You can get some PVC pipe and cut to rod length and add screw on caps and that's the best way to protect you rods whilst traveling. You can paint the PVC and add decals if you want to be fancy🎣🐠🐟
Great video Ryan! When I see an upload from you, I know it’s going to have excellent content. Then I realized that your voice makes me think of Walter Cronkite as you are such a great storyteller. It’s why 55 minutes flies by so fast.
The fishing was real and slow at times and then full on elation with those awesome catches. The cook portion really brought it home for me as it was simple awesome presentation and preparation to make the fish clean and fresh.
Wish I could apply for the trip, but as a Canadian, I cannot apply.

Dude this is so cool to see, especially since I own property 30-45 mins from Puerto Jimenez depending on how bad the road is to my place. Place is called Tres Palmas. It’s not a Hilton be any means but it’s in the middle of the rainforest on matapalo. You have got to go when the tuna a running hard haha.

That red fish is a red mullet in Australia its a type of goat fish, best fish for cancer it's orange blood. Great videos keep up the good work Ryan 👏

The little tropical fish you got while catching bait is the same as our red mullet here in south Australia, good bait and not too bad to eat. They rarely get caught much bigger than that

I love your channel because I can see you are the master of zingers(what we say in my line of work(cop lol)), but you truly enjoy what you do, and I don't blame you. I've realized that you have made your channel another unique path to being different from other channels(which is awesome for promoting yourself). As a youtuber, I love your jokes and personality. How you use your background music to you narrating is awesome. You've really made a cool way to your videos. Any time you find bait like that? Clip dorsal fin & bottom half of tail fin so it flashes silver silhouette and cast it back into that same school. Something is feeding on them. Guaranteed and you just made your particular bait? A giant bulls eye target

Dang brother, living the good life. I can't begin to explain to you how much I would LOVE to take my wife and our two sons on this same trip. Definitely going to be newly found goals for me to accomplish eventually. Hopefully soon because I'm 40 now and while I do make a good living, our bills take the majority of my paychecks, and our boys are teenagers already.

Those "sneaker snappers" taste amazing. Like, not just good -- Excellent. I have no idea who told you they don't taste good but it was probably someone who didn't want to have to clean them (gnarly scales and tough pinbones make them a little bit of a chore)

Pretty sure that red tropical fish you didn’t know what it was is a southern red snapper. As opposed to a “northern” red snapper like you catch in the states.
That Mexican barred snapper is delicious. Ate one in CR. They lied about the sneaker taste nonsense 😉

hey ryan. there is this brand called kastking and they make a reel called the kapstan elite. seems to have all the bells and whistles like these big name brands but with a cheaper price tag. the thing is there isnt much videos about them out there. could you make a video of one?

I had to go to court because a game warden didn't know there was different species of snook. We had tarpon snook which there was no size or limit on! We won but sucked that I had to go to court for something they should know with their job!!
