’t look very crisp. He’s still very raw as a pure shooter.

I guess another thing thats hard to wrap your head around is the fact Luka is 25 lol. He's not even in his prime, he's just entering the start of the peak years in the NBA. EVERYTHING that he has done on the Mavs has put the Mavs ahead of schedule. They weren't even supposed to be contenders this year, they were supposed to just get into the playoffs and see what happens. They have had like 25 regular season games to gel with new guys, and this one season really to gel with Kyrie
As Bob Sturm said: theyre trying to build the plane in the air while they're flying it

It wasn't a double dribble. Derek shouldn't have played him like his dribble was dead. That buckets was a back breaker.

with respect to DLive...IMO Gafford should be the one closing the game specially on drop coverage defense as DLive sometimes indecisive defending OKC coming off the dribble.

Give Luka some rest, he’s injured. You can put in another great player.

The whole team are not serioulsy handle the free throw. Now they made the cost , uf the more 20% accuracy , Mavs already won the game.
Besides, Luka another offense weak except no ball movement , it is FT %. His free throw shooting form determine he won't be high percentage FT shooter. Cos his release of his arm doesn't straight and make his shooting not always consitent and stable.
