I feel like the only reason low attack high level monsters existed back then was so they could show Dark Magician beating them and show how cool he is.
It's because of a problematic artifact of the game that existed prior to the Yugioh most of the world knows. Originally, Duel Monsters was extremely RP heavy in what is now called Season 0 of Yugioh. So, even if they are lower attack, putting them in the right circumstance ensures they can be stronger. This is actually what inspired the wackiness in the Duelist Kingdom arc, where the literal environment determined what the dueling field was like. and originally? Rather than getting like a 10% increase, it was 50% increase, so a rock monster like Sand Stone would be a 2050/2400 monster in a wasteland with a weird roleplay effect instead of an ass level 5 monster with 1300/1600 stats.
@@ab14967 what was the original point for the level stars? Those were across the board so we still lucked out a 2500 6 star and a 1800 4 star. Those few examples overrode the Atk standard so weaker monsters started out really weak and not the norm Atk strength of the game.
@@alfredgomez3128 funny enough before tributes existed it was simply the rarity of cards, which is why blue eyes is level 8 and why dark magician is level 7 and Summoned Skull is level 6. Summoned Skull was much much better than Dark Magician in the actual game but back then due to its card interactions and higher defense Dark Magician was better and thus rarer.

He was the king of all games, and the original season had him deal with opponents in a variety of games, some of which were literal gambling. The card game we all know today was likely something the author made up on the spot and be used for one time like the other "monster of the week" antagonists, so he just made random cards, put relative context for power with level and stats, then went with it, using roleplay to compensate for weaker cards that become strong with that in mind... then the popularity of THAT arc where they introduced it blew up, and slowly became the main focus, which is why the relative powers of the cards now are much more standardized than the first set, which was all over the place. For a watsonian/in-story reason? More powerful cards are rarer (there are only 4 Blue Eyes White Dragon cards ever printed in their world, for example), so weaker/lower rank cards are put in as budget options when they can't get the ones they want, or even not ever able to in some cases.

Maybe just something like banish one zombie monster from the GY and discard Polymerization to change the type of monster to zombie type, make it lose ATK equal to the ATK of the monster banished, effects negated, cannot be used as material or be tributed, cannot be destroyed, can't attack or block attacks, and if the ATK hits 0 it's sent to the GY. A bit busted? Maybe. Idk. Edit: also by battle city rules if you set spells before playing then you're allowed to activate them as SS2, oh and during your battle phase you can use them as SS2. It's tricky
Sword Hunter was actually one of my very first ever cards in yu-gi-oh when it first released. Although the card sucks, it will always have a special place in my heart.
After my cosmo queen and dark magician were stolen sword hunter was my best card until I got xyz dragon cannon. My favorite combo was to use United we stand on sword hunter and then just start hacking away at the opponents field as it would beat over most monsters.
Hyozanryu for me. While it wasn't amongst my very first cards, I got it very early on. And somehow it's place in my heart grew after some scoundrel stole my Mirror Force back then. It's been almost 20 years and I'm still salty about that.

I eventually got a blue eyes ultimate dragon and found a way to cheat it out of the fusion deck making it my best card but it wasn't all that easy to get out.
Sword hunter was really strong in my highschool. Since the original text said that the equipped monster "remains on the field until this card is destroyed", we thought that equiped monster had to stay in the opponent's monster zone as a equip spell until sword hunter is destroyed. So with each monster destroyed, it leaves the opponent with one less monster zone available on the field.
I find it funny that Weevil was going on about how great his Insect Queen was, but in reality it's no challenge at all. Just something to stomp on. Lol.

I love the artwork on the Maju cards so much. When I was a kid, I had all of them except legendary and would try to summon them all the time. Easily the coolest cards besides Endymion.
I believe Cockroach Knight was intended to be used as a combo with Insect Queen since it returns to the top of your deck whenever it gets destroyed so you can keep sacrificing it over and over.
Swordhunter was my first win condition. This was around... 2005? I had very little access to newer cards at the time Needless to say, I never pulled off summoning it

I always liked how some of Yu Gi Ohs worst cards end up having really solid artwork. Dreadscythe Harvester looks awesome, just not that great of a card.

