    He'd probably find them even better without cloth covered ears. Like looking at the Mona Lisa with sunglasses on.

    To all of the people wondering why he wears the hat and and covers his ears, it is because he had surgery on his skin and has scars so he prefers to keep them hidden. Don't go about making ignorant and harmful comments about the man's attire if you do not know the back story. Plus he has some of the best soulful music that is out right now and a Grammy for damn near his voice alone so go give him a listen.

      Electrostatic headphones like the orpheus require a tight seal with the skin to sound good. With cloth on cloth you won't get the adequate bass response. I hope he took it off when the camera wasn't running. Otherwise it would be a wasted opportunity.

    I've watched this video so many times now. Ever since the day it came out I've watched it at least once a week and I cry every time. Sennheiser's attention to detail and innovation has inspired me to create and think bigger and I hope to someday have a company that makes art as incredible as yours. Thank You!!!

      Well over a year later and I still love this video. I know nobody cares but just in case anybody over at Sennheiser reads these comments I just want you all to know that Sennheiser still inspires me and is one of the main reasons why I fell in love with music. I will never buy from another headphone brand. I know this all sounds really corny but I can not tell you how much Sennheiser means to me.

      Just here for my yearly revisit of this video haha. I’ve learned so much about the more technical side of audio this year and I’m thinking of changing my major from computer science to audio engineering. This video still inspires me and gives me chills but more than that, I truly see now how little I really knew back then about how it all works and even now I know so little. But that just excites me in a whole new way. I love the mystery and I love that chase for something better, the pursuit of perfect sound as you guys put it. I hope to join you guys in that pursuit someday, whether at Sennheiser or in the industry in general. Of course, it would be my dream to work for Sennheiser, so hopefully I can reach that level in my lifetime. Thank you again for what your team has created, it is truly something special and it means something to someone. Never stop.

    Why this headphone is not offered for $5000. It would be like an iPhone launch where all music lovers will stand in lines to buy it. The outcome will be more revenue and even profit to Sennheiser. When business and passion are put together, they create innovations. What I see here is a short sight where one product is used as a tool to promote the brand and sell other products. I feel sad.

    • @kamiliwanski6638
      @kamiliwanski6638 8 років тому +2

      +Imad Choucair For $5000 you can hardly get HD 800 with HDVD 800 (non-tube amplifier) and an XLR cable. The other problem is the development process (and the resources needed). I think the least they could charge (in order to get any profit) is 25-30 grand (as they probably gonna produce only like 500 of them). Tbh if I had the money, I'd definitely buy them even for that 50k price tag. But that's just my opinion :)

    Orpheus and this headphone is that it is overprized gimmic.much bettere value is stax lambda signature mk2.that time orpheus cost way more but much less than today.All recomended to buy some staxs and a shitload off music etc for the rest you had to pay for this overprized thing.I guess the world wants to be fooled.Today wee have stax omega oo9 still way cheaper and just as good as this overprized thing.I have had my stax since 1992 and they are still goind strong.The amplfier has had a recap and the volum potmeter was changed to a attenuator 21 steps with wishay dale smd resistors in it.never played better 30 years on. i paid around 720 dollars here for it new with amplifier.the amplfier that folowed was portable with battery space or stationare with linear powersupply adapter.have since got a better one.

It's ridiculously expensive, but it's simply the best there is. Something can't be called overpriced when there isn't anything that can do equally good or better for less.
