Yo whatsup? Please allow me to respond to your concern, even though this is really late of a reply. The OUR System is designed so that any style in Bboying can win. Look at R16 World Finals. Issei, a young power mover from Japan won. Nobody even knew who he was, but he still was able to win because of how the winner is determined, by categories, not by points. So a power mover can win Dynamics, and if they win Execution and Battle strategy, they can win!
thks ya so much
Tyvm! :D
thanks :D
There are many pioneers and legends who are already on board with the OUR System, and are working to continually build it into what its supposed to do, to be an objective, united and transparent system, preserving the essences, protecting the culture, and building a better bboying future
Dynamics is about showing a high level of "Dynamic Qualities" throughout ones set from the beginning to the end of the entire round. The 7 dynamic qualities are super:
Strength, Speed, Balance, Energy, Flexibility, Complexity, and Risk of injury.
One needs to display a high level of any of these 7 from the beginning to the end of the entire round.
good battle !! good system !!
keep going R16
The big numbers in the middle are how many categories each team are winning. As you can see at 9:18, Gamblerz are winning Foundation, Originality, and Execution. MC is winning Dynamics and Battle Tactics is tied.
The big numbers in the middle change and at the end, whoever has more, wins.
Battle tactics is about maintaining ones confidence, and also taking what your opponent does and doing it better.
The number one battle tactic, would be to take what your opponent does, or does badly, and doing it either better, OR adding more on top of it.
The response must be to the Style, Move, or Concept.
Both Blue and The End have been trained and certified to judge from the same OUR system standards of Dynamics.
Blue isn't judging on what "he" thinks is Dynamic, or what he "thinks" is more difficult. He was trained to look at all Dynamic qualities, which he did a great job.
good battle
KING Motherfuckin SO!
such a clean ass style and flow.
what is the song at 5:25? please tell me its a really sexy beat :o
okay thanks!
Who know the name song at 3:30? It sounds so good but quite short
is it a stop and go double halo? just wondering
imo it seems like in this battle and the battle against Jinjo, the Gamblerz aren't having fun.
It's like they're more focused on winning which is coo but you can see something is off.
dope!
The fact that you think bboying was meant to be "judged", is a flaw in itself. Bboying was never meant to be judged in the first place. It's between the two bboys or crews battling, not about trying to please a judge's opinion.
Unless you just started bboying in the past 5 years, you would understand that biased judging has been a re-occurring issue all around the world.
song plz!
song at 4.14?
Song at 7.48?
The End was judging at R16 Taiwan Eliminations.
Blue just judged R16 Korea Eliminations.
There is a HUGE difference in the level of Dynamics between Korea and Taiwan.
In the R16 Korea qualifying rounds, Blue gave a lot of low scores to the less Dynamic crews.
The Top 8 crews you see here all have a high level of Dynamics, which should be expected from bboys of such a professional level
True, but you can never have an entirely opinion free judging system. There will always be personal standards. Just by looking at their way of judging, you can tell that Blue is more humble and appreciates almost everything (you can see it in the way he gets excited during battles), while The End is more serious and will probably have a high standard of power (he will probably mainly look at the actual power, instead of looking at all aspects of dynamics).
Of course it does.
Like Dyzee said, routines are judged the same exact way as regular rounds.
A 5 minute routine is judged the same way as a 30 sex set.
song at 5.30? PLEASE!
what the name of bboy in 1.27and2.04 please..
can anyone plz say me the the meaning oh the symbols plz ?
ok, thats a little confusing, but thanks. they should just have a point tally on each side to make it more detailed on whos winning, and by how much. but thanks again! -young mitchell
I'm glad King So is back! He does seem a bit out of shape though. The 2009 King So would've destroyed Chubb Rock - Treat em Right with sharp moves and on point. Seemed like he couldn't keep up in this battle, but that's probably because he hasn't had the oppertunity to experiment with his 'renewed' style. I think he'll be his old, improved self sooner or later.
So these were just the Korean qualifiers, sorry I'm confused about what these battles were in respect to the R16 Championships that go down in a couple days. Could someone clear me up, por favor?
In the recap video, Dyzee give's the fact that a lot of bboy's at R16 Thailand were scored a "None" in the foundation category. He than states that its either:
A: Because he is a hard scorer
Or B: Because many bboys in the competition displayed no foundation
It's up to the viewer to do their research and come up to the conclusion whether it was A or B.
Blue was judging Dynamics, NOT foundation. As many can see, the level of Dynamics is quite high in Korea.
Lol I love how for Dynamics, Blue gave them a near perfect score.
That's more like a Ticking Double Halo, have you seen Blast's double halos? :O
3:53 SONG!?
This is all explained in detail in Bboy Dyzee's video. They're not doing who wins by total points, it's who wins the most categories.
3.55 song ???
no one had much complains against the old system than the our system!!
so the big numbers in the middle dont even matter?, cuz you just added up the points from the past rounds
OMG Bboy Kill Crashed on the one handed flare lolool...DAMN crash hella hard but the amount of power for that recovery is ridiculousness!
Song 10.03 Please..
Song at 7:45?
Born to rule - Blade
name sone at 5:30 n 10:28 please ?
nice battle, looked really even to me
this feels like the final to me for some reason
The system was created to have a standard, but it seems like the judges don't even have a standard in each of the five categories -.-
Blue was giving 4s and 5s, whereas The End(when he was judging a different event) gave a lot of 1s and 2s.
Treat Em Right by Chubb Rock. Ur welcome!!!
Rocket showed confidence in his moves and was on beat.
Song 3:56?
In my opinion i think it kinda is expanding the Bboy community, think about it...It's not just all powermoves and all style now...Like you need your style with your power, it's been making me think alot more outside the box on what i can do with style you know?