Well to be fair, insect queen automatically has at least 2400 attack when she gets on the field since she gets a small boost for being a insect herself. And you can easily get her on the field via pinch hopper or resonance insect I believe. But still am happy she got an upgraded version of herself.
Top 10 cards that were seen bad in the early days of the game and became tier 1 or 0 later on (due legacy support and changes in meta). I mainly remember Royal Oppression being seen as trash until Blackwings came by and suddenly was a must have.
Royal Oppression was already carving a pretty solid space for itself by that point--either as a staple in stun decks, or a means of screwing over your opponent after you were done making plays. Vayu just pushed it into "lmao" territory.
I made a retrain of Ally of Justice Thunder Armour that kept the piercing damage, but was also special summonable if both players control at least 1 monster, with the opponent needing to have at least 1 LIGHT monster, and can add an Ally card from your deck to your hand if it destroys a monster by battle.
I have to say Sword hunter is my favourite card, back in the old days on the school yard it was great for keeping people from monster reborning their cards. It basically meant they couldn't tribute summon anything if I got him out early enough and they wouldn't be able to get anything out that could challenge my steadily strengthening monster. It'd only last so long most of the time, but those one or two turns before they figured out a counter usually won me the duel. And honestly in today's meta, keeping your opponents monsters out of their graveyard is better then it's ever been. Most of the time floating effects would probably still go off but other activated effects may not have.
Great Poseidon Beetle was actually used in the 5D's manga's first duel, and that was exactly how it was used. Yusei used a card to bring back a monster that had been destroyed in battle that turn, and also prevented it from being destroyed by battle for the rest of the turn, and his opponent used Poseidon Beetle to swing into it three times and deal massive damage to Yusei.
To be honest, he's little more than a cheater that has to use dirty tactics to get some advantage, and gets defeated anyway. At least Insect Queen is a bit easier to bring out than, say, Great Moth or its Perfectly Ultimate counterpart.
I mean it WAS pretty good in the source material especially for when it was around. I even made a deck with the real version of it back in the day. Wasn't good but it functioned.
@@horribleville yes for sure but even in later sets at least in duel links they love to give you useless cards. Plus when you unlock new duelists their decks are all useless trash vanilla monsters with one decent rare.
They always have. Even a lot of the rare cards back in the day were complete trash. When 1800 for a level 4 was considered good, any normal monster that was level 4 or less with less than 1800 attack was automatically trash. I'd love to have a look into how some of these cards are designed because as a kid I was convinced they made like 50% or more of the cards in every set unusable garbage to suck kids of their allowance as they bought endless booster packs in search of Jinzo or whatever. It's one thing I appreciate about Magic: The Gathering. There's very few monsters who can JUST attack with no other keywords/effects and even the seemingly bad cards can still be decent in the right decks. There's no deck in Yu-gi-oh where a level 3 monster with 700 attack and no effects is useful. It's just worthless. The early days of Yu-gi-oh were truly a lawless wasteland.
@@FreddyChoppins yes I completely agree.yugioh seems like a total cash grab with it's imbalance, power creep, and no man's cost system. I'm surprised it's so successful. I only like it due to nostalgia from anime. Overall I prefer magic the gathering but I am looking forward to Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duels. It adopts a more hearthstone style of gameplay and has a 8 turn limit so no annoying control matches that last an hour like in Yu-Gi-Oh and hearthstone. And the deck master/commander gimmick with leveling up your cards sounds fun. And the weak cards are useful now at least when using a specific deck master that relies on low level monsters.

It seems to me that the correct use of Maju Garzett isn't to dump two pre-existing boss monsters into an even bigger but wildly less practical boss monster It's to dump two Goblin Attack Forces into a perfectly ordinary 4600 beatstick with the very favorable Dark/Fiend typing
In the situation you described, Maju Garzett would have 5900 ATK, since Barbaros explicitly has an original ATK of 1900 when brought out without tributes and Maju gains ATK based on the tributes' original ATK.
The thing is, Maju Garzett looks at the original attack of the monsters in the gy (the order is monsters are tributed -> maju garzett is brought out -> maju garzett activates its effect) so back in the gy Barbaros has its old 3000 atttack back.
I love the new Insect Queen as its really strong and love its artwork. Fun to use and pretty easy to summon. Love using it on Duel Links mostly. Wish Weevil could use this card in future yugioh series.

