No matter what, Blizzard are laughing all the way to the bank and most of those redditors complaining about it are probably afk in game right now sitting on it.
I love the casual notion that somehow everyone who disagrees or dislikes the mount also bought it. Maybe there's some overlap sure but I would guess that most people complaining aren't also buyers of it.
I think we are in a day and age that it doesn’t matter if even the perfect game was designed people will always find something to complain about . We are just in a generation that is very ungrateful for everything
@@heythereguysitsMetro It shouldn't cost 800 and it shouldn't cost 90. It isn't about entitlement. Its about the fact that its a friggin MOUNT IN A VIDEO GAME! Look at the shop now and see the 4 mounts for WC30th for a third of that stupid brutosaur. People like you ruing game econs as you are just willing to pay whatever your masters demand!
@@HarvestrXyou clearly haven’t played any of the Korean mmo’s where buying a pair of underwear for your character can cost thousands of USD for bis stats, then a weapon is more like 5-10k
As someone who had the OG mount in their account in a server in another country that I can't access anymore, I bought this mount within seconds of it being announced with gold. Would buy again.
When the original Brutosaur was still available A LOT of people were spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on WoW Tokens to get it, but no one really had an issue with it because you can earn gold but making 5 million gold took an insanely long grind on multiple characters and a lot of people still didnt get close. Its cheaper than the old one and its a convenience.
Even though you are right the OG bruto came out after WOD. During WOD with the garrison a lot of people had multiple accounts gold capped as in 50mil between all toons capped. I knew someone that pay their rent during WOD by selling gold. That how much gold you could make passively in WOD
my husband has insulted me today saying i was a BADD for not having 5M gold xD , THAT instead of doing keys i should be out farming gold as we supposed to. told him to chill or he shall feel ma rage lol but yeah... i dont see how can i push keys and get 5m gold today, not with the current economy , i feel gold is bleeding out more than coming in xD
I think a lot of people were actually bitter about the brutosaur last time, but they have moved on. Then this new brutosaur comes along and has brought all that stuff back into people's minds.
I brought about 5 minutes after I saw the wowhead article. I went into BFA with around 7m gold. I didn't buy the mount straight away because I was in no rush and I was mythic raiding. I quit shortly before Eternal Palace, only found out what they took it away when I rejoined in Shadowlands and then Dragonflight. That really pissed me off, frankly I hate when they take anything out of the game, and yeah it was on the BMAH, but gold cap is insane. So I converted about 1.2m gold into tokens and just snagged it. The funniest thing is how many abusive comments I've been getting from random people who see me on it, custom /spit /puke emotes, etc. Like get over yourselves, you don't like the cash shop, I get it, but if it really matters that much to you stop playing the game. I'm over here enjoying my new shiny toy.
Enjoy it all you want but people can call out stupid when they see it and mounting a blatant cash grab is a good way to put a target on your back for public humiliation lol.
As long as there are enough people willing to cough up $90 for it, it's a good busyness decision. At least it's guaranteed, and not a gatcha scam. Sure, it's a big advantage to have it, but in no way it's game breaking(except for all the mount collectors)
NGL I will probably buy it. I missed out on the original brutosaur because I was convinced it would always be available and that I could spend several expansions grinding up the gold to buy it. By the time I realized that it was going away it was too late late to start grinding. (I mean I don't control the auction house like our buddy Gxxkc does lol.) So I refuse to miss out again. My only issue will be saving up enough money in time. Especially since I have some rather large expenses coming out once I get back into the real world. So I may actually miss out again. We'll see. But if I don't get it it won't be because I have a problem with the concept of it. (I mean you said it best. The people wgo bought it with gold got their exclusivity by how long it was unavailable. Moreover if you are going to bring it back like this it really should be now to celebrate such a huge milestone like the 20th anniversary.) Also this is totally in line with Blizzard's overarching design philosophy. They introduce something in the most restrictive way possible to see how well it works and identify any possible issues with it in the least intrusive way possible while simultaneously guageing community interest in ways that it can be expanded so they can design such expansions to be the most effective and least troublesome. To quote Blizzard themselves, it's easier and less disruptive to gameplay to design something as narrowly as possible and expand upon it than to design something hugely broadly and have to take away things people have become used to. At the end of the day I tend to agree with you. It's not worth getting upset over. If you don't like it don't buy it. If the majority of people agree with you it will die and never happen again. But if the majority of people like it it will thrive and flourish and more things like it will happen. Free market economics is the most pure way of distribution. What the people like they pay for and succeed, what they don't they don't and it goes away. No need to get all up I. A huff about it.
also the fact that this version of the brutosaur has a mailbox with no cooldown gives it even more quality of life, been playing since end of wotlk and i would never miss the opportunity to buy it
bingo. people spend more than 90 bucks to go get shithoused with their friends at the bar and not remember half of it. lol people cant judge me if they want...
We also have to bare in mind that even when just counting in game gold and not including real money and the WoW token way of accumulating that gold, at the time of the Brotosaur's release, the value of 5 million gold at that period in time was way more than 5 million gold is today. If you have Engineering you can use the MOLL-E Toy as it is a separate cd from other mail toys. If you are not an Engineer, then there's the option of Katy's Stampwhistle Toy from Dragon Flight which i use frequently on all my alts. Another one from way back is the Argent Squire / Argent Gruntling which requires Exalted with the Argent Champion located at the Tournament Grounds at the far north in Ice Crown. You'd also need the Argent Pony Bridle which cost 150x Champion Seals to add mail functionality to the Argent Squire / Argent Gruntling. I believe Katy's Stampwhistle and the Argent Squire/ Gruntling are the only 2 currently available universal uses with no Race or Profession restrictions. Both however, are locked behind some questlines.
