  • Process equipment is designed using codes to prevent and reduce the chance for failure and rupture. However, due to the cyclic operating conditions, high pressures, corrosive conditions, and elevated temperatures, equipment can fail or become unreliable for its intended service. Consequently, unplanned downtimes or failures may occur, or expensive repairs may be needed. This webinar will consider some of the elements of a good Asset Integrity Management Program.
A good Mechanical Integrity program for Asset Management ensures that equipment operates in a reliable and predictable operating range of conditions. This is accomplished by a variety of Operations, Inspection, Maintenance and implementing procedures to identify and avoid the potential damage mechanisms based on known process parameters. Variations or exceedances of these parameters must be documented and communicated to key personnel. When necessary, relevant factors and possible mitigation options should be reviewed and implemented into plant practice.
What will be covered in the webinar:
Understand why Asset Integrity Management (AIM) is needed
Understand some of the elements of a good Asset Integrity Management program
Consider the value of doing Damage Mechanism Reviews (DMRs)
Be aware of many potential service-induced damage mechanisms, such as ductile, brittle, or environmental-induced failures and the potential for damage during service
Encourage investigations and trending of routine near-misses and precursor to failures