As a Magic player, it's crazy to me that Diabolos isn't that good, because it's effect (looking at the top card of your opponents library, and then being able to put it on the bottom) is exactly the effect that got Jace the Mind Sculptor banned for 7 years.
what makes me really mad about Insect Queen is that in Duel Links, she has a really good summoning animation. However, that doesn't apply to Metamorphosed Insect Queen, which is REALLY good. Nope. Only that really bad card, which isn't even good when you cheat her out with Pinch Hopper.
I always wondered what Konami saw in the manga version of Insect Queen that they thought it needed to be nerfed for the anime/real card game. I mean, even if manga Insect Queen gains twice as much atk (400) on its effect (but excluding itself), doesn't require tribute to attack and doesn't force a battle position on the token it wouldn't be broken right? I just can't see it.
As someone who's poked around the meta of the time, I can verify it would have been perfectly fine, even in its OCG release. Removal cards were everywhere in those days, to the point that a 2600 beater that can pump up its stats was pretty risky. I guess they saw the potential for it to crack 6200 ATK and vastly overestimated it.
Facts Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember insect queen having the effect that it gain 400 Atk/def for every insect in play..smh it did have to tribute monsters to attack tho..but it was so power full cuz weevils tricky /set-up it was a probably.

In the anime it was like the irl card game, it gained 200 ATK for every insect and it did require tribute to attack. Weevil's setup did make it seem powerful but in hindsight it was only because in the manga/anime monster and backrow removal was pretty much non-existent.

You could use Sword Hunter on a Red Eyes stragegy, fuse It to create a Slash Dragon, then if the fusion Is destroyed, this card might pop up on Field, then if you can, revive the destroyed RE , AND this Is where the defense starts... Use SH to gain equipped cards from the opponent destroyed cards, AND the Slash Dragon to protect you from effects.
My guess with Diabolos was that the effect is TOO good to be on an easy to summon monster. Being able to control what your opponent can draw, even in a limited way, can win the game. In Magic, the term for that is “fate sealing” and it was the cornerstone of a meta deck where you played a bunch of cards that let you know what was on top of the opponent’s deck alongside mill effects with the idea of milling at the right time when your opponent is about to draw something good and force them to draw a dead card instead
No that is not a good effect in yu-gi-oh, decks are built in general on the principle that every single card should be good, therefore it doesn't matter that much if your opponent draws one card or another from his deck. And the monster in itself does nothing else.
I somehow missed at least one of the 3 Gate Guardian peaces. Lv 7 Monster with 2400, 2500 and 2600 atk, and the effect, if they got attacked, they can reduce the atk to 0. And that just once while it's on the field.
I had cyber end dragon on the field. This one dude some how special summon. And tribute two blue eyes for maju. Caught me off guard but was to easy to deal with next turn.
The Moon is light fairy aka you could bring it out with valhalla or celestial transformation or even photon sanctuary, and arcana force had a monster that in theory helped with tribute summoning. Ofc there was no reason to play it over Athena, The World or Darklords.
I would love to see a top 10 worst positive card effects. You mentioned in this video that increasing atk is a bad effect even if its positive. Would that effect be among the top 10? Thats a top 10 i suggest because you already have a top 10 of the best positive effects
There is a list of the worst cards that still have strictly positive effects. Number one is ancient telescope. And while increasing atk on its own is not bad, it can be too resource intensive. For example if you had a monster and used a spell that purely boosts its atk but your opponent destroys that monster, you basically traded two of your cards for one destruction effect of your opponent.

I Actually made a deck that makes good use of Maju Garzett, works well with Photon Sanctuary, and Kozmo Dog Fighter, and some others. Though of course the other Maju Garzetts are better. Sword HHunter would be fine if it wasn't for that one clause that says equip monsters only give him 200 ATK, and of course have to take up backrow space. If it was a bigger boost and/or gave some added effect or just didn't take up your backrow, it'd be remotely usable. Even in a deck specifically designed around turning opponent's monsters into equip cards on your monsters, it'd _still_ be unusable, as would the Allure Queen series.
You know, you could use something like Fists Of The Unrivaled Tenyi to bring out two Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragons for Maju Garzett, or Waking The Dragon for two copies of Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer. That's a pretty good way to get some big attack on the board. It's not, you know, the BEST, but you can do it.
I just want to mention that if you combo 2 moon and world you can effectively lock your opponent out of the game with no maintenance cost. Each moon generates a token at the start of your turn and you sac them to the world at the end of your turn to skip your opponent's turn. Obviously, it's more convenient to use Jam Breeding machine. But having it on the moon gives you a body to work with.
Sword Hunter Retrain pitch: Elite Sword Hunter - ESH gains half of the original ATK of each minster destroyed; if ESH would be destroyed by Battle or card effect, you can instead remove one of the monsters equipped to it.
With The Moon you could give your opponent it, which currently would not be that helpful because they could probably just link it off. But at the time it could be useful by giving your opponent one of the bad Arcana Effects like The Empress' Tails effect or itself
I just stumbled upon this video and I'm aware that it's a little over a year old but, I read the "Legendary Maju Garzett" effect as and I quote "This cards [ORIGINAL] attack becomes the attack of all the monsters tributed for it's special summon" is that not the correct way in interpreting it?