@@heythereguysitsMetro Yeah i mean it's just easier to accumulate gold by playing the game than it was back then. So getting to 5M gold by playing the game and flipping materials in AH is way easier now, than it was back then. Because now there is broader market for flipping materials. More things have a higher value due to the supply vs demand etc No longer the case that you get cornered on the market because the 1 item that is actually valuable someone has already claimed monopoly on.
@@heythereguysitsMetro If I were a betting man the idea would be to keep doing this. Every 5 or so years release a new version of the brut for XYZ reason and have a period of time to cash in on new players FOMOing in. If it is always there less people feel the urgency to buy it otherwise. Any serious raider/M+er is going to want this mount and will 100% buy it as it becomes super useful for nearly all PVE content. It is a similar selling proposition as the Mc Rib. By having it be limited time offer more people purchase it than would normally over the long run. It is artificial scarcity selling mixed in with a prestige mount. Personally I am pro the mount and bought one for myself and my partner but it is a brilliant money making strat and the real dollars vs gold argument is silly considering how inter operable they are. People are just salty they can't get it for free.
Great point at the end about travelling and walking to the auction house. I can see a world where people literally want a mount that has access to every single thing on it, and they would never have to go anywhere. I was thinking about buying it but you made me realize it actually is probably useless to me as well. I like walking to the AH and Mailbox... Honestly, if they forced me to go back to Thunder Bluff to use the AH I would lol. because it's my favourite city in the game and I hate to see it and many amazing old zones useless.
Ya and everything goes through cities too. Unless you spend hours and hours farming materials there is no real reason to have the mount. You have to go to the city anyway for just about all the content. Even turning in the weeklies.
Katy's Stampwhistle is the Portable Mailbox - takes 20ish mins to get from Legion Dalaran IIRC. Worth grabbing purely to save yourself in 5s or raid (if noone around has an AH Mount!) For people annoyed by the price tag, it could be on the vendor and gold farmers would not care - the $90 tag is a way for Blizz to make a bit of $ instead of likely causing some issues in WoW economy. I would love the value of 1g to increase heavily but people already think consumables and mats are too expensive. Ripping millions / billions out of the game economy - I genuinely believe it would cause more problems for the average gamer in WoW. If you couldn't afford 5 million then, 2-3mil now or the BMAH bid price.. you weren't getting this anyway. GJ for analyzing it realistically. They make a buck while gold hoarders have another item to sink their teeth into. The price tag is just an optional or bonus way to get it (directly paying) // I could probably farm the gold to get one considering we have 2 months; I don't value it enough and will sink my excess gold into gametime.
I want to earn mounts like this through the game, not through my wallet. That applies to all "Pay to win" crap in RPG's. Earning things through the game ,"feels" 100x better then just using you're wallet.
I didn't spend an single penny on it. Bought it with in game gold using the wow token. If a poor casual like me can casually make enough in game gold to buy it anyone can. Now let's hope the price of the wow token stays low.
$90 for the mount is fine, I’m an adult and will spend my money how I see fit. What’s actually offensive is the fact that there’s a time limit to buy it. FOMO is real and people will think they’re obligated to purchase.
Ya but it doesn't make sense. This will be such a valuable mount at this price point any day of the week. Surely they are going to lose money over removing it long term.
Good points here, Metro. I bought it because I forget to bring flasks to m+ occasionally and I just hearthed. Having the option to re-up with mail/ah was worth the money for me.
I hated spending RL money on this mount, but holy shi+ every time i mount and check the AH I feel extremely content. I check the AH daily, mulitple times a day for good deals.
Nice, and you weren't able to do that before? I spend so much time in the city looking for mythic plus groups anyway I would never think to use it haha
The outrage stems from the fact a mount cost more then the Actual game of the war within. I bought it and could care less. I couldn't make 5m gold in BFA for the original so I wanted the Mobile AH.
Once the OG Bruto was announced late Legion, I grinded my ass to get to 5 mil so I could buy it day one BFA released. Now I bought the new one also for WoW tokens, for around 2 mil. I thought hey, if I did spend 3 mil to get max warband bank, 2 mil for no cd mobile mailbox sounds like a deal. I read many comments from the OG Burto holders that it devalued their achievement of getting it, tbh I could not care less, I bought the dino for mobile AH, not for flex - other expensive mounts like 2 mil spider or 1,5 mil scarab I pass, because they don't have the utility component. If it comes to trading post, then well, at least I saved the tenders for some other stuff.
DOOD! brother Metro! thank god for your thoughts here man. I'm considering getting the mount. I think like its worth while a purchase I am personally happy with the fact blizz is offering convience in the shop now! I'm personally gonna buy it bro. I'm a gold maker and like it would be a super convinience for someone like myself. I agree with you though it is like a non issue. I've played games that offer like actual game items in their shop. Like gear n weapons n stuff like this. But yeah bro good observations the fomo crowd needs to stop here! stay safe brother metro.
As someone that has bought an embarrassing amount of tokens. The cap was 20 a week and I've had many weeks in a row I was waiting to buy 20 more on Saturday at 630pm when it opens for me again. I did chose not to buy the new mount with that said because I have old one. The mailbox is pretty sick though.
