- Here's my full walking tour of Ambassador Ambition, the newest ship in the Ambassador cruise line fleet! Put your feet up, grab a drink and some nibbles while I do all the walking and give you information about all the outdoor deck spaces, all the venues (bars, lounges, theatre, restaurants, spa, gym etc), deck plans and a peep in my ocean view cabin, cabin 7107. A good looking cruise ship I love the colours around the ship. I noticed in the Buckingham restaurant how well the tables were laid & serviettes design were of a high standard. Very skilled staff. Sadly no water in the pools, it's a wonder that the captain did not have a revolt on his hands. An excellent tour of the ship. Well done Jamie.

We were onboard early December for six nights. Had a great time and would happily cruise on her again. For the size of the ship she was quite spacious and much easier to find a seat inside than on Sky Princess on a non hot weather cruise. Was not keen on the MDR buffet breakfast set up but we found getting there early avoided the crush. The main pool was filled once or twice during our cruise, didn’t see anyone in it but the hot tubs were used. We had a lot of snow on deck after our call to Hamburg, the crew did a good of getting rid of that to enable us to walk around the deck. A big bonus for us is that Tilbury is very convenient.

Our short cruise reminded me a bit of our cruises from over 20 years ago but less formal, we have very fond memories of our early cruises It certainly had a different vibe to our recent cruise on Virtuosa, we enjoyed that one as well.
Sailed on Ambition on the last Christmas Cruise and the pools were only filled once south of the Bay of Biscay, great to cool of in around the Canary Islands, great ship with friendly and helpful crew
She’s not for me but I can see why people would like her!
Also going to be my first time on Ambassador. Just booked a great solo deal for a 6 night cruise in April. Very small single supplement with half price premium (expedition) all inclusive package (£21.50 per night), so only £581 for everything.

Those heaters in Lupinos are VERY efficient. Had to switch off after just a few minutes, they got so hot! But very good that we had control of them when required.

Very comprehensive ship tour. I really like the layout of the ship and I do generally prefer smaller ships. I particularly liked the outside buffet area as I like eating breakfast outside with a great view.
Very disappointing to see all pools empty. I appreciate maintenance needs to be done at times but there should always be at least one pool available in my opinion. Thanks Jamie!
It sounds like this is a regular occurrence with pools. I also like the look / layout of this ship which is why it’s such a shame other aspects were so poor
I have 2 other vlogs with empty pools from 2&4 months ago , maybe they leak ?

Thanks Jamie, great tour - well-paced, informative and thorough. Cruised Borealis, prompted by watching a video of yours (excellent ship) and contemplating Ambition as FO prices rocketing. Need to see how well Ambassador deal with the Ambience hic-ups and rescheduling iver the next few months, hopefully they'll keep the pools full too. Prefer the smaller ships with low pax/crew ratio. One thing that confused me is in spite of this being a smaller ship it felt very busy and times I couldn’t get a seat in a bar. A first for me on a smaller ship!
This is a small ship , I do like the look of Ambition but they would need to do a few bits , fill the pools , proper breakfast in MDR , be able to get a seat and drink in the bars . We did like the cabin , shower was tiny 👍😁. Keep cruising to the next video , maybe a review of Maleth aero 👍

This was a brilliant tour Jamie so good that you walked around all the decks. Having been on Ambience we are now considering Ambition for a cruise this year The one thing that is putting me off is the lack of seating on the Promenade deck and also the lack of terrace decking at the back of the ship. Still not sure although the inside all looks nice and we love the Ambassador line for its friendliness and wonderful value for money.

Nice review. I like "Ambition", but in my opinion "Ambience" is a little more spacious is a little more spacious and feel a little more upmarket.

Looks like a lovely ship, im looking forward to trying a smaller ship this year (Borealis) after a year of mega ships in 2023. I would give it a whirl if the price was right, I love that the spa facilities are included.

Shame about empty pools, I'd only expect pools to be emptied out if they're expecting rough seas. On the other hand, the spa area and sauna looks fabulous. Great that it's free to use.
We would definitely give Ambassador a go if the price was right.

Great tour and I do like those older traditonal style ships. Looked very clean and neat and tastefull, apart from the exterior, which for me, the purple and green colour scheme makes it look a bit cheap. Works for Wimbledon, but not so effective on this.

Did the 2 night taster cruise earlier this month. The pools were filled on the sea day. But was too cold to use them. Was VERY impressed overall with every aspect of Ambassador. And again with the festive lunch we did with my elderly parents mid December. It beats P&O hands down in our opinion, much like cruising used to be pre-covid. Turn down service, chocolates on pillows, staff actually enjoying their jobs. Friendliest staff at sea in our opinion. Felt it came VERY close to Celebrity, which is our cruise company of choice (money depending)

I felt the ship looked dated but that's what cruising is all about some like the Titanic others Pand O I personally like a more modern cruise liner
Oh blimey I couldn’t disagree more! I won’t be sailing with them again in a hurry. One of the worst I’ve ever had in over 60 cruises unfortunately. Our current P&O cruise knocking socks off that experience last week.
I’m not worried about the ‘look’ of a ship overly, I just want good service and that’s not what I got
Was there no water in the pools for the whole cruise? When we were onboard.. we just assumed that they were draining it for your cruise.. we would generally be so annoyed if this happened to us! 😡 🐻

I’ve found out from others that this regularly happens and Ambassador quite the weather which wasn’t a factor, so I can only assume it’s a cost cutting measure
@@TravelBlogJamie There was no such issue on the Ambience. Pools open for the full 5 weeks sailing the Med. Would anybody really use the pool on a Christmas break? Just a thought.
@@bannan61 of course they would - I’ve used pools in the winter months on every other cruise line. As for ambience, such a shame it was out of service for so long and cruises cancelled (same as last December, I believe?)
@@TravelBlogJamie The average age of cruisers on Ambience last year must have been 70. Hardly anyone used the pool even in the Med. However, I agree that in general pools should be open.

Who chose purple and green? Those colours just dont got together - nor do purple swimming pools work. Lots of areas looked very nice but others a bit cheap (the seating on the outside eating areas looked a bit sad). Loved the spa area with views from the saunas -

They have lifts / accessible cabins so you should be able to access almost all parts of the ship
Booked my 31 day Med 2026 yes 26 cruise. Had originally booked a Norwegian Epic cruise 2026 but saw a blog on its terrible state. Its too big a ship, this is my size. Will go on the 2027 Carribbean cruise also for 40 days. As a solo Ambassador charges reasonably.

I have chatted with you before...I don't much like P&O these days but I find Princess really suits me...I have looked at this cruise line and it looks ok to me so might try it but on their other newer ship which I think does have a casino. Hi! By that I presume you mean cruising in general rather than this ship in particular?
If so, I encourage you to try it. I know several people (including myself) that were sceptical but then tried it and our now hooked on cruise holidays!
Doing our first cruise on P&O Iona in May to the Fjords. If we enjoy then would like to do QM2 or the new Queen Anne 🤷🏼♀️
