Hey Chris, really great information here. I've got Kali running on my 2nd monitor & am following along as you do things while taking notes... Yes, the 'WHY' is missed so often in lectures, and I am a "WHY" person.
Awesome sir, I am in the IT sector in Canada, but I have never seen a person like you who teaches a lot in a straightforward way and less time.
I am completely new to wireshark, i am beginning in a trainee position and only have basic understanding from speedclasses on network.(and natural knowledge from growing up with old PC and home networks i needed to learn to repair on my own many times) This is helping me alot even though i dont understand all of the information yet. Anything that is confusing leads me on a google adventure and i learn even more. Thanks for the videos.
I know this class series is a bit older now, but i wanted to drop a massive thank you just the same. Im stepping up my network game at work which also gappens to be a new company for me too. Ive been able to follow along and also realized how much i already knew, but was able to get fully comfy. On my way to becoming an SME in no time!! Thank you my good sir x a thousand!

I installed WireShark on my droid & PC a few years ago, poked around in it a bit on a bunch of occasions but always found it to be - as Yoú perfectly put it "a bit daunting"...
Watched a bunch of UA-cam "tutorials"
But everyone skips the basics & start at the *deep end*...

Hello from Venezuela Mr. Chris and thank you so much for your work and your will to teach.
From my point of view teaching the protocols that rules the network communications, using Wireshark as the tool to do it, is an amazing idea, once you get the hold of wireshark, it becomes the proper tool for explaining the protocols.
Please, in the future, can you consider doing a video or a series of videos about the subject of IpSec. Its a most useful and commercially usable tool.

Thanks so much for your instructive information. I noticed on this video that the sound is not in sync with the video. I had this problem with my video recording and found handbrake software a great tool to correct that by adjusting the frame rate to a constant 30 frames per second. When handbrake configured the video to constant frame rate, the voice and video were synced.
