As another Billie Holiday obsessed gal, I can hear her influence in you, and it makes me so happy! But of course, vocally you put your own spin on it and its just so original….your voice is just mesmerizing! This song is just GORGEOUS! So glad I found this song on the John Mayer channel of SiriusXM. Its like if a refreshing cool spring day was a song….its on repeat! ❤🥰😍

Hi, read your comment as first in line. It struck me that you mentioned B. Holiday, I now wonder if Madeleine in fact did Billy Holiday covers - I guess it would even be misleading as she could be her... 2nd I wonder if you did know that the original is by Bob Dylan, not Holiday. Thank you for letting me speak up, cheers!

@@peterbernhard7415 Yes of course I knew that this was a Dylan cover. But the way she sings, her phrasing and tone of her voice give it away that she is a huge Billie fan.
      Takes one to know one.

@@Purplealegria7 Wow. I thank you and I thank UA-cam for enabling me to receive what truly seems a personalized reply that is just the opposite of being, sorry, had some life times, mobbing (a word that did not exist when Billie was still alive, btw. why? Because disdrimination was segregation and formal, agian, my experiences with UA-cam are so positive, I write this - to you - i.e. I even dare to be bubbly to a hand that feeds me, that's an idiom from the German). Your reply is very fine! I feel understood, in my uneasiness about using the word "misleading". However, the irony seemed to have worked. To be true, in discription I did not find mentioned Bob Dylan, I found out doing search on Billie Holliday, if I remember well.
I am a newbie to all this, and I very much cherrish that you cared to answer in such truthful and friendly way, "let me tell you", sorry about my bubbly mood, which I thank you for as I did above.
P.S. I find it interesting that the parallel in timbre to Hollieday would never have occurred to me without your hint. 2nd, I hold you on higher grounds, you sure got expertise I lack.
no need to reply any further. Again, thanks! Cheers!

@@Purplealegria7 I hope my first "thank you" will show up soon... Very valuable hint you gave to me who did not know on John Mayer - in the context of Bob Dylan. That might be Bob Dylan speaking - in some different timbre. So good, it's all lyrics, that man's talking. More and more, I wonder what there is about Bob Dylan - to me there are quite a few people who fully understand what he says. If my talents are to the other side, I therefrom derive - sorry, for my typing away, thank you - that Billie Holliday may in fact be differentiated in her timbre, and you made me eager to find out about it.

It’s impossible to cover Dylan and keep the original feeling of the song.

It's not easy to do such an outstanding own version, maybe you already implied.

Covers of Dylan songs are frequently better than the original.

@@HamptonDoubledayJr maybe the original but rarely the *best* version performed by Dylan himself...obviously "best" is subjective! It's all subjective, to be fair.