You missed something with deoblos there is a chance that if a second card comes out with the same effect and you can get both out consistently you chould essential stop them from drawing the other half of there combo.
correction: the highest level 6 monster atk isnt 2500, Frostosaurus and Trance the Magic Swordsman are both normal lvl 6 monsters with 2600 atk, making Sword Hunter just 50 atk stronger if it destroyed something in battle once. maybe Frostosaurus didnt get any competitive play since it came out early 2007, when Cyber Dragons and HERO cards were already a thing + weird water dinosaur typing and Trance came out much later in 2012, but they do exist and they are both stronger than Summoned Skull.

In duel links there is actually also a skill that gives you 100% heads on EVERY Arcana effect you activate and arcana is still terrible, though we don’t have the world. (I don’t blame him for not knowing about it, nobody uses it because it only works with arcana and the heads for first 3 tosses skill was top tier in a barrel dragon deck).
My baby bro used Maju Garazet against me. Tributed 2 1800 atk monsters, and then went to town. 3600 atk in OG Yu-Gi-Oh is hard to beat. We were poor, we got 1 pack each, every month. That was all that we got, as in all. Except for my birthday and Christmas, or used toys from my family

I mean, Insect Queen is at least very easy to summon now with the Weevil legacy support

I believe Cockroach Knight was intended to be used as a combo with Insect Queen since it returns to the top of your deck whenever it gets destroyed so you can keep sacrificing it over and over.

You can also use the effect to send over _Heraldic Beast Basilisk_ to crash _Number C1000: Numerounius_ into it, thus if you cheat out _Number C1000: Numerounius_ and then crash into Basilisk, you can more easily get out _Number iC1000: Numerounius Numerounia_ to potentially win you the game then and there.

Well to be fair, insect queen automatically has at least 2400 attack when she gets on the field since she gets a small boost for being a insect herself. And you can easily get her on the field via pinch hopper or resonance insect I believe. But still am happy she got an upgraded version of herself.
Maju Garzett has a lot of support being a Fiend type. It’s also a good card in Duel Links. I’m not gonna let my boy take #10.
Top 10 cards that were seen bad in the early days of the game and became tier 1 or 0 later on (due legacy support and changes in meta). I mainly remember Royal Oppression being seen as trash until Blackwings came by and suddenly was a must have.
Royal Oppression was already carving a pretty solid space for itself by that point--either as a staple in stun decks, or a means of screwing over your opponent after you were done making plays. Vayu just pushed it into "lmao" territory.
I made a retrain of Ally of Justice Thunder Armour that kept the piercing damage, but was also special summonable if both players control at least 1 monster, with the opponent needing to have at least 1 LIGHT monster, and can add an Ally card from your deck to your hand if it destroys a monster by battle.
Man, and some of these artworks are so cool too, Konami loves to waste good art with terrible card effects

I have to say Sword hunter is my favourite card, back in the old days on the school yard it was great for keeping people from monster reborning their cards. It basically meant they couldn't tribute summon anything if I got him out early enough and they wouldn't be able to get anything out that could challenge my steadily strengthening monster.
It'd only last so long most of the time, but those one or two turns before they figured out a counter usually won me the duel.
And honestly in today's meta, keeping your opponents monsters out of their graveyard is better then it's ever been. Most of the time floating effects would probably still go off but other activated effects may not have.
Great Poseidon Beetle was actually used in the 5D's manga's first duel, and that was exactly how it was used. Yusei used a card to bring back a monster that had been destroyed in battle that turn, and also prevented it from being destroyed by battle for the rest of the turn, and his opponent used Poseidon Beetle to swing into it three times and deal massive damage to Yusei.

