When Kai rides these big waves he makes them look small with his carves and turns etc, when others ride them they look like big waves cause they just go straight and head for the channel. The difference between Kai and the others is unbelievable. Also shout out to the finless wonder Fink !!! that is next level wild.
Amazing!! It's so amazing... I'm a big Jaws fan, but this may be the first time I've seen such a huge image. I'm so impressed to finally see Jaws in action! Comparing big waves from all over the world is never a good thing for Mother Nature, but I'd like to say something. There are many videos that are prematurely talking about the Mavericks breaking the world record, but I want you to watch this season's Jaws properly and say that! Every wave is a potential world record candidate! The images and videos of Mavericks look very different depending on the angle. This one is a head-on battle, and you can see how real the monster is. I want them to be properly evaluated in the big wave challenge. If it were me, I would choose this one👍
Nice video. You know what would be cool? Instead of music, a directional microphone that tracks the camera direction, or even just broadly in the area where the waves are breaking and being surfed.
As a pro musician with 51 years' experience and first stood on a surfboard at 4 years old, I concur. When I see these waves I do not think of this, or any music.....beyond what the waves themselves generate. I like the channel by ODL (off da Lip) since they use the natural sound of the waves. Amazing video footage and editing though! I can always turn off the sound.
Truly don't understand how these guys don't die when they fall. To hit the water going that fast, almost definitely knocks the wind out of you, and then to get held under for 20+ seconds without any air in your lungs....
