Some fun Dayton, Ohio lore for you… years ago Will Smith almost produced a show about Courage Crew. It was because his wife played in Wicked Wisdom which played with Bury Your Dead and they all became friends
@@Elias_619 it was on Spotify I just looked tho and I don’t see the GH song but there’s other bangers… maybe I was mistaken of my source but I’m positive that he put me on
Been real stoked for this one. Wouldn't be where I'm at today without matty's influence. Knowing that a goofy ass tattooed hardcore kid could make it in the culinary world was such an inspiration for an aimless hardcore kid like myself. Much love and excitement.
@@mb9284I cannot fathom the staggering ignorance it would take for a person to come to a Hardlore video, a Matty video, and get butthurt when someone inevitably uses the phrase, "hardcore kid." I mean, 54:52 lol Get bent.
Working in kitchens, and living in Buffalo, I’ve ran into Matty a few times. It’s always funny having a conversation with him when he’s not being the character he has become. He’s just a genuinely good dude.
i listened on spotify at work and i just gotta say this so the greatest post cast episode i’ve ever listened to . and matty and you guys have said some of the most relatable honest inspiring things . even probably not on purpose but this shit hit
Got some vids on my channel of Hardcore shows that happened at The Shop @Parts & Labour during it’s run, if anyone’s interested. It’s no longer a venue for hardcore/punk/metal shows, but as a Filipino coreman, I find it kinda cool it’s turned into a nightclub/cultural hub for Toronto’s Filipino community.
Don’t think I’ve seen anything with Matty being so…matty and not the yelling and loud matty, which is great too, but it’s so rad seeing him just be so relaxed Master killer of guests
from one matt to another matty. thank you for giving me more motivation for my clothing brand. im just not there yet, and i need to to take those steps and keep working at it until i get there ^^ such a great episode guys
Every time "No Warning - Suffer, Survive" gets mentioned I'm smiling. Fuckin loooove that album. They should tour with this album and the shows would be sooo sick, no doubt
Neither moved me and I think Suffer Survive hit mostly for those under 18 at the time. The vocals put it in a crossover zone for someone just finding this stuff as a teen considering what was on the radio.
Ire---deep cut! Respect to Matty. He is one of the folks I respect a lot as a hardcore/metal dude that is sober. Seems like a solid fuckin' guy, thanks for having him on the show!
London Ontario here we had pure concrete with James o chrw western university channel is where I learned my metal back in the day being a lil skate rat.still listen most fridays
Man, loved seeing Kid Gorgeous at Pine Room in Oakville back in the day. Great references. Matty is an encyclopedia of Canadian scene knowledge. Remember seeing Hayemaker at the Cork Town tavern and a riot broke out. Just looked over at the bar and some random accountant looking guy started smashing a barstool into the ground. At the mercy of inspiration was such an incredible band. Used to jam with Jett and Jesse. Remember No Warning starting fights with tech metal bands in parking lots lol. What a time to be alive. The GTA used to have such a robust selection of great bands in the early 2000s
Wow! Dropping some old school christian hardcore names Dodgin Bullets, Shock Wave, Disciple and early christian Underoath. Figure Four was another one from Canada. Point of Recognition and Overcome were awesome as well.
What Matty was describing as his current favorite bite kind of reminds me of speck rendered over bread in the oven or furnace, a Czech or German creation I believe? So like Czech/German Japanese Canadian fusion?
Green Room - SOOO RIGHT ! They wouldnt have even walked into that venue and i think theyre getting stomped before they get out of the van. But the dude that makes those movies is an old sxe hxc dude from the DC area. His movies are so rad. Jeremy Saulnier.
Dropped out of college as a graphic designer, after learning the basics and had a kick ass freelance design career that took me all over the world and paid my bills for almost a decade. DROP OUT
Does anyone remember if Matty says a quote something like ‘you’re not there yet’ in this interview? I’m trying to find it. He says it’s like his life motto

Wisconsin resident here: the fact that Matty shouted out Solly’s Grille & Kopp’s Custard made my entire month
Kopps so FIRE!!
This is a gift to everyone on earth. Thanks for being the best podcast in the game

I love that MM knows Poison the Well. Despite that it's towards their end but every band is a journey and I connect. Food and music for life.
This was so beautiful.
Three minutes in and I’m already craving McDonalds
The magic of the lore
New episode of Hardlore comes out and my stomach is screaming for a McDouble
It's not worth the price anymore they've caught up to in n out
And slot machine gambling
Some fun Dayton, Ohio lore for you… years ago Will Smith almost produced a show about Courage Crew. It was because his wife played in Wicked Wisdom which played with Bury Your Dead and they all became friends
I love this idea of getting non-musician punk and hard-core persona on the podcast, keep up the fine work gentlemen
Matty mentioning Hammock is everything. I'm with I'm, I listen to that good ambient music all the time. Steadies the nerves
Long live post rock ❤
Hammock all time band for me since their near beginning-no joke. Love it so much
@@loganyoung2408huge old post rock fan....they are much more though. Ambient first. Mixed. But truly more than just post rock.
Not even gonna lie Matty Matheson put me on to God’s Hate years ago and so many other bands from his banging playlist!