To be honest, he's little more than a cheater that has to use dirty tactics to get some advantage, and gets defeated anyway. At least Insect Queen is a bit easier to bring out than, say, Great Moth or its Perfectly Ultimate counterpart.
I mean it WAS pretty good in the source material especially for when it was around. I even made a deck with the real version of it back in the day. Wasn't good but it functioned.

@@horribleville yes for sure but even in later sets at least in duel links they love to give you useless cards. Plus when you unlock new duelists their decks are all useless trash vanilla monsters with one decent rare.
They always have. Even a lot of the rare cards back in the day were complete trash. When 1800 for a level 4 was considered good, any normal monster that was level 4 or less with less than 1800 attack was automatically trash. I'd love to have a look into how some of these cards are designed because as a kid I was convinced they made like 50% or more of the cards in every set unusable garbage to suck kids of their allowance as they bought endless booster packs in search of Jinzo or whatever.
It's one thing I appreciate about Magic: The Gathering. There's very few monsters who can JUST attack with no other keywords/effects and even the seemingly bad cards can still be decent in the right decks. There's no deck in Yu-gi-oh where a level 3 monster with 700 attack and no effects is useful. It's just worthless. The early days of Yu-gi-oh were truly a lawless wasteland.
@@FreddyChoppins yes I completely agree.yugioh seems like a total cash grab with it's imbalance, power creep, and no man's cost system. I'm surprised it's so successful. I only like it due to nostalgia from anime. Overall I prefer magic the gathering but I am looking forward to Yu-Gi-Oh Cross Duels. It adopts a more hearthstone style of gameplay and has a 8 turn limit so no annoying control matches that last an hour like in Yu-Gi-Oh and hearthstone. And the deck master/commander gimmick with leveling up your cards sounds fun. And the weak cards are useful now at least when using a specific deck master that relies on low level monsters.

It seems to me that the correct use of Maju Garzett isn't to dump two pre-existing boss monsters into an even bigger but wildly less practical boss monster
It's to dump two Goblin Attack Forces into a perfectly ordinary 4600 beatstick with the very favorable Dark/Fiend typing
In the situation you described, Maju Garzett would have 5900 ATK, since Barbaros explicitly has an original ATK of 1900 when brought out without tributes and Maju gains ATK based on the tributes' original ATK.
The thing is, Maju Garzett looks at the original attack of the monsters in the gy (the order is monsters are tributed -> maju garzett is brought out -> maju garzett activates its effect) so back in the gy Barbaros has its old 3000 atttack back.
I love the new Insect Queen as its really strong and love its artwork. Fun to use and pretty easy to summon. Love using it on Duel Links mostly. Wish Weevil could use this card in future yugioh series.

I love the gren maju de eiza card, i run it in my modified guardian dreadscythe deck as a side strategy to using the trap card skull lair.
For the #7 entry one notable use is comboing it with the card Half Shut. Though Vision Hero Trinity is a better use if you wanna go that route.

I always wondered what Konami saw in the manga version of Insect Queen that they thought it needed to be nerfed for the anime/real card game. I mean, even if manga Insect Queen gains twice as much atk (400) on its effect (but excluding itself), doesn't require tribute to attack and doesn't force a battle position on the token it wouldn't be broken right? I just can't see it.
As someone who's poked around the meta of the time, I can verify it would have been perfectly fine, even in its OCG release. Removal cards were everywhere in those days, to the point that a 2600 beater that can pump up its stats was pretty risky. I guess they saw the potential for it to crack 6200 ATK and vastly overestimated it.

Facts Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember insect queen having the effect that it gain 400 Atk/def for every insect in play..smh it did have to tribute monsters to attack tho..but it was so power full cuz weevils tricky /set-up it was a probably.
@@jayclearmen411 The manga version gained 400 ATK for every other insect and required no tributes to attack. In the anime it was like the irl card game, it gained 200 ATK for every insect and it did require tribute to attack.
Weevil's setup did make it seem powerful but in hindsight it was only because in the manga/anime monster and backrow removal was pretty much non-existent.
@@HoveringAboveMyself The tokens it summoned were also stronger: 1200 ATK versus 100 ATK. Still not great, but having a 1200-ATK monster out is at least less troublesome than a 100-ATK monster.

