Dina Meyers was my favorite part of the movie. I remember seeing in theaters with friends when it came out. We all thought the same thing in first few minutes of the movie once her characters were introduced. "Johnny is an idiot" lol
Dina Meyer is my favorite. Gorgeous and talented actress. Her character gave her life for her mates. Perfect
Dina Meyer wins the test of time award.
She still looks great.
Starship troopers is one of my favorite sci-fi movies. I love the way it dared to show alien life in another form other than humanoid. I also like the way it showed a natural progression of technology. Very believable. I just wish the sequels hadn't sucked so bad.
I saw all the sequels and they just kept getting shitter. I dont know why they decided to drag the franchise through the gutter like that. It had and still has lots of potential if a good reboot comes along.
I'm not sure why most people have never known about this film or its underrated. There's even a few popular actors in it. It still holds up in today's standard for most part. It's a movie I purchased a long time ago and still pop it in from time to time..Good movie....imo...
I liked Star ship Troopers when it first came out. Dizzy was and still is HOT!
I saw it while it was in the movie theater. I understood what they were going for and appreciated it right away.
I went to the theater to see this. I like many here who saw this movie in their 20s continue to watch it periodically. A lot of nostalgia for me.
I remember it being a sleeper hit, not a flop. Hollywood EXPECTED it to tank but by the time it reached PPV movies it was not only a well watched movie but a sought after one to own!!!
yes, Starship Troopers IS one of the best SF films ever made. There are plenty who laugh and scoff at it. Doesn't matter, it still is one of the best SF films made. I have enjoyed viewing it many times over the years, and plan to keep seeing it anytime I want!
Have you ever looked into the book it was based off. While you are correct that plently would just view it as almost a comedy scifi, it really says more than most think. Sure on a surface level it seems quite silly, but it's also quite deep. Considering when it was written and what it was really portraying.
This was good - I appreciate a “what happened to?” That doesn’t use a terrible photo to try and shock you. We all get older every day
Dina meyer ❤
Starship Troopers is one of the greatest movies ever, not just in sci-fi. Absolutely brilliant. So corny, good old Casper is seriously ordinary, but is just so great in this movie.
Dina Meyer has aged wonderfully, so gorgeous, and Rico's mum, man, what an absolute stunner.
Paul Verhoeven has directed two of the greatest movies ever. Robocop and Starship Troopers. And the original Total Recall was great too.
You need to see the Godfather! It is a good film, but not one of the greatest. See Gone With The Wind!
@@robertbe2520 Both are great movies, GWTW is the greatest movie of all time. But, if I am honest, I prefer to watch movies like RoboCop and Starship Troopers, or Kick-Ass, as they are nonstop entertainment for 2 hours, so visceral, while GWTW is a movie you watch when you are feeling mellow and have a few hours up your sleeve, and you sit back and watch a grand spectacle unfold before you. For a movie made in 1939, it has held up extremely, exceptionally even, well. I simply adore Scarlett O'Hara, and how Rhett the loveable scoundrel didn't win an Oscar, defies all laws of logic.
Remember watching this in the cinema. We were all surprised how good it turned out to be.
It sucked. The only way to consider it good would be if you had never read the book. Verhoeven made a horrible interpretation of it.
@@willflynn3370 I disagree. I've read the book and like both. They could've made the troopers more like the book in later films maybe because so many got chew up in their war with the bugs. Maybe the film is a precursor to the book? I liked and still like the satire of the film. I like Robo Cop that as well. That was another film I found surprisingly good.
@@richardwales9674 Then you haven't read the book. Good film? Yes. Good adaptation of a book? Not even close. Verhoeven destroyed it.
lol, the film is an intentional ridiculing of rabid fascist ideas of the author of the book. The movie itself filmed as fascist propaganda movie with cartoonish characters (again - intentionally). How people can't see it at this day@@willflynn3370
@@willflynn3370 Exactly, Verhoven intentionally destoyed the fascist ideas delivered in the book.
Yes it was one of the best Sci-Fi Movies of the Time love your back ground music very positive sound
One of the few movies I can watch again and again.
