Thanks so much for explaining this!!! Been looking around for a tutorial like this. Now to find a tut that explains placing the segmentlines on a big ship and im golden :D
Even if the single curves are fair, how can you tell if the hull is going to be fair between them. This example uses so few curves so I'm guessing it will be quite fair but how do you make a fair hull uasing 10 curves for example?
TO CHECK A SURF FOR FAIR, just put in diag points, interpolate, cross sections individually can be fair but you need to pit in two diags to check the frames are fair longtitudally struggle with cad but all my life been fairing on the loft floor on my knees, a 50 yacht can take 40 hrs to draw n fair
@@Thestripper1 so soory only just saw this, yes surfaces, diagonals, still playing with cad, the prob with rhino is that if you say have say a sheerline, you change it, then you have to alter the deck, in MAXSURF if you alter something the adjoining are adjust automatically
@@stuarth43 You need to increase the display scale by clicking the number, which the default number is 100, and change to 101, 102, 103 etc. try it, the comb will show.
because rhino is one of the shittest boat design software that just gives shapes to the curves and too complicated way and do not really calculate hydroststics and hydrodynamics .. Just 3D shapes . Use maxsurf instead

Do lines fair in Maxsurf or tribon and import back to Rhino for GHS and others
long time hands on builder lofting the old way, so, you fair up your stem, how'd you know the waterlines will fair in
helpful!

Hi Stuarth. Could you please explain this further, and please explain your abbreviations. I take it SURF is for surface, diag is.... diagonally?

pardon, but once you select that curve THEN what did you do, please, when I grab it it just moves the curve
thanks
