I was only 9 to 10 years old back in ‘64 and ‘65 but I was totally hooked on all the great music from The Beatles and all the British Invasion music. Peter and Gordon, Dave Clark 5, The Stones, The Animals, The Zombies, Herman’s Hermits many more. What a great time to grow up !

@tanyahardy5065 What amazes me even more than Peter Asher forgetting the correct order of the lyrics to a song the duo must have sung thousands of times by 2009, is that apparently NO ONE in the audience remembered either. Aww I almost cried at the end of this video when it said Gordon Died a few days after this concert. He looked tired. I loved it when Peter put on his “ original glasses from the past“. My favorite song of theirs is Woman ❤️🙏🏻🌹 Thanks again for sharing this gem from the past.
It’s so sad to lose these rock icons that millions of people grew up with. At least footage of their performances and interviews during their prime years and later years help to fill the loss. But the world is still a little less fun without the likes of Gordon, John, George, Chad, Elvis, Van Halen, etc.
great late career concert they still sound good and harmonize well. good selection of their hits and other songs. sorry to hear of Gordon wallers passing in 2009. long may they survive in the hearts of those who appreciated them.
It is so sad that Gordon is no longer with u ,he was a great singer a great talent and he is truly missed by one & all. I will never forget meeting Gordon in Dallas in October of 2000, he was a sweet charming man. RIP Gordon! I was lucky enough to see Peter And Gordon in person on 7-14-65 at Salina , Kansas's Memorial Hall. I wish I could bring that special night back I will always cherish the memories of that night. Thanks for uploading this wonderful video. Cheers: Christine V. Berndt
We got to see Peter Asher on the Flower Power Cruise in February. He is an amazing story teller. His stories about he and Gordon, about Paul McCarthy, who lived with Peter's family for two years when the Beatles were just starting out, about all the legends he worked with as a producer, and of coarse, listening to his amazing music was one of the very best three hours we spent on this wonderful cruise down memory lane. I really would love to see them book him again on next years cruise.
Well done gentlemen. Circa 1963/4 me and a friend Fred, entered a talent competition at the Embassy Ballroom Skegness. We played " World without Love" by Peter and Gordon, I sung and played the guitar, and we were backed the " Johnny Mann Band" great memories, great songs and a great decade.
Their songs were brand new when I was in high school. I was in art class and the teacher sometimes would let us listen to the radio. One day in particular, True Love Ways was playing. When I hear it now, I can see the classroom in my mind....
Oh my gosh- I'm sitting here crying. I have loved these two since 1964. This is so beautifully done. You did an excellent job at all the recording and editing. Thanks so much for bring back my wonderful childhood. Rip Gordon😍😍
Great performers, a lady Godiva moment comes to us all as the years roll by, this will now be my new catchword lol, great people and great singers , thanks for the memories. R.I.P. Gordon Waller, you will be missed.
@andrewreynolds2647: I take it from your comment that-like Peter Asher-you don't realize that PETER WAS WRONG! Gordon Waller DID remember the correct order of the lyrics. How utterly embarrassing for Gordon to be stopped and wrongly called out/corrected ON STAGE by Peter. No wonder Gordon threw out his hands and looked at Peter as if to say "WHAT?! What the hell did I do wrong?!" You did nothing wrong, Gordon. It's PETER who can't remember the correct order of the song's lyrics, lol!
Robert Craig Me too. When I was a teenager I used to think people in their 30’s were ANCIENT. 😆 I’m 66 now and love reminiscing about those wonderful times!!
I had a wonderful evening some years back, when The Searchers and Peter & Gordon double-billed at a local Casino Theatre in Vancouver. It was definitely a most enjoyable show when the two acts performed the favorite hits!! ... These shows are hard to come by these days...!!
I still have the "Lady Godiva" record. I got it for Christmas when I was about 10 or 11.. It's 51 years old!... wow Peter and Gordon still sing this song great!...
I was a teen back in the day when these guys hit the A.M. radio waves. WABC out of New York with cousin Brucy. Such great times. The Beatles, Supremes, Lulu, etc. In less then two months the world will lose Gordon Waller. We all will grow old one day if we live long enough and the end comes for us all.
This made me cry. It was such a wonderful time, our youth. I met Peter and Gordon when I was 12. I got Gordon's autograph first, and he looked down and said, "What a pretty little girl. I liked the pretty, but not the little girl. Then I ran to Peter and got his autograph and asked him how Jane and Claire were doing. I've never forgotten. I saw them the 4 times they came to my town. What a wonderful time we have lived in. I will always love them. I am sad that Gordon died.😢😢😢
We all have that one HEART THROB we never forget. Gordon was mine. I was lucky enough to talk to him by phone once & meet him in person once. He was kind & lovely. I will NEVER forget it. When I heard he had passed I was beyond sad. R.I.P. Gordon. You left us too soon. ❤
Wow! What a treasure to watch and listen to! I was 12 then and this music from the British invasion was my world then. Saw P & G at a Fest for Beatles fans but this was way better! Great to hear them sing great covers as well as the hits. Well done hope you have more like this. God Bless!
Thanks for posting this. I think this was their last performance. It's great to see them perform together, there is so much history there. Not sure why Gordon who towered over Peter in the '60s looks shorter here, and maybe he's not playing guitar because it was too much for him to both play an instrument and sing because of his failing health. Their voices beautifully blended, didn't they? Their sense of humor was wonderful. I am sad I never got to see them perform together since Gordon has passed on to the next dimension.
mysticmaverick1 Well said. Yes, the height difference on stage is very bizarre. Good observation. Lady Godiva ad libs were touching. Peter very dynamic and Gordon rather heavy and subdued. Great to have this. RIP Gordon. So talented.
I said to my husband, I bet they never thought they would be such "old farts." He said, well what do you think we are? I said I am an "old fartress" who lived during the best music time in history! Thank you Peter and Gordon!

