I follow these seven steps with every dollification I do, and I hope more people will join me in my quest to dollify the world. Your steps for dollifying, should you choose to fulfill your customizing destiny, might be a bit different. Still, knowing how I do it can help you find your own path on the journey for more minidoll diversity. And I want to explain why so many of my dollify projects never get made.

2. Watch and read more about the character (optional)
3. Get reference images of the character
4. Cost-benefit analysis of the dollification

Yes, she did! I expressed myself inaccurately here. I should have said "no male torsos with red gloves and I was hesitant to exchange arms" and I wanted dark red for Scarlet Witch or no gloves. Hope I remember to tell the whole story next time! :)

When I made her, that was the darkest skintone LEGO was producing.

Painting the skin generally doesn't work. You paint the head, put on a hairpiece and your paintjob is destroyed. Paint the hands and the minidoll can't hold anything ever for the same reason. I like my painted minidolls to still have some resemblence to actual minidolls in the sense of usability, so I don't paint the head and hands.
