You made a remark about the dancing. John Travolta started on this movie a couple of weeks after finishing Saturday Night Fever so he was likely still in shape. Also, the part of the Guardian Angel had been offered to Elvis Presley, who was finally rejected because of money. He died shortly before that scene was filmed anyway.

❤That is Venice High School in Venice California and it is used a lot. I don't think it was in Back To The Future but it is in Heathers(dark teen classic) and Britney Spears Hit Me Baby One More Time. The actress Sandra Dee was very famous in the 50s.....wholesome and as pure as the driven snow. She was in the Classic film Gidget 1959. It is fun to watch. There was a genre of 50s and 60s beach movies. Even Elvis had a few. I love Blue Hawaii the best.

Most actors playing the students were in their 20s, not their 30s or 40s. The only two that were not were Rizzo at age 33 or 34 and Sonny at age 32. Keep in mind in the 1950s kids looked a LOT older than they do today!
The reason adult actors were selected is because the restriction on actors under 18 years old are difficult to deal with for a movie with a budget and time schedule. Adults can work long hours, and not teens.
That was NOT Mrs Kravitz. That was the nanny, Samantha's cousin Esmeralda.

Definitely; I remember looking thru my brother's high school yearbook from 1957 and thinking how much older the students (especially the girls with make-up & hairstyles, actually trying to look more "mature") looked to me and I'm a high school graduate of 1971! Now everyone tries to look as young as possible for as long as possible; sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.

The original stage production was much more raw. The play was an accurate celebration of the 1950s, the movie was a romanticized (and somewhat sanitized) look at the '50s through '70s eyes. The movie is an awful lot of fun, my only gripe is that its phenomenal success has compromised every stage revival since. Stage producers are reluctant to put on the original show and generally try to make their productions as much like the movie as legally possible. (The same problem haunts stage productions of THE SOUND OF MUSIC and CABARET).

I'm back to ask if you might do a Canadian movie in honour of Canada Day 🇨🇦
I think you'd love FUBAR (2002) and find it hilarious.
I also have to recommend Dance Me Outside (1994) as my own favourite Canadian movie (and just one of my favourite movies of all time).
CUBE (1997) is a fantastic original and terrifying sci-fi/horror that has become a cult classic.
And lastly The Snow Walker (2003) is just a gorgeous and emotional survival story set in the wilderness and based on a story by Farley Mowat.
    All good options, imho. 😊

My high school senior class did Grease as the Senior Play. There was a bit of censorship in the script.

The original HAIRSPRAY is better than the John Travolta remake were he wears drag.

    1. I worked at a three theatre movie group and this is one of which is a drive-in. Yes it was like that. Sometimes moving from car to car. BYO booze&4/20.
    2. Also, "Up in Smoke", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Saturday Night Fever".
    3. This was a great movie to take your honey to. I was in high school.
    4. These songs kill for karaoke (especially Summer Lovin')
    5. Marty/Diana Manoff is my honey. Her character is a bimbo, but what's wrong with that?
    6. The last song was the curtain call.😍😋😈
    7. "I'll give you 35c for the whole car, including your chick". 🤣🤣
    8. Danny changed too. They didn't just give letters away. (even in crappy schools)
    9. If you don't dig the all-star cast it's on you
    10. RIP ONJ 😭😇
