- Metal / rock fans first time reaction to Don Williams' "Sea of Heartbreak" while checking out some Redemption Cognac Finished
You remember this from Heatbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood.
This song was cowritten by Hal David. It was used in a movie Keith. In the film they were showing a newsreel and this was playing over that section of film. The movie was Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood. Song has been covered by many, many people including The Searchers, Jimmy Buffett and many more.
Oh, then I definitely heard it in Heartbreak Ridge. - Keith
Yeah it was playing in opening credits of heartbreak ridge while showing footage of Korean War
Such an upbeat, bopping sad song.😳
I remember hearing it as a kid. I like it.
Thanks guys!
HEARTBREAK RIDGE
CLINT EASTWOOD
the move that introduced the term “cluster fuck” to the world. 😂😂lol great movie
To the world maybe, but not to Marines. Standard part of the lexicon. - Keith
GI"s used that one and Snafu often and that was in the 60's for me.
Don Gibson wrote a lot of great songs. Two of his most popular that he had hits on but are known by other artist is “I can’t stop loving you” Ray Charles and sweet dreams by patsy cline .
I looked up while I was watching the video.Jimmy Buffet and King George Strait did versions of this song.
Keith, I know you're a Buffet fan. He covered on the License to Chill album
Yay, Glad to see y'all. I bought a new sound bar for my television to make the music sound better. Spent yesterday listening to the older videos while cleaning house. Enjoyed the cuteness factor and realized how much more polished and confident you both are now than in the beginning. I've always liked this song, but I'll be stuck with it all day. lol
This one is a serious earwig.- Keith
Yes you guys are getting better on the music and still entertaining. Good job keep it up!
I found this song on the movie Clay Pigeons.
FYI new bottles for pickup
Request: my fave Toby Keith songs you haven’t done yet are I Wanna Talk About Me, Who’s Your Daddy, Whiskey Girl. All of these have entertaining music videos!
Don Gibson recorded this in 1961
Robert Plant covered this song live (that's how I found it). Also "Young Boy's Blues"
I'd never heard "earwig" used in that context before and I do love music, Boom boom boom~!
Hey guys, I sent you a bribe through Total Wine (thanks for your help Steve). I know nothing about the bourbon, but I checked and it didn't look like it had been on the channel yet. I hope it's good, and I hope you enjoy the Song!
I chose a song by an artist from my childhood, I hope y'all will like it. "Lovenworth" by Roy Rogers, was released in 1971, towards the latter years of his career. Like so many before me, Roy Rogers was one of my childhood heroes even though he was well before my time! (I was born in 95). I loved the Old West and inparticular the music of the Old West!
Your welcome bro
Keith first and foremost even though it's a day late I'll be memorial Day. Yep earwig no doubt about it stuck in my head now. But it's a great song. Marty Robbins did a whole lot of Hawaiian music back in the 50s and early 60s. It appears to have been a thing. Overall anyway you look at it it was a great reaction and I enjoyed it guys
So this is a classic. Americana according to Roseanne Cash essential !! Love his version and Roseanne’s.
That bum bum bum screams Conway and it has the somewhere over the rainbow island vibe
Love this Don Gibson song. It is quite possible that it was covered by Johnny Cash; definitely covered by Roseanne Cash (featuring Bruce Springsteen) about 15 to 20 years ago.
Good song
I enjoyed it! It definitely had that classic sound! I'm finding that I enjoy a lot of older artists and their songs!
I recently discovered Tom Lehrer, and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! He had so many hysterical songs!
It was in the movie Heartbreak Ridge
Which is almost definitely where I heard it. - Keith
if you havent watched the clint eastwood movie heartbreak ridge as the opening credits roll this song is playing clint being the badass gunny training a bunch of young wet behind the ears marines into force recon
I think every Marine has seen Heartbreak Ridge. - Keith
LoL.. the bom-bom-bom.. reminded me of Shanana, some of the music from the tv program... but yep 50s. Nice reaction!
ohhhhh whyyyyyy did you remind me of Sha na na? - Keith
@BourbonCountryReacts ummm...IDK, cause it reminded me and I had to share??🤣
I think Johnny Cash did a cover of this song. It has very different vibes when he sings it.
Lol, I love me some Gunny Highway. Good song loved the movie. Movies already been mentioned lol. Great reaction as usual.
We had a guy in my unit that was Gunny Highway in every single way except without the CMH. Salty assed nam vet. Hard as nails. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts sound like my kinda guy. Great reaction.
Semper Fi.
Oh jeez. You’re totally right, it would fit right inside New Vegas’s radio. Sadly less F4.
Yep. I could just hear it on the pip-boy. - Keith
Dustin and Keith:
Please react/discover the Lady that is brining tradition back to Country. Paid 12 yrs of hard dues, Lainey was featured in Hardy” Wait in the Truck. She has taken Female and Entertainer of the Year!
Lainey Wilson - Wildflowers & Wild Horses
I have a bribe sent in already requesting Lainey. So it should be coming soon! I gave them a choice between 2 videos.
Yes, I'm an oldie and was once a mechanic, both cars & diesel heavy equipment machines. I owned Nortons & Triumphs, that would explain the 50 wt. in the hair. What would you expect me to be listening to in the 50's & 60tys? I always stepped on earwigs, didn't you? Keith had mentioned cognac in a review, and I remembered it, he got lucky this time Dustin. Maybe you're turns next!
Maybe I had the Don's mixed up. I wasn't expecting the boom booms either, just him & the guitar. Must have been a different record. I'll get away from the OG's with the new orders coming.
George Strait and Jimmy Buffett did a great version of this song.
Yes that song was in the same movie with the cadence of Got 57 Chevy and a tank full of gas, a mouthful of $&@$$ and a handful of @$&😂😂😂😂
Half the cadences from my day would land you in the brig now. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts I here you think about my ding a long cadence
I haven't seen the movie, but I just looked it up and I might have to watch it! It definitely looks interesting!
BTW Steve and Keith, I'm grateful we were not celebrating you yesterday. I'm so grateful for those who have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice in defense of our freedom. I'm also grateful for you guys and all the Men and Women who voluntarily risk their lives and are willing to pay that ultimate sacrifice if that day were to come. I try not to say happy memorial day, rather I say Grateful Memorial Day.
@@MrNiccholas it is definitely worth a watch
I liked "The higher the mountain, the deeper the grass, the younger the girl the tighter the ***. Some were obscene at best, heh heh...Liked them all.
