Yea Alan Alda played Senior Attending Physician Dr Gabriel Lawerence on ER in a guest role and appeared in 6 episodes in season 6. His character had beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and retired from his position. Dr Lawrence said he served during Korea in U.S. Army which is believed to be a nod to Alan Alda’s role as Dr Hawkeye Pierce on MASH.
It's a miracle that the actors were able to get through their lines as well as they did. The technical terminology alone must have been a huge challenge.
It is great that they had fun on set. I worked in the trenches as med/surg RN and we seldom had moments like that. AS much as I love nursing, the stress is tremendous and I can't do it anymore.
SPOILER ALERT IN THIS COMMENT!!!! I will always and forever LOVE this show. Especially the earlier seasons. Mostly up until Dr. Mark Greene aka Anthony Edwards dies! He was my favorite character and when he passed away from a brain tumor it broke my heart. But I kept watching till the end.
Why would Weaver tell Corday that Mark passed away in the 6th season? I know she messed up the line, but Mark doesn't even die until the end of the 8th season.
Yes Sarah Gilbert appeared on er in guest starring role as a med student in several episodes between seasons 11-13 while Alan Alda appeared earlier in the shows run in season 6 in 6 episodes as Senior Attending physician Dr Gabriel Lawrence and his character even states he served in US Army during the Korean War which was believed to have been a nod to Alan Alda and his role as Dr Benjamin Hawkeye Pierce on Mash
I gotta say....this is the perfect show to binge watch during quarantine. I'm so glad it's still around.

I've liked this show over the years. They did a good job transitioning characters, as well as transitioning in and off the show.
I didn’t care for John Stamos or that obnoxious Archie.
Pretty realistic for a teaching hospital. I grew to like the revolving door of docs.
