Great video and you dealt with the historical issues of the war quite well. It's worth pointing out that the combination of the blockade and the loss of the Mississippi was lethal to the Confederacy.

Thanks for watching!!! Definitely the combo or blockade and control of Mississippi did critical damage, they over prioritized the army of Virginia

Great video. Just finished a book called confederate Goliath, about siege of fort fisher/wilmington. Unbelievable story.

I’ll have to add that to my list! The siege of fort fisher is incredible, and not talked about enough

That's where butler tried the demolition/explosion ship right? I heard it failed, but don't know any details

@@steventhompson399 ya they set it off too early, got spooked or something but it was way too far away. I think it was the largest explosion in history until possibly the ww1 British tunnel explosion under the Germans

"But the ships slip through to the end of the war/From Wilmington to the Rio Grande/And the sandy Bahamas are Dixie Land/Where the crammed dark shadows start for the trip/Which, once clear run will pay for the ship./....The unrecorded skippers and mates/Whom even their legend expurgates/The tough daredevils from twenty ports/Who thumbed their noses at floating forst/For a cause, or a laugh, or a living wage/Whe gnawed at the bars of a giant cage/And for four long years of night/Pumped new blood to a vein bled white." Stephen Vincent Benet John Brows's Body. Read it if you haven't it's a wonderful book. The quote is from mermory with apolgies for any mistaked. Another great video, thank you very much.

This is similar to the debate about weather the allied strategic bombings of Germany during ww2 was effective. It's a non argument about strategic potentials.

Your editing of modern video clips greatly distracts from the quality of the subject

Fair! Still trying to figure out b roll balance, especially for older topics without existing footage
