I love Switzerland, I've been to Zermatt 3- 4 times, all in the winter for skiing, but I would love to go during the summer.. after a very exhausting travel into the secluded town. since gas powered vehicles aren't allowed, we take like 4 hr bus ride from airport then 2 hr train ride while schlepping skis & equipment after an 8+ hr plane ride!!! but once you arrive u are greeted by a Bavarian style uumpah band wearing elaborate, big, furry costumes, there's a sleigh pulled by reindeer through this winter wonderland with a blanket of snow covering the roofs of the rustic looking but modern chalets, out our balcony the majestic mountains & Matterhorn are right there, the sky is very blue, the air is crisp and clean no pollution, and beautiful sights, flora & fauna everywhere you look.. if u wake up early u can catch them throwing dynamite to trigger the controlled avalanches! 1 sad truth is that the Matterhorn is rapidly shrinking due to global warming I've noticed from the 1st time I was there (Jan 1998) to the last (Feb 2012) & our guide brought it to our attention, after all it is a glacier... so please do your part & ♻️ and leave a small 👣 ✌️❤️🙏