Starship Troopers was panned while Total Recall was universally lauded at the time. Today Starship Troopers is by far the most talked about, Verhoeven's trifecta of Sci Fi movies make him THE sci fi auteur to beat.
All these actors look great. They won't be forgotten after making this timeless classic. Still watching it!
Outstanding film great actors 👏👌👍
I'm going to go watch Starship Troopers right now!
Starship Troopers is a great movie, loved this movie when it first came out and seen it over and over, never get tired of it. I am a fan of the franchise for sure. Nice trip down memory lane, thank you. I am doing my part. This movie never gets old.
The best and most original creature Sci-fi movies of the 90's I enjoyed it so much when it first came out. The trilogy is great and worth watching all the sequels. Starship Troopers - Marauder [2008] is definitely as good as the original with a brilliant storyline. All 5 movies in the set are really watchable and have stood up well over the years.
Thanks Mr.NOSTALIA HIT
Love this movie. One of the first movies to take my oldest daughter to see. I live out in the county and the grasshoppers were bad that year, my daughter loved saying, "Bugs, killem killem all" with her electric flyswatter
Verhoeven's tongue in cheek movies ('Starship Troopers', 'RoboCop', and I have 'Total Recall' from 1990 on that list as well) were all epic.
Have a copy and rewatch it sometimes, definitely a classic.
I love this movie, watch it aver 2-3 years. Dizzy was my favorite in the movie.
My all-time favorite.
One of the best ever underrated SciFi movies of all time, who can't watch this once a week forever
I probably watch this two times a year. This movie never gets old. It's a very energetic watch.
Agree, starship troopers and the thing are two of my favorite sci-fi movies!!
LOVED THIS FILM, STILL WATCHED IT LAST YEAR
This is the only film that left me with a headache when I left the cinema as it was so in your face. I love it…
Great movie
Great job, thanks 👍
Seen this multiple times and still love it.
ha, when this movie came out on dvd is about the time i discovered video games at age 28. this movie, goldeneye, resident evil, are all part of the same great memories.
One of the few films I can watch over and over again.
Seriously this was pleasantly thorough and accurate. Well Done.
Dina Meyer has aged better than most of the others, I thought she was a far better actress than Denise Richards.
Guessing Dina Meyer was the last one because we all want to see her. Just a guess.
A movie to be seen more than once. Have it in my library.
I love this movie. Still watch it 1 or 2 times a year. Ironside was epic and always will be.
The sarcasm in this movie on the military industrial complex is second to none, I don't think most people at the time understood it.. Mechanized infantry made me the man I am today!
Starship troopers baby!! ❤
Verhoeven classic through and through. Love this movie. Though part 2 and 3 were a total let down, the CG follow-ups "Invasion" and "Traitor of Mars" were quite good.
Watched and loved "Starship Troopers", and then the PC game "Starcraft" came along and made me love it even more!
Saved the best for last!
Enjoyed all 3 of these and have them in my DvD collection.
LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!
Dina Meyer is still fine as hell!!!
Loved it!!!
When starship troopers came out, I was still in elementary school, so I wasn’t able to watch it in theaters it wasn’t until I was in my early 20s when I finally got to watch it and absolutely fell in love with the film. I did enjoy the storyline and the special effects were very impressive. I think the film was ahead of its time.
Clancy Brown was also the voice of Mr. Crabs on Sponge Bob Square Pants. My kids forced me to watch it over and over until I started to love it myself.
Yes, I agree. ST is, in my opinion, one he best sci fi movies of all time.
Hi love this film
This is possibly the most gen-X movie ever put in cinema.
And I loved every second of it, rewatched it more than any other movie.
I had a buyer raving about this movie, which I had already said sucked. I let him read the book (which he never had) and his opinion totally reversed.
Sir you got that right Starship Troopers is definitely one of the best campy Syfy movies ever made. Just a fun movie to watch. 👁️
You must have known most of us were here just to see Dina Meyer, which is why she was last am I right? Lol
Dina meyer stole every scene she was in 🔥 🔥
1 of my favourite movies. Dina is so beautiful now .....