the problem is not with blizz earning money, but the trend establishing ittself in the industry, where a cometic microtransaction earns more then a full developed game in seconds, this is why people are mad :< + we still pay the subscription
@@heythereguysitsMetro different metrics send different messages to EA microsoft. you reward china with cosmetic microtransactions making 2x more than the actual expansion that's why you get garbage patches and content. 01) There's zero chance the AH will go on the trading post 02) Blizz was an absolute marketing genius. Place a 5mil mount in for limited time 5 years ago. Let is simmer on the black market AH for gold cap for all this time. Bring in a different, better AH mount for approx 1.3mil gold, again for a limited time. 03) They will wait 2-3 more years, let it simmer on the black market, and then drop a new AH mount for 120$ this time. 04) I like this concept. Bring a ton of stuff to AH. Let the people who want the items fund the game. Reduce the sub & game price (I doubt it, but still.)
Had to look up this phrase, but doesn't seem to apply. The original mount is still going to be going for many million regularly. This is simply a new one, and much cheaper than the previous one.
Exactly - you can tell financial literacy is broadly shockingly low among WoW players yeah. Everyone will parrot that "but it's cheaper" line because they've psychologically fixed the price at some absurd value and then slashed it so that you make the decision relatively, rather than objectively (which is that $90 USD for a mount is wild)
@@ysxbel Are we sure its FINANCIAL literacy that's in question here? Many many players bought it for what would be 500-800 dollars. Now its available for 90 dollars. The ONLY thing that matters here is the relative cost, because a LOT of people bought it for that really high amount of money, and it continued to sell for even HIGHER for 5+ years. How is this a psychological issue? The market value of getting an AH mount went from at least 500 dollars, more like 1k, to 90 dollars. And people want that, a LOT. To me, it sounds like the problem would be if people weren't happy to pay 1k for it, and now they reduce it to pretend like its a steal. This one is absolutely just a steal, and everyone knows it. That's why it sold so crazily.
its not a problem to get to auction house AND there are tons of auction house mounts everywhere right now :D i for my self will not buy mounts its a subscription game and the expansion is not cheap either so i dont feel like the company needs the real money shop i would love to see that mount beeing a achievment ingame instead a hard one ^^
Loot boxes in games have got people to gamble so much money on unknown items that some states/countries want to regulate the gaming industry under the same rules as a casino. I personally prefer this shop approach of knowing exactly what you're paying for. I'm sure they have an investment team that sets the price for maximum profits indifferent to past offerings. Compared to so many games where you can simply buy player power I feel like Blizz has done a decent job of taking the high road. I do feel for the people who genuinely want the mount but can't really afford to spend that money. But that really is the case for all luxury items. Really want that new car but can't spend the money on it so i'll keep driving this old one. And make no mistake it is a luxury item and not required to succeed at any level of this game. On the other hand, people are entitled to feel however they want about it. I personally hate the idea of items being limited time. What about new players who weren't even around for the first AH mount? They're just left out forever because they didn't play back then?
I hate the store because there usually isn't anything comparable to get from just playing the game. The store items often get new models, animations, everything. Things like raid and gladiator mounts are just reskins. They throw some extra armor on it and change colors on something already in the game. I would like to see the same quality for end game stuff again. I don't care much about what they sell. I say if they will pay it let them buy it. They should sell more cute outfits so people can dress up their elf girls and lower the sub cost for the rest of us because of all the money they make from it.
can u imagine the absolute mount everest of cash they got thrown on them within the first hour of it beeing out, crazy shit, well i wont ever need such a mount bcs there is 100 people standing with it in town lol
I know it's going to be seen as a major success for the company which means we'll be getting even more expensive mounts going forward. Personally I have no care when they release stuff like this and if someone wants to put that much money down on a mount go for it but when I see the game's patches being brought out in a buggy untested states and they launch this type of stuff is when I start to get a bit annoyed. On a side note there is a fundraising pack that they've launched with all these bundles and it sucks that it's being overshadowed by the 90$ and 30$ packs as it goes 100% to the charity.
this is the 2nd mount with an auction house, there is a 0% chance this will end up on the trading post especially given the price lol. bought it yesterday
I think there is a good chance. I don't really understand why else they would remove it. Only logical reason to me is they plan on returning it every anniversary or something.
This really comes down to if you think you'll be playing this game for years to come. If so, this a amazing deal just because of the convenience this brings to your game play. This by far is the most expensive purchase I've ever made from Blizzard and rarely do I buy anything from the store ever, but this was just to much for me to pass on. And as player that's been playing this game since the start of Cata without taking a break, yup I'll be using this mount for many more years to come or until Blizzard shuts its doors.
90 bucks is a steal for the mount. As you explained, 90 dollars is better than 500. And I already found a use for it. Had no mana food in the middle of a key, longboi took care of that. Plus I dont have a mailbox toy. Great add from blizz if you ask me
I almost bought the first one with tokens, glad I held off. Stuff like this keeps the sub for everyone $15, meanwhile they can make more content than ever and have more staff cooking up ideas than ever. Dragonflight and the War Within have been great and had tons of content, I support them to make more good stuff. There were xpacs where I wouldn’t have given them money, but they’re doing a damn fine job with the game currently
