Theres a glitch which allows engineers sentry to ram into enemies not destroying the sentry yet still damaging the enemy if they cross it allowing you to actually deal huge dmg if you place engineer close to path
Problem with this matchup is that accel is always going to be seen as ‘better’ because of how much stronger it is, despite the fact that it’s average dps hovers around 286 according to the wiki thanks to an equation I’m too lazy to calculate, the laser beam deals almost 500 dps if you’re going off of in game stats, and the engineer buff wasn’t even that much of a buff, it just brought it closer to 400 dps than before thanks to the fact that the war machine sentries got nerfed. Now is engineer a bad tower, no, not in the slightest but it will get overshadowed at every turn because of the fact it’s a ‘Jack of all trades’ tower, never the best at something, but can always pull its weight when it comes to it. BUT the fucking kids are gonna complain that accelerator is ‘ToO StOnG’ and deserves to be nerfed into the ground, then they’ll complain that it’s too weak. The devs don’t listen to shit like this because of how stupid it is, accel is perfect the way it is thanks to the lock on mechanic, and you can’t satisfy everyone so it’s best to leave it alone until the devs decide to buff it to godhood or something, I don’t know
Thing about engi is its all round tower so if it deals more dmg than accel than engineer would be broken i think the fix is not the gems but actually just add splash dmg as one of her maind dmg types and make every gamemode be splash dmg freindly on normal waves similiar to tdx

The red ring on the engineer is actuallu the place that she cant place the sentry, she can still attacking zombie in that red ring