Awesome video! A lot of these actors are within 3 years +/_ my age. Plus I've loved the movie now franchise since day one.
I agree fully. Awesome movie
loved this movie
Very nice video you made 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Ps. Thank you for my request about Freaky Friday (2003) cast then and now last week, I really appreciate it!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
And I remember Clancy Brown, he did the voice of Mr. Krabs from SpongeBob SquarePants.😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
I loved the show and went to see it 6 times when it first screened in Australia. I watch it every year as part of the list of movies I watch every year. On a side note, I loved the sequels. They never had the budget like the original and they were poorly made as a result, but I loved them anyway.
All time favorites, up there with Alien, Terminator and Predator. The Anime movie was dope also.
Loved the movie
Denise Richards hit the wall hard
This cast aged the best I've ever seen! They all look great!!
Yeah, right. D.R. could give a heart attack. She could literally get a role in the Rammstein Zick Zack clip. And that's a shame, she was so cute, and perhaps could still be if not for the obvious surgeries.
A brilliant sci fi classic
2:53 Holy Crap!!! I had NO IDEA that he was Father Gabriel from The Walking Dead!! These 2 characters are night and day!!!
I'm here for Dina Meyer 😅
Dizzy is the prize
Great film
I loved this series. Some were better or worse than others but the creativity and storylines were very entertaining for me.
I totally agree 👍🏻
Hell yes best sci-fi to date ❤
It really is one of the best. Special fx hold up well today. I loved this movie when i was a kid and still do
I think they captured and completely unique cultural vision of the future. The book is quite sparse in that department, so they had to invent a lot. Also, so many earthbound sci-fi movies depict a very bleak and ruined planet where Starship Troopers does nothing of the sort. It looked like a world where everyone was healthy and free of economic hardship. I'm not saying that's what they intended, but it sure made that impression. They also captured a much more "law and order" society where the idea of being a good citizen is paramount. Idealistic? Perhaps. Now...about that acting and cornball script. "This is about saving the species boys and girls!"
One thing they changed a lot was that the MI "Mobile Infantry" were more like one man armies in their suits. The reason they were called Mobile Infantry is that they had jump packs and bristled with weaponry. In the movie they were really fragile when in the book each Trooper was like Robocop with a jump pack, rocket launchers, helmets full of electronics and portable nukes. Also funny is that in the book, "Dizzy Flores" was only mentioned in passing at the beginning of the book as a casualty.
The enemy can not push the button, if you disable his hand ..... MEDIC!!!! Hahah. Best military sci-fi film EVER made.
Earned a like for adding Bad Boys under Clancy Brown's info. Brilliant film.
It was a pretty good movie. Always liked it.
I was in the 8th grade when I saw this flick, liked it then and now.
Great film. Dizzy was my favourite character: lively & exciting.
Agree!
Love the movie. :)
Outstanding film!!!
I loved this movie
Saw this in the theater and have to admit was underwhelmed. Guess I may need to give it another shot.
Although I preferred the book, I did enjoy the movie as its own entity.
We watched this movie every week in the late 90s
I don't know about the best scientific movies ever created but I liked it.
I liked the movie back, then, too. I thought it was funny and behind the dark humor (which I love) made some great points. I like the book, too, but I like the movie more.
I always loved this movie.
Best coolest movie ever
I do not think it was one of the best Sci Fi Movies ever made, butt it is one of my favorites!
I saw Van Dien a couple weeks ago and he still looks great and is full of energy!
SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!!
Does Dina Meyer age! She's still a knockout.
She is STILL one of my major crushes!!
Nope I we had a college course together in NY, before she moved to Los Angeles. Nice woman.
Damit, if that picture is really her at 53 she looks fantastic and at least i see no signs of medical "help" that mostly makes people just look worse. Besides maybe the teeth, but thats "normal" in the US i guess. I should maybe rewatch "Birds of Prey" again 🤔
Dizzy! 😢
Damn Dina Myers is still hot 😈👍💋