Oneazerothtv i think the ones quoting the price are looking at the mount in the same light as the other shop mounts. It is really obvious to many of us the AH+Mail is worth the money because we compared to the OG Bruto and their price. When you compare that the 90 is a decent price for the perk; also many of us work for a living 90 is about 3-4 hours or work maybe 5 depending on your job which takes less time than farming 5mil gold in game. In terms of time investment the price tag is cheap.
They are not putting this on the trading post in let's say a year or 2 ( if it's still around -- Post I mean ) -- they will put it away and revamp / design it and re-release it again in 3 to 5 years.
I think it’s super sick and very fairly priced for what it does and what it is I just don’t use the auction house enough to justify it but I think it’s sick. I do think it’s more of a keeping up with the Joneses type of thing that it is a true utility with how easy it is to get to the capital city and get to the auction. But more power to the people that have it I think it looks really really cool.
Totally agree. I would never use it personally, but a lot of people asked me why I didn't get it, as if it was expected of me as I earn a living off the game haha
My problem is the trends in the economy. Expansion over expansion things are getting more expensive and started in shadowlands with the legendary bases. Then the profession rework all consumables went dramatically up. Then this expansion prices went up again especially on enchants. Now for the record I made 10 mil gold doing enchanting this expansion so i was deep in that market. One change that blew my mind was they changed the disenchant "droprate" to give much less tier 3 dust. It made me lose money and prices went up. The problem with the token is Blizzard now has a financial incentive to make us buy it by increasing prices in game. We are frogs getting boiled. I know one of my guildies spent over $1000 on tokens. And another friend spent a couple hundred because he kept FotM rerolling and hes the type of player that needs the best consumables. Blizzard is greedy and has made trillions from us. And it will only get worse.
@@MrMcswiggens So you are suggesting that commodities are some how become more and more scarce as the game gets older? You are going to REALLY have to work hard to prove that one honestly.
More so that blizzard was months behind on helping the tinderbox droprate which propped up enchants. As well as making the rank 3 dust harder to get 4-5 weeks into the expansion. O still like the game and I can pay for most things with gold but the people that don't no life professions are buying more tokens than ever this expac.
@@MrMcswiggens And can you point to trends from that happening in previous expansions or is this just a one-off issue that really only was exacerbated by the strange idea they had to make delve reagents a thing?
The only problem I have with Blizzard is that I pay a subscription and then also have to buy the expansion and then on top of that there's the shop. And they now put something highly valuable/functional in that shop. It just comes across kinda shady. Not against Blizzard making money, but feel like they're just playing into FOMO really heavily. Early access, but only on the $90 pre-order, a functional, highly usable mount for $90 that's time limited. That sorta thing just rubs me the wrong way. Not so much that the mount is $90. People should make their own decision whether it is worth it for them.
I gotta ask, if they’d have put it on a vendor for 2 mil or something, would you have felt any different about it? If yes, then that’s a clown position. Because gold and $ are equivalent. The ‚cash price‘ would have been the same. You would have just been duped. If no, then are you against the idea of anything being available for gold?
@@MrAlathiel I'm in a way against how the trading post works, if that's what you're asking. All kinds of limited items, and no way to get all of them. It's the same fomo. I don't care if the mount is $90 or whatever the equivalent is in gold. I care that Blizzard is trying to make its money by playing into people's fear of missing out. It's a psychological thing not all people are equipped to deal with.
@@MrAlathiel indeed, I would still find it a bit shady to put such function behind a paywall, however now if I wanted to I could work towards getting it.
The funny about blizzards greed is that they are just smart enough to squeeze more money out of people but not smart enough through their greed to see how much more they could be making. I agree its great that blizzard makes money I don't think any sane person would have a issue with that. But it is how they operate in such a out right disrespectful way. Xbox is a great example of a gaming company who use to be like blizzard but are moving in a good direction. I will say I can understand in many ways how the player base is holding them back or can be misguiding them as well. But a wild thought is maybe allow the real life sale of things in a market. Respect the time and exclusivity of things. The highest selling skin was 1 MILLION for a AK-47 in CSGO (which came gambling crate). People pay insane amounts for skins in Rust and CSGO and that is because there is real value in it. They can resell the item later and they know those companies won't just mass print them. And they only take 5% compared to blizzards 25% cut on WoW tokens. And look how massive the steam market is. Funny thing is those games are free to play or have a single box cost and no paid updates.
@@heythereguysitsMetro It's not that complicated. They take the smaller quick gains at the cost of larger gains that are a bit more delayed. This has effected their release tempo which has impacts on the quality of the game. If they are going to sell skins follow a model that actually makes sense and doesn't piss of the majority of their player base only to then release the same thing in some other way. No other game works that way. The way blizzard manages to piss people off with their choices in insane. They just refuse to adapt.
@adox8574 hmm ya totally disagree with this. I see no evidence it has impacted their development pipeline at all. They have been doing store stuff since the early days too obviously. Content is flowing too fast if anything right now. It's clear they are trying to keep up with some quick deadline that causes issues with QA. Obviously something that whomever is in charge of making mounts has nothing to do with.
Imagine the people buying this when they just legit dropped some of the worst class updates I've ever seen in the middle of a patch ever... Insane how down bad wow players are.