Fudge so EPIC~!!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong but OUR system is just one of the many ways to judge battles. I think it's the most objective way to judge, thus, the most fair way. When you judge a battle, you need some sort of criteria to judge them upon anyways. So why not use the ones that some of the best bboys are endorsing ?
Yup :]
9:20 that guy was a musical, why in the foundation of a score?
The Boca Breakdown by Boca 45
Born to Rule by Blade, and Chubb Rock - Treat em Right
song at 10:00 please ?
Who is 1st bboy?Kidgang?
Yes, his name is Dynast now
5.30 n 8:10 song please
King So's didn't show too much originality in that set, so a 3 is understandable. A 4 for dynamics is fair, too, I think. Dynamics is about speed, strength, balance, etc. I thought execution should have been a 4, but battle was a 2 because he responded to a long routine with a solo set.
This is a controversial subject. In the recent years, the community is lashing out at the over exploitation of routines (especially wack ones), and that there should be more solo's. Now there is a system that doesn't limit routines, but helps to control the over exploitation of wack ones, and balance out the uses of routines and solos, and people are still complaining. Why?
If neither of them gets it highlighted that means it's tied.
name song 4:10 pleasezzzzzzzzzzz
since we can judge sports and competitions and all that is it possible to judge true art?
sorry i made grammar and spelling mistakes because it is not my mother tongue. Hopefully my point can be understood
We and many professional b-boys don't like the old one either.
Sickst Halo I've ever seen in my entire life !
1:07
REAL TALK ^ ^
bboy at 5:45 plz? he had a crazy set
That's exactly what I was thinking about The End. LoL
I think King So should have gotten a higher execution score, though.
@2:52 That's Flex. Isn't he apart of Gamblerz?
But the problem is relative to the other judges' scores. Some are harsh while Blue is more nonchalant.
Ticking Halo.
It's like ticking headspins
Rules create a structure to go by.Obey them work with in it & the best that gos with it will win. However that makes it a contest or comp not a battle.Every1 forgets came from the streets no rules.Im 45 still love a battle.I now get dist 4 no 6steep.For me id be biting Ken Swift,Aslong as we jam im happy.Hurts body now though 2old haha
A 3 for execution in rocket's first set ? O.O
Yo the judging system is dope! Once other jam's start judging like this an not ah ( He's my hoomie sooooooooo he won :-) type shit!) I will be DESTROYING ALL!! Thanks for doing this!
30 sec* set.
The original comment about judging was posted...because this entire discussion and premise is about judging. If judging is flawed thinking, this OUR system is flagrantly flawed
Puzzles loves giving out 3's
BBOY SHOULD BE IN THE OLYMPICS!!!!!!!!!!!!! unless it is already o.O
Robocop las year WAS a shock wasn't it?
1:06 REAL DOUBLE HALO
7:42
Could someone forward me to Bboy Flex, CBA watching the whole battle.
chubb rock treat em right
10:12
Nevertheless he is right. I appreciate the effort to create a new valid system to make it fair but except you are doing a ranking of moves and styles, what an bboy have to do or not, you can not abolish subjectivism. And i think it is good. ANd may i suggest one thing to maybe make your system a bit better. Do the points from 1 to 10. It allows more greyscales. And one question. In wich category belongs creativity. Have a nice day
bboy sick. damn ill.
Actually the majority of crews complaining about routines are the u.s crews. Which is really the only community lashing out at them. Whack routines are part of the game, you cant expect everything to be perfect. This system is limiting crews to there full potential.
The fact that half the bboy community has a problem with the new system says something. Yes the old system wasnt perfect but i find it funny more people are complaining about the new system than the old. enough said
LOL xD I thought that was Ez who used ult at 10:13 in the crowd
so in jinjo vs moo lil john gave 1 to foundation to moo all over... yet here in the first 2 rounds rocket and the dude from fusion did almost NO FOUNDATION at all.. and he gave them 3's.. rocket killed it tho. anyway ..curious.... and anyway foundation is needed to win a battle but IT'S NOT NECESARILY NEEDED to win a round
First of all i have to say that i really appreciate the effort to make a better judging system. But i have to say that there a still drawnbacks in that system. i would be really thankful when you take sometimes the critic. You' re are always hide and justify yourself behind an unknown. Those who make the critic are most of the times bboys out of the new generation and also a part of the movement. Anyway. the biggest disadvantage i see, is that a single bboy loose his right to choose
min 9:22 ..... round of musicality and footwork, and at the end he gets a 1?.. foreals?.. lil john needs to open his eyes, at least a 3 or 2, -_-
So a routine is basically judged as one round, right? so then couldn't one individual bboy counter an entire routine single handed and get good scores instead of having an entire routine to counter. If that's the case, than what is even the point of having any routines if they are judged on the same caliber as one round? Aren't the crews wasting their time creating these routines then?
what he want to be. I would judge bboys regarding their skillz. And their skills are contextwise. i give you an example. If I want to be a powerhead like the end and if i am really good at it because i practiced 5 hours a day and dedicate myself to it, i will never be the best bboy among your system because i wouldn't fulfill you standards. I have to adapt myself to win. But could somebody say the end is less of a bboy or good just because he fell through the matrix.
gamblerz ftw!!!!!
You have to make sure that the routines goes foward, or crew battles btw. the R-16 are becaming useless.
Me and many professional bboys don't like the new one either.
Well then clearly Gamblerz was winning in battle tactics lol
And at 9:18 it is tied.
Here's how it went: Gamblerz got a 3, so they were leading by 2 points in Battle. MC gets a 4 and then Gamblerz gets a 2, therefore they are then tied at 9:18.
I don't see your problem.
Eh, it'll just take some time for it to sink in for me. xD
