I played this game for 6 years. With my friends. Overnight staying with buddies. Leveling and boss hunting until 6am. Those were the days. I really miss my High Priest and Champion Character. Ragnarok nostalgia is real.
Time well spent brother ❤ I played on pRO for 4 years. All in all I played around 10 years ragnarok. The last time I played was when pandemic was still a thing.
Im having that exact experience right now in iRo. I know its flawed and the game has some issues but regardless im still a die hard fan and love this game! Back in for over a year now and loving it!
We used to reach 99 in 3 months with around 8 hours of leveling every day! And this is not 99RB, you needed around 2-3 months to reach normal 99 level... Now they made it so easy. Meh. I Miss good old ragnarok.
Renewal made gears much more expensive but leveling easier but ye it became boring cause most of the of you farming is probably in a single place for zeny.. I miss pre renewal
Ahhh, memories. Back then, you had all the time in the world. Now, you put this on in the background while working and occasionally peek to see which monster is making that weird noise
Especially if you start from zero with no help The first thing you do as novice is begging for money to buy potion so you can hunt XD Took me three years playing casually to reach lvl 99 with hunter for the very first time haha
You get optimal experience per monster that are within 15 levels of you. If you are lower than that range you will get almost no exp, and higher you will see diminishing returns per kill. The description of the video has the level ranges that I find the best for quick experience. If you are new you probably wont be able to replicate this video exactly, but with basic gear you could still level very quickly using the right techniques.
I still remember the login screen music. As most stated, good times back then, tried another time a year ago or so, it's obviously not the same. Back then all this MMO stuff was new to me and I was fascinated. Farming blue herbs, with a Thief I made for this purpose, at the huge tree in the forest south-west of Prontera, sewer-bashing and caves at low levels, without any fancy quests or guidance, only the community to help. Even experienced my first childish love story back there, and yes, I was heartbroken in the end! I didn't ask her to return the Elven Ears I farmed for her hours on end in the mines as birthday present, we went apart on good terms. :) Then Orcs, Magma Dungeon and at some point it actually became too grindy, also my guild was full of drama queens with too many RL issues and pulled down the whole mood. I participated in some WoE events of a different guild I joined and then called it quits. I'll keep the fond memories of it though, it sure showed me how strong a game can be, even with the graphical limitations it had!
So weird, I had my first child love story back then too, but it went terribly because of the language difference ( I'm french ) and he gave me Elven Ears too! I remember sitting for hours in prontera, with a dictionary in my hands to make sure I could communicate with the community.
Thank you for posting this. Now I know alot of people want to complain about the title and stuff like that so let me clear a few things right of the bat. 1. This is not a Noob Gear lvl run. You will need some serious Zenny to do this exactly the same and he never stated that it will be a Noob Gear Leveling Run. 2. This is meant as a guide for more experienced players to assist in creating new characters that can afford the gears and consumables but want to avoid the grind to transending. 3. The difference between being VIP and Non-VIP will be very slight. You will get 50% less exp and not receive the +7 to all stats if you are Non-VIP. 4. The Map at the end is not the normal Payon Dungeon Map and is accessible only between lvl 70 - 100 through a special NPC in Eden Group. 5. This is server does not have exceptionally high rates but cannot be compared to Classic so please stop bitching about trying it in classic. If you can do better make your own video and post it. Lastly give some praise to the guy for still making videos of a game that most people played 10 years ago and is still alive today and support him so he can make more for us all to enjoy.