Do you think the class balance guys all looked at each other and to Chris Metzen himself and all gave the thumbs up before they collectively pressed the buttons for the mount to go live on the store?
I'm not against the mount, and it's a good value when compared to the original, which I do not have. It's really hard to justify buying a mount that costs more than an expansion. I can not afford to buy it in game or irl at the moment, so really hoping they release it for tendies. My financials aside, I think it's fair to spend money on your hobbies if wow is your hobby, and you have the funds to go for it. I hate to buy it now, or it's gone BS. Them making money is fine, that means maybe we get a better less buggy rushed feeling patch.
I personally don't care about the mount at all. WOW for me is mostly about M+ and transmog collecting. Though I can see why some people are angry about it. Different people have different goals in WOW. For some e.g. it's mount collecting. For them it's what makes wow fun. Be it M+, raids or collecting that makes wow fun for you. You still have to have goals to make the game fun. So i can see if a collector spent a lot of time farming for the mount and feeling good about their achievement getting angry about the store mount.
I think that's a real complaint for sure. I just doubt that's where the animosity is coming from, given how few people seemed to have that old mount, vs how many people complain about it now.

I play several mmo's and having a mount in the game shop is nothing new. I'm not buying this one but I have bought some really cool mounts in other games. I see why people are upset when we already spend 450 dollars every two years on a game and game time. yet if they take the time to make something like this people will buy it. if they ever make a bad ass mount I like id pay 50$ for it. I know it's nothing tangible and games don't last forever but to me its like going to the movies. I spend 40$ easily for 2 hours now. and the mounts in other games are a lot more expensive than this one. shoot I bought an outfit for 20$ in a different mmo lol. let alone the warcraft outfits for d4 which were 20$ also.
Giving the players that started playing post bfa, a way to aquire a QoL tool that the rest of the player base had the option to aquire previously is good imo Also, you can bet the pricing person is gonna get a raise. The absolute AMOUNT of this mount i have seen out there 😂
On your comment about there being a cap to tokens, I played with a guy who had people buy tokens on their account and trade the gold to him so he could get the Brutosaur
Not only cheaper than the original, it's better. Making all those people who either grinded for the gold like maniacs or just paid for the wow tokens immediately pointless. I usually don't care about cosmetic store shit but this is an insanely useful mount and much more than only cosmetics and with it's ridiculous price tag this is beyond scummy.
@@him7487 Oh, well no its actually very cheap compared to the previous mount. That was discussed heavily in the video. This mount should have been at least 250 dollars tbh.
@heythereguysitsMetro doesn't matter tho, blizzard hyped up the original brutosaur as something that would be removed at the end of BFA and only really pop back up on the BMAH. I'm sure if they said "hey in like a couple years we're gonna release this thing again just better in every single way." A lot less people would've grinded for the original. Just another blatant cash grab at the cost of the community's trust.
I think if u forget the real money , this mount is valuable , Like u literally can buy it with tokens , ok token are more expensive now , but whateveer ?? 1st if u kept u're tokens before the mount ,it free . 2nd , if u make a calcul , The bruto without mail was 2 m , and after 5 m on bmah ??? ... ^^

