Thank you Carlo from 🇸🇪! You have helped me to find my HIFI nirvana. This is a fantastic integrated and probably one of the best ever made. Everything you put on it, sound fantastic.
Thanks; it's good to see that Technics are continuing, and improving upon, the digital amplification products designed by Takashi Kanai of Sony who developed the S-Master Pro systems twenty years ago. The new feedback and calibration processes, of both the inputs and outputs, are fantastic uses of the technology.
I think of 1976 when I think of Technics. Adjusting for inflation, $9,500 today was $1,800 then. Minimum wage was $2.30/hr in 1976 or $12.16/hr today. I’m glad Technics is still around!
Great job on this review. Other companies could learn from technics class D engineering they use in the 700. I've heard that unit it's amazing. I'd love to hear this big boy.
I have the Technics SU-G700M2 and the sound of it. And yes, I wish mine had a HDMI input as well but the Toslink works wonderfully in place of it. I'll never part with it. Great review by the way.
@@borginhoelloss100 I have the original version and not the Mk2 (SACD player). It's much better than my old Marantz SA15-S2. Better detail, bass, expression, timing, etc. I figured I'd get it to match the integrated and be done with it all. I don't stream or use any networking and just play CDs. Digital out sounds better than using the internal DAC and the RCA outs but it's really a preference.
If we are talking about weight the Michi X-5 is 95 pounds almost twice that of the Technics and the specs of the phono stage are far better (not a .00001 difference) important for us as we have 1,500 LPs. The Michi X-5 now in Version 2 said to have 95 new parts and an upgrade DAC; plus retails for $2,000 less 8k vs 10k has far more power and if other reviewers are to be trusted more oomph in the bass and mids; will you be testing it anytime soon?
I am still stuck on vintage Technics stuff that I do my best to keep in top-notch shape. I shall be looking into some new Technics stuff, set-up but must audition one first. I am still waiting for the ultimate reference models from the brand. Perhaps if Technics would come up with mono-blocks of power amps one day? To me, that is a must to compete in High-End realm.
Pair the SU R1000 with pair of Focal Sopra 1 and compliment it with the active sub Sopra SW1000 - I am confident you will not miss a rich and full sound also in the bass department 🙂
The Benchmark stack has a modestly more transparent presentation, but it is as close to a "straight wire with a gain" as you might find. The Technics is marketed to a whole different crowd with several additional features and a whole different philosophy about how it handles the audio signal.
I think the Technics would be just fine for the Maggie LRS+ and .7. For any of the larger models I would suggest and integrated amp with more power reserves or separates.

Great review, love the breakdown of component circuits. Love to listen to this amp myself, sounds like a wonderful piece of gear.

Great! Could you comment about SG-L 700MK2 SQ ? Thanks in advance

Amazing Technics
i paid 2k for my Rega Elex integrated. i use a Denafrips DAC with it. sounds excellent. not sure what i am missing. 75W works for me
So I use a denafrips dac and a Rose streamer....would it work with this amp? or am I decoding to recode?
What streaming divide is this? With screen display? Thanks
How does the sound compare to that Benchmark stack? I have heard the AHB2 and the pre-amp in my own system and liked them.

As you do not mention current or damping, how would this unit match up with Magnepan speakers?

❤😊
$10,000 is a lot of money and many, many products coming in under this price.
EI transformers?.
this sucks , garbage - AudioGD makes a superior product for a quarter of the price
What an immature comment , in your Opinion