This was the first MMO I ever played and the first place I met people online, having great memories of it, and it just saddens me of what it has become... When I left 8 years ago it was actually hard to level and get the stuff you wanted. Only the top players and top guilds who worked their butt off had acess to the best gear, but now every video or stream I watch it seems like everyone is rolling on epicly refined gear and mvp cards. And now you can even level from 1 to 99 in an hour? Are you serious? How can people still enjoy this? I was thinking of coming back for the lols and revive some memories and since it has been so long I forgot even how to start, so that's why I came to this video, but seeing what this game has become and what this guy can do in an hour just demotivated me to do so :(
Luis Martins I agree Renewal is poop in some ways. But Classic server is still good for the kind of memories you had before. However I think your memory of RO is better left undisturbed. 8 years ago was RO's prime for sure though. Still things to enjoy now though.
To add on this, almost ANYONE can go 1-99 in an hour with the current jumping janeway leveling quests. There are I think 4-5 different missions you do consecutively that require you to kill a small handful of monsters and she will level you 20+ levels at a time after each mission.

How do you use RCX? When I downloaded it and opened it with the game, it shows this loading bar and some weird letters. Afterwards it took a while to load, then when it was done loading... it came up with this ragexe has stopped working and forced exit my game. Am I doing something wrong?

When refine level is 6 or higher, increases physical and magic damage to all monsters by 5%. When refine level is 9 or higher, increases physical and magic damage to all monsters by an additional 5%. RWC Ring combo = +10 atk per refine of weapon

He is using absurdly powerful gears that are refined to a high level and using a lot of stat boosting and xp boosting items. If you have indeed played ~60days at 2hours a day though, you are quite behind. 1-50 is easy enough in 6 hours for someone who doesn't know too much about the game, but the leveling drops off fast around there I would say.
This is not the official iRO server, by the loading screen pictures you can clearly see it is a private server.......... It even has some tumblr links on the pictures.

Did you ever manage to take a look at MythWar II online.. ~ all these old style 2d games seem to be dying off.. and being replaced by very similar games with shallow P2W game play :(
I know this is late but just in case new players read this. The monsters at the end are on a special map accessible only by using Gramps in Eden. They use the map of Payon Dungeon but the monsters in it change weekly. This map is also only accessible between lvl 70 and 100 and has a quest linked to it that can only be done once every 24hours for a very large Exp boost. Players also refer to this quest as Low Ti. There is also a Mid and High Ti for higher lvl ranges and are based on other maps.

RCX was a tool that showed the lines but it doesn't exist anymore. I don't think current bowling bash has the gutter lines anymore. For the new server you should be able to make a booster character which comes with its own set of gear.
Rudolf Hairband is for cheap HP recovery using carrots, Dark Blinder doesn't really matter, chewing gum also has no combat effect. Soul Collector's cotton shirt to make sure SP was always full, RWC knife with RWC ring gave atk increase based on refine (could also use triple hurricane stiletto or gladius). Footgear is shackles to combo with Bloody Shackle Ball. Heroic Backpack and immune shield were used because it could be equipped at level 1, but a regular guard would be fine. As a knight I used a 3x Sword Guardian Saber. Sorry for the blurryness this was like 6 years ago. It can be done faster, but its more about where to go than what you use.

hey man whats up, im new to RO but as far as i have been playing the game it seems like i dont get any exp for killing mobs, i mean, i have been playing for almost 2 months for probably 2 hours at day and im only lvl 30, and then you make this video showing that it is in fact possible to level from 1 to 99 in just 1 hour. I guess my question will be, am i doing something wrong?, is there anything im missing? ill apreciate if you can help me cuz i was actually about to uninstall the game. ty man

It is definitely not as popular as 10 years ago, and I sure get made fun of by my friends for playing it... Still, it's the most awesome game ever made.