The people that seem completely complacent with this $90 quality of life store mount obviously never played a Korean MMO. Let me tell you about those games, it's like they have the Brutosaur, but for fucking everything. To even remotely enjoy the game, you need a certain amount of $ purchased QoL items. This is just the beginning, we will see a lot more QoL Store items. Unfortunate.
I feel like they're just trying to get people used to using the wow token. Even if most people never use it again for anything else, this will still get them more sales in general, and that's on top of the people buying the mount outright.
We live in a day and age where it's no longer the quality of the game made but the quality of the platform for devs to sell their product. Like a glorified MMO wish.
Plain and simple: Money grab! Blizz made more money, arguably, from this mount alone for 1/100 the production costs of a full expansion. This will happen again.
My biggest issue with the mount is that it came just after the most disastrous patch I've seen in WoW in years and felt like a smokescreen so people talk about something else than the terrible QA that was obviously done by unpaid interns, or just completely skipped.
Ya, well that's just you being negative tbh. The patch was FAR from disastrous. It had some bugs, and they have mostly been fixed by now. There have been way way worse patches with content that doesn't work properly, or that has massive instability causing crashes or other technical issues. This patch was actually fine, they just had no one test it because the PTR came out the week the season started. In terms of it being a smokescreen, I can see that point, IF it wasn't also coinciding with the anniversary. Would be really tin-foil hat to suggest that they were just sitting on this mount waiting for bad press and now are LYING about it being related to the anniversary. or what, they released a bad patch on purpose to cover it up or something? Makes no sense.
Blizzard were the first to have a price tag on the game, a price tag on the DLC/Expansions, a monthly fee and a shop. And then the shop also allowed RMT at some point. What are people even complaining about? Do you guys not know which game you playing?
I would like to hear your thoughts about some people raising the m+ achievement bar beyond being reachable by exploiting the game with broken/overtuned classes. Would you sanction them and how much would be a sufficient one? There were also alot of mythic raid progress among some guilds cause they used some pvp items to broke bosses from doing mechanics.
I think adding action house to a mount was a mistake. Because now you have some no lifers sitting next to a mailbox who will instantly undercut you as soon as you make your auction. Like the Shadowlands legendaries for example. The only way to sell those if you were a normal player was to put them for 20k discount so the guy who would undercut you buys them from you.
Yup, seems like buying a jersey of your favoourite team... it's not worth all that money as a piece of clothing... but you support the team by paying the extortionate price.
I think a $90 price tag would make more sense in a f2p game. Just from a consumer perspective, not taking into account equivalent past items in game. More importantly I personally dislike the Wow token / RMT. It puts a pretty direct monetary value on your time in game and thus devalues it (for me at least). I used to like "making money" with professions in WoW back in the day. Now it's just not interesting. I can work an hour extra at work and buy a token instead.
Ya, I can see that, but that conversation is LONG over. Token isn't going anywhere, and it does go a long way to staving off account stealing and gold selling. In terms of the price tag, its honestly too low given the old mount's costs.
@@heythereguysitsMetro yeh, I know it's a long lost battle. Though with the current prices (again, not arguing cost/value of this particular item), I think the game should move towards a f2p model.
@@heythereguysitsMetro because they'd make more money from having more players play and whaling the whales. That's what most companies do these days. Though I'm not necessarily a huge fan of that approach either as it can get out of hand. Making it f2p would have benefits as well, though (= more players).
@@mwaffi so you believe you understand more about how to maximize their profits than the company who just sold millions of copies of a 90 dollar mount?
Why people are mad? If you don't like it don't buy it. I would buy it if I really do professions and make a gold of it. I buy flask every on and on so for me is not necessary, but I am not mad because they put 90 $ mount on the store, no-one is forcing us to buy.
my opinion on the mount is: Anyone buying it with money / doesn't have the ~2mil gold it costs (EU pricing) propably doesn't even have a usecase for the mount to begin with If you don't have 2mil, you propably don't have the auction house throughput that you'd need a mount like this really the only issue is that it is a straight up better then the orriginal But if someone still thinks that something in a game will be truely exclusive they are delusional to begin with (look at t-sets / mounts / tmog or skin-reruns in other games etc. if there is money to be made exclusivity doesn't exist)
The only reasons i need for buying the mount are I have the money, it looks cool and it is convenient. I don’t need to ‚recoup my investment‘ by powerfarming the ah to justify the purchase.
@@MrAlathiel Which is completely fair! I just mean that the people complaining about the price point of this mount are likely not the target audiance. I'm not gonna tell anyone to "not buy the mount" because they like it and want it - power to you I don't care what others spend their money on. My only point is that if you aren't a person that is powerfarming 2x4s etc you don't "need" it - since it drastically increases your profit margine doing so.
@@josephandrees5381 Assuming your are progging in a guild / set group (since you said "we") and don't want someone to port out > get summoned back there is always the option of having say the raid lead buy one with guild funds. Chances are that when you are playing on a prog level, at least one person in your raid already has the mount - and you don't really need multiple of it
I just think it’s bad to give a company that is releasing a broken patch $90 for a mount. That said, it’s way cheaper to spend IRL money instead of good farming. Even a minimum wage job is probably a better value for time than gold farming, unless you really like gold farming.
this right here is whty ill byy it when the game functional, they dont get a bonus for this dog water, when things are ironed out ill vote with my wallet
The patch really has nothing to do with the mount though. The expansion launch and all the stuff within it was spectacular so far. The mount is simply there for the anniversary, and as mentioned, 90 dollars is honestly not enough of a price tag for this item.
@@heythereguysitsMetro your logic in your video was sound, I have no argument with that particular case. My issue with the mount is that the game is already a paid service with a monthly fee. I think people who buy the mount are giving Blizzard money that they don't deserve. Relative to the price of wow tokens and gold farming though, $90 is a steal.
You’re smoking Felstones if you think a $90 mount will show up on the Traders Post. That would completely ruin any future incentive to give them $90 for anything they come up with.
nah they still gonna make more then enough due to FOMO they dont care if people invest and then cry later they know as well as most its not finachailly responsable buying this shit anyways and those types are never going to be happy to see there loss
I hope they money goes to better wages for developers ,I hope the money goes into making a game even better BUT is it going there? I hope it is but I doubt it. I am also not sure about this theory that most people bought first AH mount with real money but it could be true. At that time I was really into gold making and making gold was surprisingly easy, from atal dazar skinning then uldum skinning to anchor weed farming, selling boe crafted items on AH,old content mats prices were good, tmog selling and it didnt require much effort either. BFA last for 2 years, so thats 24 months,at that time wow token was between 350-450k depends but lets say it was 350k. So 350x24=8400. So 8,4 mil I have spent on wow tokens to convert on game time but that means person on the other side could be using my game time tokens to buy their AH mount. I had my alt that sells tmog, another alt selling mats parked in front of AH and all mailing was done on TSM addon operations with one click and the point I am trying to make is.. even as a casual gold farmer at that time, I DIDNT HAD NEED TO BUY AH MOUNT. Even now in TWW, I play the game every day for minimum 3 hours and I cant remember last time I went on the AH but its sad they released it on 20th anniversary and other cosmetics and mounts as well while having such a bad week in terms of patch... even the bloody halloween event has a bug where if you log out, you will most likely lose all of the event currency from bags
Plenty of bugs for sure, but I imagine that's because they tried to rush this patch out before the anniversary. Imagine the complaints it if came out mid or late November like the anniversary normally does?
I will be mad if a 90$ mount goes into the trader, that would be bullshit. Bring it back every few years, don’t make it available for a significantly easier to obtain in game currency
I feel like it's gonna happen. Not sure what they would get rid of this mount. Going to be losing money long term. There might be a reason for it. But maybe it's just to reintroduce it in the shop again every anniversary.
I quit wow after 13 years and I am now trying to sell my account online right after seeing the annoucement. I farmed that mount in BFA for raw 5 million gold with no wow tokens. The fact that they put it back in the game is not a problem for me, neither is the price tag since it's only 1/4th of its original price and the OG mount is still impressive. What makes me furious is that the store mount is a straight out UPGRADE IN EVERY SINGLE ASPECT! - Better visual, resolution and detail - Same model - worst of all: that damn mailbox feature. That's it, I am done. I am playing the same game as them now. Makinf 1500€ for my account and then purchase the upgrade + expansion for 150€ with a revenue or 1350€. Just waiting for new year to not pay taxes on money earned and GG.

