Monique, you are so sharp, quick witted and intelligent! This story was amazing. It reminded me of my father, coming from French-speaking Canada, moving from Ohio, Arizona, California then retiring with a beautiful lakefront property in Mississippi. Your Grandmother had that same spirit!
You grew up in South Florida? Cool! FWIW: I no longer live in Florida, but I was born & raised in St. Pete, and lived in Dade County from 1988 to 1995.
Hi Monique.Just discovered you on YT yesterday & have been bingewatching every show of yours I could find. Can't understand why you are not the biggest star on the comedy stage. You are the funniest lady I've ever seen and simply so smart in a worldwise way, giving real insightful advice intermixed with the jokes. You just seem to get men.And you are years 8 older than me,but look barely 35.Absolutely gorgeous.Probably good I don't live in the USA, otherwise I would come to one of your shows and propose.Glad to hear you are in a good place in your life. With your wisdom you would be a much better canditate for president than the idiots currently in the running.May you be blessed with the best of fortune forwards.
Dearest Shane, where do you live? After this message I may come propose to you!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! Truly made my weekend, week, heck month!!!! 🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
@@MoniqueMarvez Hi.So surprised and very happy that you actually had the time to reply. You've made my year! I live in one of the suburbs of Cape Town,South Africa.Don't know if you've ever been here.Beautiful country with so much potential, but currently being ruined by a corrupt government. But then again, where in the world do you find honest politicians.Kind of an oxymoron.Good thing for you is that our currency is a joke,so it's quite cheap for Americans or Europeans to come have a holiday here.Maybe your manager could arrange a few gigs/tour for you hereabouts sometime when the travel restrictions have been all lifted.Ciao
Love the family story. I didn't come to think about the Latino connection in our family until we moved to Miami (that was after we had lived in England, Ohio, and Michigan). But it wasn't until I had been married for nearly 20 years that Paula made some comment about my mon's accent. I asked, "What accent?" She remarked about how thick was my mom's accent. I answered in complete disbelief since I had never noticed it. But the next time I talked with her and every day after that, I heard how thick her accent was. I had been deaf to it for all my life.
Hi Monique, Similar to some of your fans who only recently "discovered" you (in my case, last night) I've been binge watching all your shows, sets, bits, etc. Feel I know you now. Recognize your personal growth as well as the evolution of your craft over the years. Glad I stumbled upon your comedy last night, and now your vlog. Hope all is well with you in these times. Am happy to know that live comedy shows are back, that you're out there gigging again, and I hope to catch your act in Vegas (or somewhere else) at some point. When the American/Canadian land border reopens, and maskless shieldless plexiglassless poker games return to Cali & Nevada, I'll be back with bells on too. I think you're terrific. Cheers from a new fangurl.
Gods below, did your family really roast a pig in the backyard? The European deli across the street introduced me to suckling pig. Read about it,but never tried it before. And now I understand the words people use to describe this magnificent sacrifice to taste buds. How I wish I could have been in the neighborhood and waft my way to the front yard in the hope of some tasty morsels. There is an Argentine tradition of roasting lamb in the backyard in a special grove of hedges that keep the wind out. Black Forest ham and Swiss cheese is a good sandwich, but roast piglet ? That is a whole other level of delicious. All the best, and I hope you continue the tradition.