+Mindshi fter iwould recomend trying it out , pvp is in special pvp events or maps and grinding farming is pure luck based and depending on what rates you go for is how hard it gets normal drop rate for a card ( witch it kinda important aspect in the game)is 0.01 thats lika 10000/1 drop chance mvp's special mobs respown every few hours
Dude, is it still like this?! How can u get so much exp from an orc with your lvl? is the players lvl not important for the given exp on ur server? i play on steam, i have to try if it works for me here like u did...
During the video there was an EXP event. But as long as you head to orcs around level 30 you should be in optimal exp range. Level difference is important though

Its an iRO exclusive thing. We have weekly exp turn in quests for low, mid, and high level players. Once the player has the quest they can warp to a special map that has a very high concentration of the monsters they are supposed to kill.
simple, update your ragnarok, and it'll come up...happened to me, besides mob hp bars are shown only after you interact with that mob somehow, let's say...you "Provoke" it or hit it by a normal attack or skill or whatever...and the hp bar will show up...
Omg i miss this game and this server. Play from 2014 to 2018 then decided to quit for good. Now the server is like everyone deal with 999999 damage each hit. LoL
Generally push dex as fast as possible to 40. If you have decent atk on your weapon go vit next, then str last. If you don't have a good weap get 50ish str before getting vit.

Nice! These are some good places to level to get to 99, it probably won't be this fast unless you are using similar gear. But even if it takes you 5x as long to do, it is still really quick! I'd recommend checking out the wiki to refresh yourself on the Knight class. irowiki.org/wiki/Swordman
I currently hit 94 as my knight sadly i wasted my bmx ones from thr beginning ath i bout 2 x3 ones which made ALLL my toons broke, im not on vip, but I used to have a 100RK, and a 102Gx I wipped the and started over, and my thief is only lvl 14 XD and thanks I will check out the link, I def need better gear. Even on my original toons most gear were edenIII but i transfered my weaps to the vault but now I have to boost and get zeny to get better gear... I forgot how mch of a grind this game is hahha
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this game, I've made it to lvl 71 but I have trouble hitting enemies for my level. I'm currently playing an assassin with 35 dex (excluding job bonuses and item bonuses) There's so few people playing this game so I can't find anyone to talk to... Also I only have the Eden equipment and a plus five Jamadhar. Point is I'm a noob who needs someone to explain this stuff to me. Any info is appreciated.
It depends, custom servers may have bonuses to help you. In general I can once again say that melee are bad classes to start with. Hunter/Bard are the easiest classes to start. Hunter has traps to solo almost anywhere, like Sphinx 4 (anubis) and Bard will always have a party for his Bragi song. In any case, range attacks are way better as you can at least learn how to train and dodge. Melee classes have to contact foes and inevitably take damage, thus they need good def or, in your case, exceptional flee. Honestly, I'm used to playing with stat/skills reset and all the tips would be about changing build and tactics. Assassin can lure a bunch of mob and Grim them to death from Hide. Hunter doesn't need any def or flee, just go full dex to about 90, then go agi, 9 int is enough. Wiz is for more skilled players, if you want to try and learn vertical Firewall or Quagmire+Heaven. Still avoiding damage is better than a small chance to not take it. I'm no fan of flee.
avax dxmentia i played this when it was soo new and back then me and a few friend would camp the orc forrect blue plant to get blue herb, don’t get me wrong we try to level but it was soo hard lol. But back then, it wasnt just about leveling up. Alot of it was talking to people and doing things together, it was really fun :) Man i do miss those days...

RO still has its charm. Everything is OP now, makes it fun. At least for PvM.

Rudolf Hairband is for cheap HP recovery using carrots, Dark Blinder doesn't really matter, chewing gum also has no combat effect. Soul Collector's cotton shirt to make sure SP was always full, RWC knife with RWC ring gave atk increase based on refine (could also use triple hurricane stiletto or gladius). Footgear is shackles to combo with Bloody Shackle Ball. Heroic Backpack and immune shield were used because it could be equipped at level 1, but a regular guard would be fine. As a knight I used a 3x Sword Guardian Saber. Sorry for the blurryness this was like 6 years ago. It can be done faster, but its more about where to go than what you use.

