i have played on both and on bari a couple times, i play tenor on a regular basis, i started playing tenor when i started music though, so, alto seems like nothing to blow into for me, yet alto players will tell you that a tenor takes more air, bigger horn, more air it takes, pretty much a rule of thumb :)
dude u just have such a beautiful tone i seriously must have listened to it over 20 times today u have such a golden tone!! i wish i had a tone like yours, its very mellow.
@Gelfling66 well, thank you for your reply. i think thats why a lot of people here like to listen to Brians tunes. U can somehow tell he plays with heart. i sure will think about it. In the mean time i will just continue listening and enjoying.
I gave the techno grove in the very beginning through the piece to my 3 Baris, my 5 tenors are split with 3 2nd tenors playing background chords with 2 1st tenors, 4 alto 2s, and 4 alto 1s for the whole verse section. Every four bars the melody is passed between the 4 seniors so after 16 bars the bridge to the chorus comes "you've just got to ignite", where everyone is playing with div. in alto 2, then it goes to just a duet of tenor and alto, and everyone's back in at chorus.
WOW, I played alto sax but I stopped. This song has now inspired me to play all over again. Thank You!!!!!! -By the way your pitch is BEAUTIFUL LOVE IT :)
@alvachristians heart. to play an instrument like this, you have to put so much time and effort into it, and having a connection to it. ik that sounds weird, but you need an emotional connection to your saxophone. for myself, my uncle passed away. he was absolutely amazing and i still miss him, but he used to play it, and im using his old sax, so when i play, i play for him. something like this takes so much time and dedication, and you have to love what youre doing
I play alto tenor and soprano.can you post sheet music and if you learned this by ear like I have for some pieces you got real skillz man NICE JOB BRAVO
WOW that was an awesome cover! Beautiful pitch, tone, just, LOVE IT! Thank you :) that was one of the highlights of my night :P Keep up the amazing work! =]
@tagsdgsdg I played B Flat and Bass Clarinet before I learned saxophone, now I play the Tenor and Alto! Its not difficult at all, a little bit of an embouchure change but really easy to learn! I learned it and a month and became first chair in a section who had been playing for 3+ years!
@hannah12144 i had the same issue when i first switched to tenor from trumpet, it could be the neck or mouthpiece your using or maybe you just need to relax more with your ombeschure (im sure i spelled that wrong). i would try the ombeschure first, and if nothing happens then i would assume to try a different mouthpiece or neck. i currently use a jazz neck and a cork mouthpiece and they seem to have helped me a bit.
You are very talented. I've been playing Alto & Tenor Sax for 5 years now and still feel like a rookie. How long have you been playing? What makes tenor sax are you using?. Also what mouthpiece and reed are you playing? What mic system are you using? Keep playing. It is definitely adictive.....
if your a good musician and know your instrument then you can listen to a note and be able to play it and allowing you to play anything you want and its at that point which this guy is at and which every musician dreams of getting to
i play tenor and alto its about the same the tenor is a tiny bit harder but i like its range alot better it can go the same in the upper register but can go a few notes lower with alot more ease. and what reeds do u use hardness and brand i need to figure out a good brand
I love your cover of this!! I figured out what I could from the fingerings, but it was hard still. I played this in Band for warmup, and everyone was singing! XD Could you please send the notes for Tenor Sax!! It would mean alot to me. :)
What a beautifull sound a sax makes. And the way you play it in harmony is just perfect.
I love the Tenor Sax.. The first time I heard one (which was this) I literally fell in love with the Tenor..
Hard to find a guy not ashamed to play katy perry lol. Keep up the good work.
five foot tall and marching tenor in band like a bad ass. incredible sound, man, you remind me why I switched from alto the this glorious instrument.
i have played on both and on bari a couple times, i play tenor on a regular basis, i started playing tenor when i started music though, so, alto seems like nothing to blow into for me, yet alto players will tell you that a tenor takes more air, bigger horn, more air it takes, pretty much a rule of thumb :)
