    Engine sound seems very good - one of the best simulations of the early Merlin that I have heard in MSFS. Lack of vibrations, particularly on start-up, is very disappointing. I do wish AH would pay more attention to these immersive details, especially at this price point!

      I concur about the sounds, they will be putting these onto their Spitfires too, which will be great! 🙂

      FS Realistic might solve the lack of shaking issue.

    Thanks for presenting this my favourite aircraft in MSFS an absolute dream to fly. I love the textures, sound and handling, I fly with the canopy cracked open, I fly VR and it is a treat.

    Just one tiny detail on the engine should be ROLLS-ROYCE when I worked for Rolls-Royce they were very particular about the hyphen in the name and if remember its in the name is on the merlin engine in the museum in training centre in Derby.
    Apart from that its really good thanks for doing this another great video

      Quite right - I worked at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Crewe many years ago, and yes, always the hyphen. Also, when Rolls and Royce were alive, both of the R's in the logo were red - when they died, they were changed to black, and for a time, one was red and one was black!

    Excellent and enjoyable presentation as always, and it looks totally magnificent over the south of England! And a bonus dead stick landing!

    That 'STOL' take-off run is ridiculously short, even for a tarmac runway. I've read on their FB page that AH are looking into it.

    Thank you as always for your wonderful presentations. Very quick of the mark to review these latest addons, which is appreciated. Like my MSFS hangar, I am now applying for planning permission to extend it by a few hundred feet !! lol !. wallet getting smaller, hangar getting larger. ✈. Seriously speaking I wish AH would do some more work on this addon, as some of the good people below in the comments have mentioned, start up vibration would be good, also if you notice the texturing on the outside are a bit too lo res if you zoom in a little. Also the texture wear and tear on the wing ( representing a metallic wear), it looks as though AH have dulpicated this "brush effect" onto the fuselage skin, which obviously is not metal. Not sure about the sound set, hmm, needs a bit of fine tuning. Some system oddities all round really. Just um meh!, holding back from a purchase at the moment. Compared with the Flyingirons Spitfire, some extra work is needed on this addon. I will wait to see if AH respond to the community, and if they will update this addon some time in the future. It is an expensive price point for this addon, which really needs some more work. Thank you for your excellent channel and continued good work.

    Looking good, couple of things, is there any sort of vibration going on in the cockpit, and does it spew out smoke when starting up? I do wish in MSFS they had the feature that IL2 has, where you can’t ‘look through’ the cockpit when in Track IR - does my head in! Surely it’s not too hard to have the view constrained to the cockpit?

    great video, rushed release.. mixture lever useless even when mousing. random tail hook deployment on spawn. vr position offset outside aircraft as default. tailwheel/rudder flicking about all over the place while taxiing and T/O random prop issues where it just fails in air and bends up as if crashed, but aircraft is still running .primer doesnt work..just locks/unlocks . its really poor, but expected from a developer that has had all these issues and more in the past, but generally slowly fix them, except audio quality issues. they use a similar 4 second lazy sample on the chipmunk, so its basically a psychological warfare torture device unless you mute it.

    • @Echo19Audio
      @Echo19Audio 4 місяці тому +1

      As the audio developer on this particular aircraft (or at least the engine side), we strongly disagree. The sounds have been vetted by real world pilots, and you’ll soon hear about an upcoming patch that addresses some of the community’s concerns with the interior sounds. Other than that; it’s very authentic for the Merlin on this Hurricane.

    • @dizzychoonz
      @dizzychoonz 4 місяці тому +2

      @@Echo19Audio an update on the interior engine audio loop is welcomed. and its the interior engine loop audio on the chipmunk thats torture, this is not in the same league. exterior sound is fantastic. The best i,ve heard on a merlin ( yes, that includes the real aircraft) as for the bulk of my issues, well thats another departments problem. so crack on and if youre the audio dev on the chipmunk, then 30 seconds at cruise in the cockpit should remind you. ,although after two years i highly doubt anyone gives a crap anymore.

    LMAO at tailwheel steering on a Hurricane! And only ONE landing lamp at a time can be lit on a Hurricane, the old-school lightswitch just decides which side is lit. Sorry Devs but this is a very flawed model of a Hurricane. There's no vibration visible inside the cockpit, the main wheels don't have any camber at all (when the type is famous for it). The number of stringers in the rear fuselage is incorrect. Hurricanes are known for wing-drop stall (can be beyond 90deg in landing configuration), and distinct nose-down trim change if too much yaw is allowed to creep in - part of the reason why only two full turns of spin is advised before standard recovery is applied. The chord of the outer flap seems to match the inboard chord of the aileron which is incorrect. And I bet hundreds of WW2 pilots wished their Hurricanes had a 4-second take-off roll. I will not be buying this - no amount of patching will sort out these disappointments.
