I saw them in concert in Joplin, MO back in 87 on their "THIS MEANS WAR TOUR" & Stephen Curtis Chapman opened for them. I so wanted to talk to the members of Petra being a BIG fan but they did their set and left so fast your head could spin. But I did get to spend an hour talking to Stephen Curtis Chapman (which at that time was just rising to fame - never heard of him before). I can tell you this, Stephen was so genuine and down to earth. He gave me encouragement to continue with my music.

I used to listen to this song over and again when I had no friends or anyone to lean against. I was a false-convert back then and I was so lonely and sad. Many hours and miles away my future wife sat in her room listening to the same song. Yeesh...I wish I could have met her earlier in life.
When American Christian Rock unintentionally sounds like secular J-Pop! LOL! Though no longer a believer, I'm respectful to people of faith until they start denying science and hiding their homophobia behind Christianity. Most of Petra's music sounds like it belongs behind an 80s workout montage or A-Team/Steven Segal "Weapons Modification" sequence. During this song, I'm imagining a 2 or 3 guys of different ethnic backgrounds running, doing MMA, lifting weights, attaching silencers to firearms, testing a grenade launcher and just generally preparing for a big fight/car chase sequence against Neo Nazis, Communists or the Japanese Mob. The white guy is either Stallone or van Damme and there's a black and/or Hispanic guy and one of them has a wife in the hospital fighting for her life because of the Nazis/Communists/Japanese Mob. She will pull though at the end and if wasn't Christian Rock, this song will be in a beer-commercial in 6 months and this movie will be on VHS at Blockbuster Video.