No matter what, Blizzard are laughing all the way to the bank and most of those redditors complaining about it are probably afk in game right now sitting on it.
Oh ya, this has to be the most they have ever made off one microtransaction for sure.

@@tuskgarcia9851 you’re right but a lot of people also quit the game during WOD or took a break
Right, that's my thoughts too. I know a few people who bought it exclusively with tokens.
It was unimaginably boring to do garrison dailies on more than a few characters a day

I think a lot of people were actually bitter about the brutosaur last time, but they have moved on. Then this new brutosaur comes along and has brought all that stuff back into people's minds.
Yup, I imagine so.

"random people who see me on it, custom /spit /puke emotes" that makes me want to buy the mount haha

@@redoni4325lol bro. Go play on your rp server
As long as there are enough people willing to cough up $90 for it, it's a good busyness decision. At least it's guaranteed, and not a gatcha scam. Sure, it's a big advantage to have it, but in no way it's game breaking(except for all the mount collectors)
Oh ya, totally agreed.
Yup, well said. Can't wait to see you riding it!
also the fact that this version of the brutosaur has a mailbox with no cooldown gives it even more quality of life, been playing since end of wotlk and i would never miss the opportunity to buy it
Ya it's really a good purchase tbh.
I brought it. Played the game since Vanilla launch. I can afford it, thought it looked great and I will make use of it.
Don't see the issue with it.
bingo. people spend more than 90 bucks to go get shithoused with their friends at the bar and not remember half of it. lol people cant judge me if they want...
Ya, realistically there is no issue with it. Only problem in my eyes is that its so cheap compared to the BFA one.
Same same.

Worth grabbing purely to save yourself in 5s or raid (if noone around has an AH Mount!)
For people annoyed by the price tag, it could be on the vendor and gold farmers would not care - the $90 tag is a way for Blizz to make a bit of $ instead of likely causing some issues in WoW economy.
Ya well said.
I highly doubt it will be on the Trading Post, you would probably need several months of tender for it.

02) Blizz was an absolute marketing genius.
Ya
If this isn't the perfect example of price anchoring I don't know what is.
HAPPILY BOUGHT MINE IN A HEARTBEAT.
You aren't alone in that
if you buy this mount you can never complain about not having enough money ever again
Why
8:33 I think the Liquid guys said somewhere they made 2-3 mil gph selling m+ carries during peak times.
Ya, so that's at the very top level. Your average player is going to struggle to make 5million gold before they could make 700ish dollars.
its not a problem to get to auction house AND there are tons of auction house mounts everywhere right now :D
i for my self will not buy mounts
its a subscription game and the expansion is not cheap either so i dont feel like the company needs the real money shop
i would love to see that mount beeing a achievment ingame instead a hard one ^^
You can look at it as an achievement of collecting 2million gold!
@@heythereguysitsMetro haha true :D
Imagine if last week you'd just spent gold cap to purchase the original brutosaur on the BMAH.
Ya, that's what I'm saying. I don't like that this is this cheap compared to that tbh.
Yup well said all around. At worst you just farm gold and buy tokens. The problem is you only have two months to do that. Not a fan of that myself.
Good thing about the wow token is you can look at gold as a form of progression and use it to buy all the stuff in the store!
can u imagine the absolute mount everest of cash they got thrown on them within the first hour of it beeing out, crazy shit, well i wont ever need such a mount bcs there is 100 people standing with it in town lol
Ya, it had to have been millions of dollars in the first day alone.
Ya, I can agree with that last part for sure. Strange that they put them out together like this.
tiffany needs a yacht too
Who is that?
At the end of BFA you would need to spend $780 in wow tokens to buy the Ah mount . I did consider it
Yup, said that in the video right?
Anybody complaining about this but still logging in is irrelevant imo. If people want to quit over something as small as this, farewell lol
Ya I tend to agree. The people who overreact over this usually are just throwing a fit.
Bought it, youre losing out immensely if you dont have it. Had someone forget potions for a mythic+ Pop that out and save 5-10 minutes.
ya that has never once happened to me haha. Either way, saving 5 minutes really doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of an entire season.
You can use the mailbox on the mount like a regular mailbox.
I... know that?
this is the 2nd mount with an auction house, there is a 0% chance this will end up on the trading post especially given the price lol. bought it yesterday
If they do add it to trading post that would be epic though the ultimate own to their players.
Good perspective!
90 bucks is a steal for the mount. As you explained, 90 dollars is better than 500. And I already found a use for it. Had no mana food in the middle of a key, longboi took care of that. Plus I dont have a mailbox toy. Great add from blizz if you ask me
Ya, its a huge convivence at a total fraction of the cost of the old one for sure.
Agree wholeheartedly. Great point about the sub staying 15 dollars.
Ya, pretty much said exactly that in the video haha... but I'm glad we agree!
I will continue to keep my stack of consumables on me and act like the AH mount dont exist. because F greedy blizzard.
Ya I mean there's no reason not to anyway.
They are not putting this on the trading post in let's say a year or 2 ( if it's still around -- Post I mean ) -- they will put it away and revamp / design it and re-release it again in 3 to 5 years.
I have a feeling its gonna be on the trading post tbh. I don't know why they would get rid of it this quickly.
i feel like at the very least the old brutosaur should be updated with a mailbox, other than that it is what it is
Oh ya, well tbh I liked having the repair guy. I would use that just to repair if I had it. I almost never use the AH or a mailbox.
@@heythereguysitsMetro right? Guess you’re supposed to get a blizzard tattoo across your forehead next too right? lol
@@C_Griffy haha
I don't understand your point. The players set the auction house prices don't they? You are suggesting that blizzard is manipulating the market price?
@@heythereguysitsMetro yes through scarcity of drops.
£60 in the uk, crazy cheap compared to getting the original mount.
basically the same price as an expansion
Ya that's pretty wild tbh.