the 60's was the best decade since music started and the best artists ever, but i would say that being a teenager then not only were the artist of that time could really sing and write and to me were a lot better looking then to,the crap they call music today like that shit rap that some think is great,is doesn't take much talent to talk to some crappy music ,and most only talk of filth and killings, the only decade i enjoyed since was the 80's they were good to,but since then,i don't bother even turning on my radio in my car when that crap in on ,thank god for sirius radio at least you can still listen to the best classics ever, but when the music industry started to allow these horrible so called singers to swear and talk about killings and so many other vulgar things, just because times change doesn't mean you still can have class which most don't and you want your kids to listen to that, then the music companies should close down forever
I'll Do My Cryin' in the Rain.....was my favorite song by P&G...but that's a hard pick because I loved ALL of their music!!!!! My wife and I saw them at DisneyWorld not too long before Gordon passed away!!!! I can't say enough about what THEY and the BEATLES did to my teen years! Love to them all!!

Interesting to see them persisting in doing Lady Godiva until they finally got it right. I think the band was a little off, which in turn threw Peter Asher's timing off as well.
Gordon didn't have Parkinson's. x
@AkiroXKE
The ONLY one who "was a little off" that night was Peter Asher.
Gordon sang the lyrics in the CORRECT ORDER. What happened
was Peter Asher's mind jumped ahead to the THIRD verse,
thinking it was the second verse. Gordon did indeed sing the
correct lyrics in the CORRECT ORDER:
"Seventeen, a beauty queen
She made a ride that caused a scene
In the town
Her long blonde hair
Hangin' down around her knees
All the cats who dig striptease
Prayin' for a little breeze..."
THEN the next verse-that Peter is confused over-comes in:
"Her long blonde hair
Fallin' down across her arms
Hidin' all the lady's charms
Lady Godiva."
What amazes me even more than Peter Asher forgetting the
correct order of the lyrics to a song the duo must have sung
thousands of times by 2009, is that apparently NO ONE in the
audience remembered either. Either that, or no one had the guts
to shout out "PETER, YOU'R WRONG! GORDON GOT IT RIGHT!"
at which point-hopefully-Peter would have been forced to apologize
to Gordon and THEN they could begin all over again.
Sheesh! Is it any wonder why Gordon, with more than a touch of ire
to his voice, said to Peter, " I'll tell you what, I've got a good idea, you
do it ON YOUR OWN!" Poor Gordon! 😒🙄
I love their version of Willow Garden.
