I wish you would repeat the Arabic more often. You introduce the expression then you repeat the English over and over. Rather than repeating the English, it would help if you repeated the Arabic. Otherwise the explanations are very helpful. Thank you.

Damn, I wish lessons like these were available when I studied فصحى pre-UA-cam days. I know this is dialect, but perhaps I wouldn’t have sounded like the equivalent of a 1920’s newsreel announcer whenever I tried to speak Arabic. Great videos.

You may be referring to the ع (ayn). In Spoken Arabic, it is frequently used as an abbreviation of على . So, instead of saying على بيتك Arabs will more often say عَ بيتك .

It's something like 'shu biddak tsaawi
il-yōm?'..... how would you write 'tsaawi' in the Arabic script?

Here it is:
شو بدّك تساوي اليوم؟
Note that the above verb is a Form III verb. It is used a lot, but not as much as the Form 2 verb from the same root, which is سوّى (this is past tense, 3rd person masc)
