My college had a theater group that mainly did G&S plays. They did a production of Patience that replaced the aestheticism with existentialism, and it was hilarious. I wish it had been recorded.
This particular production was borrowed from the English National Opera, originally staged in 1969, ten years before this Australian Opera performance.
This is truly an incredible production. Also, the fact that three of the principals are a G&S expert (Dennis Olsen), a musical theatre star (Anthony Warlow), and an operatic legend (Dame Heather Begg) really shows how broad of an appeal Gilbert and Sullivan can have.
Heather Begg on the bass is just priceless ... she was taught to play it by the late principal bass of the opera orchestra, the wonderful Aloha Hunter (r.i.p.)
The sound quality is so much better than so many other Gilbert and Sullivan videos. Many Thanks....but on the other hand...“This particularly rapid, unintelligible patter Isn't generally heard, and if it is it doesn't matter."

That you for uploading this, but the audio needs to be processed a little. It sounds very squeaky and tinny. I'm sure you can run this through an audio processor to clean it up and finally do this masterpiece justice.
Why was this my opening podcast the day after my adopted family's mother figure became possessed?! They're all "praying" for her, I hope that an exorcism happens asap. And then here is.... "Patience"!?😂

NGL, I could totally see Chris Lilley playing Bunthorne - it would definitely give new meaning to Patience's mention of "ecstasy".
