This was prior to Reagan doing his modernization, so no box launcher, all the AA guns intact. When MO was decommissioned a friend worked at the munitions disposal site, when 100s of 100# bags of powder arrived from her (by train). A single kernel of powder (the size of your thumb) found its way to me, one of my prize momentos.

Iowa is a great museum, I visited last summer! I think I missed out on some of the self-guided tour due to time (I went straight there from the airport) - I'll have to go back someday.
Fab video. I've only seen DD Småland in Gothenburg, and while that was super cool I'm definitely going on a BB when I come across to the US next time. Would love to see the Missouri and do the Pearl Harbour experience some day but Hawaii is a looooong way from Europe....