Lotta words but I really am not seeing much of a point.

I said a few weeks ago if it came back in the shop for 250 I would buy it in a heartbeat. Jokes on Blizzard! Gottem...
Ya, even that would still be half the price haha
I'm not against the mount, and it's a good value when compared to the original, which I do not have. It's really hard to justify buying a mount that costs more than an expansion.

The rage comes from the people that dropped 5mil even 10mil, knowing I got it for 1.5mil through the wow token.😂

Plain and simple: Money grab! Blizz made more money, arguably, from this mount alone for 1/100 the production costs of a full expansion. This will happen again.
I mean, it should, right? Look how popular it was!
My biggest issue with the mount is that it came just after the most disastrous patch I've seen in WoW in years and felt like a smokescreen so people talk about something else than the terrible QA that was obviously done by unpaid interns, or just completely skipped.
this as fuck and glad to see its hardly working
Doesn't seem so.
I'd pay 200 for a mount that had AH, guild bank, mog, and mail
Oh ya, well idk if a 5 seater is coming but maybe some day haha
I would like to hear your thoughts about some people raising the m+ achievement bar beyond being reachable by exploiting the game with broken/overtuned classes. Would you sanction them and how much would be a sufficient one? There were also alot of mythic raid progress among some guilds cause they used some pvp items to broke bosses from doing mechanics.
Then ask that on a relevant video. Those runs were reverted anyway, or if they haven't yet been, they will be, according to Blizzard.
That's been how the AH has worked far before BFA and this mount though brother.
I'm so excited, I bought two of them
What do you do with the second one?
Yup, seems like buying a jersey of your favoourite team... it's not worth all that money as a piece of clothing... but you support the team by paying the extortionate price.
Well said. Good example there.
In terms of the price tag, its honestly too low given the old mount's costs.

well least blizzard has money to fund upcoming wow expansions...which probably invest that money else where :)
like where?
Why people are mad? If you don't like it don't buy it. I would buy it if I really do professions and make a gold of it. I buy flask every on and on so for me is not necessary, but I am not mad because they put 90 $ mount on the store, no-one is forcing us to buy.
Ya a lot of people just think they are somehow morally righteous by advocating for companies to not be allowed to earn money.
@@heythereguysitsMetro I mean they have to please their shareholders, it is the general trend for publicly owned gaming companies
my opinion on the mount is: Anyone buying it with money / doesn't have the ~2mil gold it costs (EU pricing) propably doesn't even have a usecase for the mount to begin with
If you don't have 2mil, you propably don't have the auction house throughput that you'd need a mount like this
really the only issue is that it is a straight up better then the orriginal
But if someone still thinks that something in a game will be truely exclusive they are delusional to begin with (look at t-sets / mounts / tmog or skin-reruns in other games etc. if there is money to be made exclusivity doesn't exist)
Good point there honestly.
Number of times we used the ah during tindral/Fyrakk prog is large. Having access to mobile ah is enormous.
Chances are that when you are playing on a prog level, at least one person in your raid already has the mount - and you don't really need multiple of it
instead of buying $90 brutosaur mount. why dont blizz put brutosaur mount into 12 months sub.. oh wait, theres a black cat mount.
Ya, they already had one.
Then what incentive do they have for removing it? You don't think people would continue to buy it for the rest of the game's lifespan?
I won't be buying War within, ill wait till next expansion and just get the Dior Brutosaur instead.
k
- Better visual, resolution and detail
- Same model
- worst of all: that damn mailbox feature.
That's it, I am done. I am playing the same game as them now. Makinf 1500€ for my account and then purchase the upgrade + expansion for 150€ with a revenue or 1350€. Just waiting for new year to not pay taxes on money earned and GG.
baby lost gold on an in game invest ment boo hoo the ones with the og one not being able to feel like snowflakes getting INRAGED is so fuckign good like yeah sorry nepo baby that you in game pixes didnt pay off idk why you thought they would
Selling your account is against the rules brother.
I'm so glad I quit this shitty game, blizz is just shameless at this point. I grinded for my OG Bruto and now these clowns just added a mailbox to clearly force even the OG Bruto havers to get this shit!
I'm glad you quit too.
Download the scuffed Jurrasic Park theme weak aura or the new mount won't work.
?
just buy the mount with WoW tokens. It's a lot cheaper than 5 million gold.
Huh? We are talking about the original brutosaur mount that was 5million during BFA.
If you spend $500 on wow tokens to buy a mount in bfa that’s on you
I think I laid out a really good case why its far more practical for most people to just buy the tokens. Please consider having a more nuanced approach to conversations on this channel then just saying "that's on you."
blizz only did this for a cash grab
Then why is it so cheap?
