I honestly don't understand how a mock interview between two of the most brilliant comics/comedy writers Britain has ever produced hasn't even made it to 4000 views six months after being released.

11 years after your comment it stands at a still paltry 64k views.

Because their brand of humour or satire really is too highbrow?

Love that bit of Lee forcing an unfunny gag into awkward humour by just bearing his presence down the camera lens.

I love how the Kofi Annan gag seems inane until he starts repeating it in that deadpan manner!

Yeah since I wrote that I've seen it and it might be my favourite Iannucci show, even over Alan Partridge

One of them created Alan Partridge, the other wrote all of the Alan Partridge scripts, and neither of them is Steve Coogan...

Nope3, the character was born on the radio 4 show 'On The Hour' (the pre-runner to 'The Day Today') and Stewart Lee was the creator. Armando is responsible for most of the scripts (the funny bits anyway), coogan just provides the characterisation really.

I've got one - the Kofi Anann Joke, could be done with the pm of Israel, who starts every day in a web cafe... What would you like Prime Minister, Netanyahu ('net, & Yahoo) "YES PLEASE!!" You're welcome.

na apparently lee and herring wrote much of the early stuff in 'on the hour' but then left through disagreements, not responsible for the creation of the character though
