I almost read that as Range Vipers!😅 I have never logged on to BBTS so fast! 😂 Fortunately I'm good on Alley Vipers. I have 36 in my ranks already. Did you purchase any?
@@alanthecollector no I bought them in early Jan from Walmart 17.25 a little more then bbts but Walmart does free shipping so I’m good with 5 Also wow 36 a little too much for me mostly cause of space and I like to change diorama in my shelf with serpentor I like crimson guard red only for CC also are u reading gijoe 301-present it is awesome
Another joy to watch review. This figure uses the Outback body. That figure is a favorite of the entire line for me. I only bought one of the blue and gray Range Viper figure. I have one of the-HISS Fire Team figures as well. I’ll get one of the purple ones too as well as the female version they will also release. Hopefully they do a few more color ways. To me these guys are not armies but extreme mission units. There can only be one Blue so he’s replaced due to combat or the successor slays the current trooper. There’s a ranking too of the colors. The purple is the leader. I think he’s called Skull Buster. The female is purple too and she is Evy. These characters are ruthless in the comics. So I created a head cannon where Range Vipers are extreme agents and only work in very small squads. I think if I remember there were a few colors in the 90s or-ring figures. So besides the red/black, blue/grey, most likely released Purple/grey Skull Buster and Eve, they will do a green/black, and Tan/brown options as well. I guess we’ll see in time.
I can’t believe I didn’t notice the reuse of Outback’s body until now. I thought they were similar, but I never bothered to compare them! Thanks for the clarification!
I think you hit the nail on the head with your ideas. They seem really cool and thought out. Compared to some of my other Classified army builders this is definitely one of my smaller squads, but maybe I’ll keep them where they are at knowing that these guys are like the elite commandos of the Cobra army. Question, who has bigger hierarchy between cobra trooper, infantry (they look just the same to me) and cobra officer?

Much appreciated and Thank you for watching! As far as hierarchy goes Cobra Infantry are the lowest in the totem pole while the Cobra troopers are a rank above basic infantry. The Officers would the be the highest ranked of the three, at least that’s how I make sense of it.
And you what doesn’t make sense to me? On a value matters, infantry are the most expensive, then trooper and officer being the cheapest hahaha well you know that better than me. Crazy market right ?
It’s crazy, but also justifiable. I think many would agree that the Range Viper is just a better figure overall than the Cobra Officer based on sculpt and accessories alone. The Officer was a bit overproduced and in reality most people don’t want an army of Cobra Officers. You just need a few depending on the size of your army. As for the Cobra Infantry & Cobra Trooper, those are the most basic soldiers and there for you could almost never have too many which is the reason why they’ve gone up in price so significantly.
Great review. Hate to admit that I bought 8 of these!! 88-94 is my era and I will buy 6+ of any vipers/cobra troopers from that time.

I'm odd I use the different sub lines differently like for example Python Patrol I use them as the coil and have them Serpentors army makes a cool Cobra Civil war style display

I Guess the jokes on me! 😅To be quite honest I never scanned the figures after they went with the plastic free plaguing, but I will say the first few waves of the classified line would send you to a website to learn about the character when you scanned the QR code! Nice review, Range Viper is one of my 2 favorite Cobra troopers along with the Alley Viper. I've always seen the "brain" as a liquid radiator system, water circulating through tubing to keep the head cool in the heat. Lenny said in one of his interviews that he sees it as a sensor array.
I vaguely remember him saying that. Despite my initial reaction toward the Range Viper, it really has grown on me. I think the Alley Viper, Cobra Viper and now Range Vipers are in my top 3 favorite troopers on the Cobra side.
