One aspect is also being so close to other European countries to be able to travel to different countries
Yes definitely! That's one of the main reasons why I actually moved here but I haven't been able to go anywhere because of the travel restrictions. But hopefully we'll all be able to travel again soon!
South Africa has a ski resort - in The Drakensburg! Proper pubs don't have TVs.
Not much snow where I live. Probably once every 4 years. South East
as soon as i saw this was a South African i just liked the video lol
How interesting how our previous living experiences shape our view of the country. I moved to the UK from Slovenia and was living in Switzerland before, so snow in the UK was huge disappointment for me. :) It was funny for me people went out and playing in the snow when there was just a hint of snow. :) I loved the pub culture, parks and all the cool free museums. :)
I can imagine that the snow here does not compare to what you are used to! 😄 I've never been to Slovenia but it looks like a beautiful country!
I'm English, but i love Slovenia:). I've visited Ljubljana, Bled, Maribor, Nova Goricia, Koper, Portoroz, Piran. Beautiful, clean country.
Looks so fun 🤩
Kan nie wag tot julle kan kom nie!! 😄🤗
Move here afrikaner are always welcome here.
I grew up in South Africa. You have the coolest South African English accent I’ve ever heard. Your short Es (rest, trend) are very extreme and I really dig it!!! Please do not let the UK influence your accent!!
Thanks, I guess I don't really think about it that much 😄 Maybe it's my Afrikaans/English mixture. Are you still in South Africa or did you move? Thanks for watching!
@@QuirkyLivingSim thanks for the reply! yeah we moved a long time ago to the US. actually my dad is American so it was kind of easy. thanks again for all the great videos!
Snow? Due to warming we hardly get snow. It just pisses down.
These are the sort of immigrants that we need in the UK 🇬🇧
Thanks mate I am a South African of English descent and after 5 generations I will move myself back to my ancestral home 🇬🇧
@driftydegree5624 welcome back brother 🙏
@@jamesmccann355 Thanks bro
Really appreciate your videos I just can't locate your video on what it cost to move to the UK thank u
Hey! Thanks so much for watching! I've made a video about how much it costs to get a UK spousal visa but not one covering all the moving costs. I'll definitely put this on my list, it's a great suggestion!
@@QuirkyLivingSim thank you so much appreciate it
If you want to learn to drive in the snow, find a empty carpark and drive around it at different speeds, that's how we learned as a teenager
Hi Sim, I'm also from south Africa and would love to move to England with my 3year old.what would reccomend is the best visa I can apply for🙏please assist
Are you of British or Afrikaner heritage? :)
I like the positivity . I really love SA’s (my gf is one) we currently live in canada but id love to eventually move back to Europe (im british) the winter here can really effect us both i miss having a bit of culture as north america lacks it big time .
I've heard the winter weather in Canada can be quite brutal, but it looks amazing as well, definitely a country that's on our bucket list!
Hoe can I find shared accomidation?I will be moving to UK on the 20 April
Like your accent!
Thanks! 😃
Not to mention how safe it is here compared to Oinga Boinga. And girls can go out at night safely without being hit on everywhere they go. Nobody will even look at them.
That’s 💯 incorrect. Women get harassed all the time in the UK and there’s so many women on waiting lists for counselling due to being sexually assaulted. Not sure what your information is based on but it’s not true.
Thats why most people from U.K emigrate to AUSTRALIA OR US ......
Welcome to England, (belatedly). No offence intended, but you don't have a very strong South African accent. Have you always lived in South Africa until 2019?
Thanks for the welcome! 😊 I've had a few comments on my accent, but yes, I was born in South Africa and lived there until 2019. Love living in the UK now!
@@QuirkyLivingSim We love South Africans, they are blood brothers :)
No mention of the people probably the most important
We really want to move, but we can't because South africa is on the red list in the UK
You can, but will need to quarantine in a hotel for ten days once you arrive.
@@francoiseblair3018 which I have to pay £1000 to £2000 per person in a hotel🥴
Yeah it's really expensive! 🤯 There is petition going around to get SA of the red list so hopefully something will come from that!
@@QuirkyLivingSim Oh, thanks. I never knew that there was a petition going on. Thanks for informing🖤
yeah go boy mina i won't survive because it cold in Europe
