How to paint easy bubbles and water droplets - Time Lapse Demo by Lachri

  • In this time lapse painting demonstration, I m giving you tips and techniques to teach you how to paint simple water droplets and bubbles. I am using acrylic paint but you can also do this with oils. I painted this on a Fredrix Value Series Cut Edge Canvas Panel. This was a great canvas for practice because they are inexpensive, yet you're still working on a fredrix canvas so the surface feels just like working on a stretched canvas. Thanks to Fredrix for providing me with the canvas.

    6 years later and this is still very helpful! I was also wondering what type of music was in the background to listen to while i paint only to find out it's you playing violin👏 amazing job,

    I’ve only been painting for the last year or so, making mixed media canvases currently working on a sea horse and this is the first tutorial that’s made sense and shown what I needed without having to watch half an hour or more of pointless chat so thank you !

    Lovely bubbles and water droplets. You make the technique look so simple. Enjoyed listening to the lovely violin music in the background, very calming. Would have been nice to have that music with me on my recent time in hospital, at least I'm out now. God Bless and keep up the great videos.

    in the beginning they just looked like convex holes in the background to me, right up until you put the shadows in, and then POP...out pops the bubbles!

    That was great. It helps me to know that the light comes in the shine mark, hits the back wall. Then, that back wall is surrounded by shadow.

    I am so glad I came across this tutorial. I'm planning on making a underwater reef painting to commemorate the Aquarium trip that my husband and I took for our 3 yr wedding anniversary. I wanted to add in bubbles but didn't know how to do them. I'm still a beginner with acrylic painting. But tutorial was simple to understand !! Thank you for sharing !!

      My bubbles might of been a bit too big but my husband loved it and was almost to tears when he saw it. (n_n) He said the bubble size is fine and gives it a feel of depth perception like the bubbles are closer to you which is why they're bigger.       Robyn Newberry Good luck! With oils, remember sometimes you need to let the paint dry before you work into your next layer, or you can easily create a muddy mess :)