The RCX folder can be anywhere. You just need to launch the program located inside the RCX folder.
where should i put the rcx folder? inside the iRO folder or anywherer in may storage?

hey man whats up, im new to RO but as far as i have been playing the game it seems like i dont get any exp for killing mobs, i mean, i have been playing for almost 2 months for probably 2 hours at day and im only lvl 30, and then you make this video showing that it is in fact possible to level from 1 to 99 in just 1 hour. I guess my question will be, am i doing something wrong?, is there anything im missing? ill apreciate if you can help me cuz i was actually about to uninstall the game. ty man

Find your Ragnarok Online folder, then look for a setup file (make sure you run as administrator) and there are settings for screen resolutions.

***** There are usually 2500-3000 people online on the iRO renewal server (Chaos). About half of the players are dual-clienting or even more, so I am guessing there are roughly 1500 actual players. It is definitely not as popular as 10 years ago, and I sure get made fun of by my friends for playing it... Still, it's the most awesome game ever made.

and grinding farming is pure luck based and depending on what rates you go for is how hard it gets

Dude, is it still like this?! How can u get so much exp from an orc with your lvl? is the players lvl not important for the given exp on ur server? i play on steam, i have to try if it works for me here like u did...
During the video there was an EXP event. But as long as you head to orcs around level 30 you should be in optimal exp range. Level difference is important though

Its a Bowling Bash Knight. They have strong area-of-effect melee skills to level faster than regular swardsmen.

Its an iRO exclusive thing. We have weekly exp turn in quests for low, mid, and high level players. Once the player has the quest they can warp to a special map that has a very high concentration of the monsters they are supposed to kill.

simple, update your ragnarok, and it'll come up...happened to me, besides mob hp bars are shown only after you interact with that mob somehow, let's say...you "Provoke" it or hit it by a normal attack or skill or whatever...and the hp bar will show up...

Generally push dex as fast as possible to 40. If you have decent atk on your weapon go vit next, then str last. If you don't have a good weap get 50ish str before getting vit.

Nice! These are some good places to level to get to 99, it probably won't be this fast unless you are using similar gear. But even if it takes you 5x as long to do, it is still really quick! I'd recommend checking out the wiki to refresh yourself on the Knight class. irowiki.org/wiki/Swordman
I currently hit 94 as my knight sadly i wasted my bmx ones from thr beginning ath i bout 2 x3 ones which made ALLL my toons broke, im not on vip, but I used to have a 100RK, and a 102Gx I wipped the and started over, and my thief is only lvl 14 XD and thanks I will check out the link, I def need better gear. Even on my original toons most gear were edenIII but i transfered my weaps to the vault but now I have to boost and get zeny to get better gear... I forgot how mch of a grind this game is hahha

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this game, I've made it to lvl 71 but I have trouble hitting enemies for my level. I'm currently playing an assassin with 35 dex (excluding job bonuses and item bonuses) There's so few people playing this game so I can't find anyone to talk to... Also I only have the Eden equipment and a plus five Jamadhar. Point is I'm a noob who needs someone to explain this stuff to me. Any info is appreciated.
It depends, custom servers may have bonuses to help you. In general I can once again say that melee are bad classes to start with. Hunter/Bard are the easiest classes to start. Hunter has traps to solo almost anywhere, like Sphinx 4 (anubis) and Bard will always have a party for his Bragi song. In any case, range attacks are way better as you can at least learn how to train and dodge. Melee classes have to contact foes and inevitably take damage, thus they need good def or, in your case, exceptional flee.
Honestly, I'm used to playing with stat/skills reset and all the tips would be about changing build and tactics. Assassin can lure a bunch of mob and Grim them to death from Hide. Hunter doesn't need any def or flee, just go full dex to about 90, then go agi, 9 int is enough. Wiz is for more skilled players, if you want to try and learn vertical Firewall or Quagmire+Heaven. Still avoiding damage is better than a small chance to not take it. I'm no fan of flee.

avax dxmentia i played this when it was soo new and back then me and a few friend would camp the orc forrect blue plant to get blue herb, don’t get me wrong we try to level but it was soo hard lol. But back then, it wasnt just about leveling up. Alot of it was talking to people and doing things together, it was really fun :)