You could use Sword Hunter on a Red Eyes stragegy, fuse It to create a Slash Dragon, then if the fusion Is destroyed, this card might pop up on Field, then if you can, revive the destroyed RE , AND this Is where the defense starts... Use SH to gain equipped cards from the opponent destroyed cards, AND the Slash Dragon to protect you from effects.
My guess with Diabolos was that the effect is TOO good to be on an easy to summon monster. Being able to control what your opponent can draw, even in a limited way, can win the game. In Magic, the term for that is “fate sealing” and it was the cornerstone of a meta deck where you played a bunch of cards that let you know what was on top of the opponent’s deck alongside mill effects with the idea of milling at the right time when your opponent is about to draw something good and force them to draw a dead card instead
No that is not a good effect in yu-gi-oh, decks are built in general on the principle that every single card should be good, therefore it doesn't matter that much if your opponent draws one card or another from his deck. And the monster in itself does nothing else.

Lv 7 Monster with 2400, 2500 and 2600 atk, and the effect, if they got attacked, they can reduce the atk to 0. And that just once while it's on the field.
I had cyber end dragon on the field. This one dude some how special summon. And tribute two blue eyes for maju. Caught me off guard but was to easy to deal with next turn.

The Moon is light fairy aka you could bring it out with valhalla or celestial transformation or even photon sanctuary, and arcana force had a monster that in theory helped with tribute summoning. Ofc there was no reason to play it over Athena, The World or Darklords.

I would love to see a top 10 worst positive card effects. You mentioned in this video that increasing atk is a bad effect even if its positive. Would that effect be among the top 10? Thats a top 10 i suggest because you already have a top 10 of the best positive effects
There is a list of the worst cards that still have strictly positive effects. Number one is ancient telescope.
And while increasing atk on its own is not bad, it can be too resource intensive. For example if you had a monster and used a spell that purely boosts its atk but your opponent destroys that monster, you basically traded two of your cards for one destruction effect of your opponent.

I Actually made a deck that makes good use of Maju Garzett, works well with Photon Sanctuary, and Kozmo Dog Fighter, and some others. Though of course the other Maju Garzetts are better.
Sword HHunter would be fine if it wasn't for that one clause that says equip monsters only give him 200 ATK, and of course have to take up backrow space. If it was a bigger boost and/or gave some added effect or just didn't take up your backrow, it'd be remotely usable. Even in a deck specifically designed around turning opponent's monsters into equip cards on your monsters, it'd _still_ be unusable, as would the Allure Queen series.
This video has a few old cards in it, which is great! How about Top 10 Cards From Legend of Blue Eyes All Things Considered?
You know, you could use something like Fists Of The Unrivaled Tenyi to bring out two Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragons for Maju Garzett, or Waking The Dragon for two copies of Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer. That's a pretty good way to get some big attack on the board.
It's not, you know, the BEST, but you can do it.
I just want to mention that if you combo 2 moon and world you can effectively lock your opponent out of the game with no maintenance cost. Each moon generates a token at the start of your turn and you sac them to the world at the end of your turn to skip your opponent's turn.
Obviously, it's more convenient to use Jam Breeding machine. But having it on the moon gives you a body to work with.
Unfortunately, The World has to "send to the graveyard" for its effect, which means you can't use tokens.

Sword Hunter Retrain pitch: Elite Sword Hunter - ESH gains half of the original ATK of each minster destroyed; if ESH would be destroyed by Battle or card effect, you can instead remove one of the monsters equipped to it.
With The Moon you could give your opponent it, which currently would not be that helpful because they could probably just link it off. But at the time it could be useful by giving your opponent one of the bad Arcana Effects like The Empress' Tails effect or itself

I just stumbled upon this video and I'm aware that it's a little over a year old but, I read the "Legendary Maju Garzett" effect as and I quote "This cards [ORIGINAL] attack becomes the attack of all the monsters tributed for it's special summon" is that not the correct way in interpreting it?

correction: the highest level 6 monster atk isnt 2500, Frostosaurus and Trance the Magic Swordsman are both normal lvl 6 monsters with 2600 atk, making Sword Hunter just 50 atk stronger if it destroyed something in battle once.
maybe Frostosaurus didnt get any competitive play since it came out early 2007, when Cyber Dragons and HERO cards were already a thing + weird water dinosaur typing and Trance came out much later in 2012, but they do exist and they are both stronger than Summoned Skull.

In duel links there is actually also a skill that gives you 100% heads on EVERY Arcana effect you activate and arcana is still terrible, though we don’t have the world.
(I don’t blame him for not knowing about it, nobody uses it because it only works with arcana and the heads for first 3 tosses skill was top tier in a barrel dragon deck).
